So far.... I have packed my toothbrush. I really don't need it for the next 75 days, right? :confused3

Welcome back, Shannon! Nothing remarkable here either but we're still having a good summer. I'd rather prefer unremarkable but well-spent days doing not much. In a few weeks, it will be time to get serious again, but for now, we're enjoying goofing off. LOL. Next week, God-willing, I'll be canning peaches. I don't like the work, but there's nothing like digging into a jar of home canned peaches in the dead of winter.

As for cruise talk, we decided to drive straight through from MD to FL! We'll leave at 4am to avoid the morning rush hour around DC. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Wasn't there talk of camping on the way down? Finally talked him out of that? How long is the drive? I suppose you'll muster up enough energy to enjoy the deck party, though:goodvibes
Yummie to the peaches. Do you have peach trees, or a nearby orchard? I have some frozen I need to break out for a pie or something pretty soon.

Yes I am and running around tonight when I am not on the computer packing franticly. Actually made last minute arrangements to fly up to Seattle tomorrow. Taking DD to see the grandparents. We are going from 110 degrees to 70 degrees. I think I will be freezing/

Only have a few things ready for the cruise.

Who is your favorite Disney Princess and Why?

I Chose Belle, because i love her dress it is amazing! :mickeybar

I am with you Steve. Belle is our favorite, because of her love of books and well that yellow ballroom dress is awesome. DD will be dress as belle on the cruise.

You have a good memory. Yes, dh wanted to camp on the way down. He wanted to leave home Thursday afternoon, camp at night and finish the drive to Florida in the morning. After a while, I was able to persuade him to let me get a good hotel off of priceline.com. It's not a bad way to go. According to the websites such as betterbidding.com and such, we should be able to get a 3 star hotel for about 50.00. Then I got to thinking, the drive should take about 14 hours. Maybe, we can do it straight through if we leave early Friday morning. I'm thinking a fourteen hour drive mostly in daylight is a lot less physically taxing than doing it at night when the body wants to sleep, and there's nothing visually stimulating to keep it awake. We'll still spend Friday night in Cape Canaveral.

Right now, I have to get peaches from a nearby orchard. When I first started canning, we had several peach trees. Even after we sold that house, the new owners invited me to come back to pick peaches any time. So I would. But, they have since moved, too.

hello! I didn't post in a while, sorry!

We are getting married in 3 weeks, WOOHOO! :woohoo: SO soon!!! after the wedding, all we have to do is wait for the honeymoon! come on oct. 17th!!

For my favorite princess, I think that the princess I watched the most was an "unofficial" princess... but it's NALA! As for the "real" princesses, I would say Ariel, I remember I bought the Ariel "barbie" doll even though I was too old so I pretended I was buying it for my cousin but I just never gave it to her! :rolleyes1

AnneKarine - I was thinking the reason you were not online was that you were already in wedding mode. 3 Weeks away is not that far away. Hopefully everything is going smoothy and you will have a wonderful time.

Make sure Disney knows it is your honeymoon when you are on the cruise.

Where is everyone at? seems slow on our thread lately c'mon people lets rally :cool1:

Hey Steve - Sounds like you are getting excited out this trip. I see that you are heading to WDW before the cruise. Where will you be staying and any big plans while you are there.

We are staying 3 night at POFQ before (Yes we finally changed from the Hyatt). We have tickets for the Mickey's not so scary Halloween party on the 15th. Then would hit EpCOT for the Food and Wine festival!!!

We also are planning on using Florida Tours to get us to the port on Saturday. Planning on having them pick us up at 8:30 am. Is that too early?

Hi Laura, I am still not sure about doing FE....I need to make up my mind soon, sorry. Also, I just tried your link, and it didn't work for me, but it could be just me. :confused3.

Marci

Marci - Thanks.. Don't know what the deal was with the link. I removed it from the post. I will have to back and find that old FE link.

Hey Lucky1 we are staying at The Sarasota Springs Resort and othing major planned just food and wine festival on Wed WOO HOO :cool1:

My pre cruise plans are 3 nights at SSR and lots of time and the food and wine festival as well as lunch in Germany and dinner at 'Ohana. Not going to pay an extra 50+ bucks for a haloween party when I also have five more nights after the cruise. That 50 bucks going to my food and wine bill or bar bill on the ship. Becides honestly I personaly hate Halloween. It is the holiday I hate second most, but it is a baseball reason I hate Halloween.

We are planning on spending the two nights before the cruise at OKW. My DD, SIL and GS will be arriving on Thursday and we have dinner reservations at Liberty Tree. They are then going to go to MNSSHP. My DS, DIL and other GS will be arriving on Friday. I will drive to MCO and pick them up around noon. We then have dinner reservations at O'Hanas for Friday night. Saturday morning it is off to the port. Hopefully we can fit 8 people's luggage into 2 cars. I am not sure when we are planning to arrive at the port. The time really doesn't matter much as long as when we get there the Magic is still there.

I agree. This is our fourth cruise. Getting there first and hanging around in the port for two or so hours has lost its novelty. The only thing I would like about getting to the port just a little earlier than when boarding starts is it is nice to run into other Disboard members and meet their families before it's time to head in all different directions.

Hey All,

Been fighting computer problems before it finally gave up and went kaput. Just got a new hard-drive, and thankfully lost only about one month of emails.

On a brighter note, we will be staying at the GF prior to the cruise. Its my wife's bday, so am surprising her by staying there. Should be a blast.

Regards,
Pete

Laura

We've scheduled an 8:45 pick-up due to the fact that I've read that the drivers generally aren't allowed to enter into the dropoff lane at the port until the porters are on duty shortly before the terminal opens at 10:00 a.m.

Ariel is my favorite too!!!

On the subject of Nala... my (almost) 4-year-old picked up the cutest plush Nala onboard the Magic last November. She still carries it everywhere! :)

Hey DISers what a few weeks I have had here, two jobs with two wildy popular promos. Build A Bear $29.99 for any bear any outfit and any shoes and quiznos buy 1 sub get the 2nd for $1, I'm hovering around 70 hours a week and almost want to give up but know that cruise is so close, I'm looking forward to meeting so many of you! :cool2:

Is anyone staying at the Radisson at the port the night before the ship leaves? Or has anyone stayed there before? We are booked to stay there the night before but I keep reading such mixed reviews that I am starting to second guess myself. I want something clean, safe, comfortable, not too expensive, etc. Keep finding reviews that are making me question if this is the place for us that night. Not concerned about shuttle issues since we are not planning to use it (DH is planning to drop kids and me at the terminal while he returns the rental car and takes their shuttle).
Thanks...
Jennifer
