October 17, 2009 Western

We are from Quebec, Canada. We are getting married on august 29th, and decided to wait a little bit for the cruise... I am a total Disney fan and I have never been on a cruise, so I am EXCITED! We got the romance package, which means I can actually book things now...

BUT... I don't know when to book Palo?! I really don't want to miss the pirate diner, or the Gala.. Do you guys know when I should book the Palo diner to make sure I don't miss any special theme diner?

thanks!:goodvibes

On the Palo's here is a post that Sue did a few days ago on her theory of nights.

Hi AnkaG!!! :) Hope you get some help from the post I made (posted above)..

Okay, this is soooo funny -- My hubby and I got married on August 29th as well :) And we're celebrating our anniversary on the cruise!!! :)

We should get together and toast to our special date :) NIce to know another couple who shares this date with us..! We love Quebec! Celebrated our 7th Anniversary in Quebec City some years back :) when we lived in Canada.. je me souviens..

From what I understand, the Golden Mickeys is on the third night (semi-formal), Pirate night is on the fifth night, and the Captain's Gala is on the sixth night (formal). Nights #1, #2 & #4 are the regular restaurant menus, and the last night is the Till We Meet Again menu. Hope this helps!

I paid off the cruise today.:cool1: Of course never like spending that much money in one shot..:faint:

I am ready to make reservations next week. :woohoo:

For the younger kids that will be in the clubs, do they serve dinner there or would you just get them something on Deck 9 or 10 when the adults dine at Palo's.

We should definitely toast to our wedding dates! :) I am originally from the gatineau-ottawa region, my bf is from montreal. I lived in montreal for 6 years and now we moved back to the gatineau-ottawa region. We are both french canadian but also bilingual. what did you do in canada?

thanks for all the information! I booked Palo on the 2nd night, although the 4th night was also a good option. Thanks for all your answers.

I also booked the brunch and the high tea (figured I booked all the palo I can!).

We booked the diving excursion at Cozumel and the Stingray city at GC. I don't know what to do at KW, I think we'll just walk around... and Castaway Cay, I was thinking of parasailing...

Key West is a great place for just walking around. Our first two visits dh and I enjoyed drinks and local favorites for lunch and people watching. We walked around as much as the heat and humidity would allow. This time, I'm reading up on the different buildings and sites so we can do a walking tour.

Hi All cant wait almost time to cruise!

Does anyone know for sure what the dining rotation will be? if so could you PM me or Reply to this post

There are 3 rotations, and you won't know which is assigned to your family unti you get your dining tickets upon boarding. (By the way... always look at your dining tickets, and not what is printed on your key cards, as they may be different! They were for us on our last cruise!) It will be something to the effect of 12331231 as disney currently has you in the same restaurant on days 3 & 4.

Hi!

My soon to be husband and I are going on this cruise too! We are celebrating our honeymoon on the cruise! CAN'T WAIT!!!

Welcome aboard!!! We're glad to have you as part of the group! :)

Laura

If your child is in the club during that clubs' meal time, they will take the child (along with the group) to a restaurant to eat. This applies to both lunch and dinner. They usually go to Topsiders, but I've seen them go to Animators Palette too. It's up to you whether you want to get them something yourself, or have them eat with the clubs.

seems like most of you have all been on a disney cruise already?! How would you rate disney cruise to other companies?

It's my first cruise, I hope we'll like it. I am worried that the Quiet cove pool seems kinda small... is there enough space, even on sea day?

Technical not cruise-related observation here. Does anyone use Mozilla Firefox as their internet browser? Somehow Flash is no longer working and I can't get Mozilla to load in order to renable Flash. I'm not sure what to do. Lots of things won't load without Flash. It's rather inconvenient. At the very least, I can't play Bouncy Ball on facebook and I can't see the countdown timers on Dis.

I've only cruised DCL, so I can't compare based on personal experience.

As for the pool, it is very small. I wouldn't count on swimming laps or having private conversations with your husband. LOL. It's more for soaking in my opinion.

I use FF and am not having a problem with flash. Have you ensured that the flash plugin in installed? Visit -> http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about to see if it is working correctly.
