Just want everyone to know, In case they missed it... there is a thread that says Brent has left the Magic. They are trying to confirmation from CM's they know aboard currently. Let's hope it is not true!!

I have heard this as well, and I know I am going to be in the minority, but I am thrilled. I am not a very big fan of his, and after our last cruise in March I like him even less. I even wrote a complaint about him after I feel he lied right to me and my friends on our cruise in Feb/Mar. Also given that he has been the CD on my last four cruises I am ready for some new blood. On a happier note I was bored last night and so I checked us in. I was a little worked about it cause I did it from my iPhone but the new site works great with my iPhone and had no problem checking in.

I never paid attention to who the CD the was on any of our cruises. What's so great about Brent? What did I miss? Alan, what lie did he tell you and your friends?

There was a major problem on our cruise with kids in the 18+ only area and the crew not doing anything about it. We brought it to Brent's attention and he said that it would get fixed. If anything it got worse and he even let people break the rules right in front of him and even stopped the assistaint cruise director from saying something. Had had to write DCL about this because they market the cruises with places that kids are not allowed. I have since found out things got better.

Penny - I am not to worried about the cruise director, because I will be on a cruise and enjoying myself no matter who is the CD. Seems like everyone (well maybe not everyone :rotfl2: ) loves Brent, but I am not sure why.

Alan - What area where the kids at? I am one that tends to "follow the rules" and would never take DD to places that are ment for 18+ only. I guess I need to reread my guide books to make sure I remember what are the adult only locations.

The cove pool, and not just checking in (I am fine for a very quick checking) but hanging out in the pool area. In the beat street area after 9 when the whole area is 18+. No enforcement what so ever, except for the bar tenders in Rockin Bar D. I am sorry, but if you tell me you will fix it, then turn a blind eye to it later in the cruise, he really failed, and I almost say I never want to be on the ship with him as CD again, but I think that is to extreme.

OK 1st time doing ground with disney we are staying at SSR does anyone know when the 1st buses leave for port, i'am worried we wont get to the port til like 3 and i will be furious :headache:

Steve - First you need to check if they leave from SSR, otherwise they will transport you via van or taxi to another resort or suggest that you depart from AK, where I hear the bus departs around 12. My understand is most buses leave the resorts between 11 - 12:30. Getting you to the port between 12:30 and 2.

Because of this we decided to only use DCL ground on the return and choose to use a towncar for 10/17. So we could get to the terminal around 10-10:30.

I would have complained too. One of my favorite things about the adult areas is the lack of kids! :thumbsup2

I think DCL went through a "hands off" phase there for awhile, not just on the Magic with Brent as CD. There have been lots of comments on this. As well as lots of complaints. I understand this especially, as I have no children and stay in the adults only areas. I wouldn't cruise anyone else except DCL, but would have no trouble logging my complaint. And it may be that Brent felt he was restricted as to what action he could take... just utube the video of the kids going ape poop on a DCL cruise and watch the cast member just stand there. Grnated, they were on deck 5 and it must have been pretty late at night, but had I run into them.... I would have stuck my foot out and tripped one of them for acting so WILD and potentially disturbing guests. That video has a thread here on the boards somewhere... :scared1: I give him the benefit of the doubt. He probably was just following policy, and I have heard that there has been more enforcement of the adults only areas as of late, like you said. And that makes me happy.

What time do most people schedule to be picked up at the Port for your return to MCO? Our flight leaves at 2:10, so I was thinking a pick up around 10:30am? We will have late seating, what time do most people get off the ship? Don't want to be rushed, but don't want to be waiting around in the terminal for too long with little ones...

Nevermind, went on Florida Tours website and the latest they said they could pick up is 9am. I'm ok with that, booked it, one more thing checked off my list!

Unless there are paperwork or weather-related issues, almost everyone will be off the ship by 9:00am. That's necessary for them to turn it over for the next group coming on a few hours later. It takes about half an hour to get your bags and go through customs, so you could probably schedule a 9:30 pick-up and still be able to take your time. Any later than that, you'll just be hanging at the taxi stop. At least if you get to the airport early, there are shops to look at.

We are staying at the Sheraton Suites near MCO the night before. We are using points, I'm sure it will be fine. We get in around 5pm after flying all day, so a quick dip in the pool, some dinner, then early bedtime so we can get up bright and early and head to the port - will be very bright and early for us as we'll be on West Coast time

Wow - that will be bright & early for you! It looks like a fine hotel to me - I actually like the idea of having a bedroom. Maybe we can put the kids down & then hang out for a bit & unwind. We're only coming from PA, so same time zone. We won't get there til after 9, so right to bed for them. DH & I usually don't get to bed til around 12, so we'll hang out. Besides, I'm sure I'm going to be waaaaayyyyy too excited to sleep:banana: I'm worse than a little kid!

Are you driving to the port in the morning? I'm probably going to book w/ Tiffany Town Cars - we've used them before & always had good experiences. I'm just trying to decide between a van & surprising the family w/ a limo. I know I should save the money - but I'm very tempted:flower3:

The bus leaves SSR at 12:30-12:45 I took it from there last cruise. You get there at around 2. I guess I will see you on the bus. I will stick with the DCL bus. I remember on the Panama cruise last year they said we would be leaving a little late due to a DCL bus breaking down, and the fact that that bus was like a chaser bus because they could not fit all the guests from POR. I asked if they always wait, they said only if it is our fault. People who do not use DCL buses and there is a problem, you miss the ship. So if that means I get on at like 2:15 and do not have to wait in a crowded terminal for soome piece of mind I am toltaly fine with that.

We are getting a rental from Hertz for the drive down (my DH has some credits to use) and a towncar from Florida Tours on the way back. I wanted to rent a car so we'd have a bit more flexibility as to when we leave, where we want to stop on the way to stock up water, drinks, etc. I will be a bit more of an inconvenience to drop the car off at the Port, but I figure I'll get out with the kids and the luggage, then my DH can return the car at his pace. He'd prefer less time waiting around in the terminal anyway. I don't care, I'll be looking for you all!

Hi! Fellow DISers. We just booked this cruise today. We were at DL on Monday & Tuesday and were visiting with some CM friends who had just booked this cruise. We decided to join the fun as our Baltic cruise seems so far away right now. This will be our 12th Disney cruise. We are sooo addicted! Looking forward to meeting new and old friends this October.

Welcome Tom & Lynn. I am in envy of you two for going on the baltic cruise with Disney. My wife and I were going to book one till we saw what they were charging. In our opinion it was a ripoff compared to the Transatlantic in Sep. Still I wish we could have gone on that one.

My husband, daughter (adult) and I are looking forward to joining you folks on this cruise. It will be our 14th Disney cruise and 4th Western trip..

Best wishes for a wonderful and safe trip for everyone.

Welcome DisneySpirit and Otimom!

It's starting to hit me that the cruise is getting closer...Once I get my kids settled in school next week I'll be able to focus more on our trip.

Lucky1, I think it was you that mentioned the girls pirate t-shirts at Target...found them yesterday and bought one for DD. Cute! Thanks for the tip!

Welcome DisneySpirit and Otimon! Our group seems to be growing as we get closer to sailing. For those of you who booked recently, were you able to find out approximately how full the ship is? Were there still a lot of choices available to you?
