Ooh wizards and pirates.. :)

DD5 is going to be dressed as Tinkerbell I think.. we got her a witch's hat but I think she has years ahead of her to be scary.. and not many to be celebrating Halloween on the cruise.. so I guess it's okay :)..

I am definitely thinking about dressing up but I don't know what as.. and the costumes are not attracting me at the moment.. what adult ideas do people have :)...?

And here's a QOTD:

How is your family/you counting down to the cruise??

We are going to count down with crayons starting on October 1st.. and counting the days till we leave Aberdeen!

Well we finally got our docs in the mail on Sat:banana: Took the kids out costume shopping - They sure are having a hard time deciding, but ended up w/ a cheerleader outfit for DD. She was looking at Hannah Montana & HSM girls, but didn't like how any of the outfits looked on her. But, she may take her Jasmine costume from last year on the ship - she wants to take both, but I told her no way! Bad enough packing one! DS wanted Peter Pan, which I was going to order since they didn't have his size at the Disney store, but now he's saying Spiderman. I really am trying to talk him out of it - only cause I know he won't want that over-the-head mask on.

It's suddenly getting cold here - so it may be easy for me to start putting the summer clothes aside. At least the shorts - still in short sleeves for now. I'll have to wait on the bathing suits til after Tues night swim lessons to pack them up.

Work is getting crazy - they're trying to cram everything in before I'm off. I'm gonna really need this vacation! I'm off starting the 15th, even though we don't fly down til dinner time Fri night. Spending Thurs for myself - haircut, highlights & whatever else I want to do for me - I never do this, so I'm sure it won't be much!

Did order the gift baskets for DD, DS & DH - so excited, can't wait for them to see them! Sooo tempted to tell DH about the ones for the kids, but won't. Want everything to be a surprise - luckily, he doesn't read the boards!

And here's a QOTD:

I marked up the kid's lunch menu that's hanging on the side of the fridge w/ our dates away. I cross off every day w/ a sharpie, so they can easily see how many days left - once of course we take the Sept menu off the top of it!

Sue - When do you leave Scotland?

QOTD answer: Haven't really thought about it. Today is 15 days away from when we leave. Someone had a paper chain.. maybe I should do that now that it is so short time.

Laura

QOTD ; My DD (13) marked the days off on our calendar so every day she shouts out how many days are left!!!!!

Key West...

I realised our plan for Key was was to do some walking, tolley, butterfly watching and keylime pie eating and then I realized I don't have anything written down or planned out. Something to do this week.. Shirley mentioned she would put some things in our basket about Key west.

Found this post and got me thinking again. I liked the idea about the free earrings. I am going to have to think about that:

Just made a Vacation Calendar with my DD last night. We will be crossing out a box each day! Not many left now!

I only have one more weekend to get last minute stuff done! :scared1:
My husband leaves for a baseball tournament on the 9th and won't be back until the night before we leave!(his choice, not mine) :rolleyes1 I had him try on the clothes he thinks he wants to bring so we could determine if any needed to be altered, washed, etc... The clock is ticking!

what are you all doing in Grand Cayman. I can't find anything to do or a beach to go to for the day???

Does anyone know if there is anything like Paradise Beach (Cozumel) in GC?

Debbie - We are Boatswain park in GC. Seems to have received good reviews from the DIS notes I have seen. Not sure if the beach there. We decided on our first family cruise not to do non-DCL excurisions.

QOTD answer: I am counting down the days left I have at work before I fly out. Answer is 10 more days of work. In Grand Cayman I am doing the sane thing I always do when the ship is in port. Nothing.

We are doing the Pirate Encounter in Grand Cayman. Don't have any plans yet for Cozumel. Possibly hit a beach for a bit, but might spend much of the day back on the ship...

Has no one else been visited by the upgrade fairy? I know our ship isn't sold out, but cats 7 and 6 are both in GTY status, so some moving around would help them.

I just tried on a bunch of summer clothes for the cruise and was not a good idea.

So depressed :scared1:

I'd tell you to not worry about it but I'd be a hypocrite if I did. Wouldn't it be nice to not give a darn?

We did the Pirate Encounter in Feb 2008. The crew was really great. They seem to be a small operation, but love their job. Great photo ops. I was sad that DH and DS got seasick and didn't want to "walk the plank" at the swim break, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Tons of jellies :scared1: So, my advice? Let some of the other pax go in the water first;)
We don't have any plans for Cozumel, either. Anyone?

Total side note...day 2 of "fake bake" for me. I went in for a whole 6 minutes:lmao: Good times.

I don't know about the beaches there. We rented a car last time. First, we went to Stingray City and after that we drove to Hell. Dh wants to go scuba diving so we're going to look for a trip on which he can dive and the rest of us can snorkel. If there's time, we'll check out the coast where the blowholes are.

Fake bake? Are you happy with it so far? I was thinking about it.

We plan to do the beach break at Playa Mia Beach. DH will be doing the Cooking and Tasting workshop while DD and I will be playing at the beach. He will be able to join us after his workshop. We are doing this through DCL.

You will all be darker than me ;). I did the spray on tan before our last scheduled cruise and during the time we should have been on the cruise, I notice the color was coming off in patches. Yikes.. I will never do that again.

Laura

I MUST tan before a cruise! Well, unless I want to take a gallon of SPF 80 with me:rotfl2: I am very fair skinned, and burn in like a half hour. So, historically, if I get a decent tan I don't burn. My face got a little crisp last Caribbean trip, so I'll be a little cautious there. It will take me every bit of what we have left to get to where I want to be, and I'm hoping I get there. Should have started tanning at least a week ago. Life seems to have been happening all over the place here. I am pleased to announce I see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it starts with Mickey:cloud9: When we embark, I will have behind me football, prebowling, family wedding, fundraising, camping, family wedding, cat surgery, DH new job newness, and Mom's house will hopefully be sold. And all of this loveliness is just from Mid August till sailing. Really, I'm blessed to have so much. I just need to learn to schedule better. I see a Vista Spa visit (or 2) and a few umbrella drinks in my near future. Now, to work on the FE gifts....
