I tried making a chain with my DD and DS for our upcoming DL trip in May, they lost interest after about 20 links. I kept saying 'only 60 more to go!' :thumbsup2 (they don't even understand what 60 means yet but still looked at me like I was crazy) :goodvibes So, I'll pull it out once we get twenty days out...:)

I think I'll go a different route and countdown our cruise with a glass of wine each night ;)

IF...LOL. I'm probably more excited about the trip chain than my kids. I'd start one right now but it would probably drape my entire kitchen, dining room and living room.

The first time we made one it was only 3 months long because we booked in January for an April cruise. There's a picture of it on page one of this thread.
Not only was it a fun thing to do together but it was educational. Leah, who was 4, practiced saying her days of the week and months of the year. I had Spencer, who was 7, write the day and the date on each link. He also drew the straight lines with a ruler and discovered that paper is almost a foot long. William was in charge of hanging the chain so that it was an equal number of links equally spaced. See, we covered math, handwriting, and spelling.

Is it okay if I make us a Yahoo group?

Hi All!
I'm a little bummed this evening. When I signed onto the DIS, I saw a header for the 2009 MNSSHP dates. I was hoping for either the 16th or 24th, preferably the 16th. Neither dates have a party scheduled:sad2: I'm so excited for our cruise, but I was REALLY hoping for a little Magic Kingdom, too. I can't justify a one day admission for less than a whole day. The party would have been SO cool. I guess now I can shop for the airfare, anyway. Maybe there will be a little hallow pixie dust on the Magic....

That's too bad about the MNSSHP. We've never taken the kids to Disney World so I don't know about that event first hand but it seems awfully popular! I almost want to go just to see what all the fuss is about. Did you book your flight yet?

I'm about to buy trip insurance. FYI: If you're buying trip insurance, you can get better coverage at a cheaper price than what DCL has to offer. A lot of people use www.insuremytrip.com .

Just a thought....do you realize the Magic only sails 32 more times and then it is our turn.....:thumbsup2

Not that I am counting or anything.

We have been to MNSSHP 4 times now. While it was a lot of fun it was not worth the money last Oct. It was like $250-300 extra for the tickets.

I want to insure the trip too and get sooooo confused when looking at the plans!

Wow, that is a big chunk of change. Was that per person or for the family?

It looks like there is one on the 15th so I think we may try and hit that one. :thumbsup2 Anybody else? Any tips on what not to miss?

I see the "Hi" was for your buddy Doberlady but Welcome back, Bourgie!

A day late and a dollar short, but....
HAPPY RETIREMENT TO YOU, HAPPY RETIREMENT TO YOU, HAPPY RETIREMENT DEAR DA-LE (DCANNON101), HAPPY RETIREMENT TO YOU! :cool1:

That sounds like a trip chain idea.....or something like an Advent Calender where you have little Magic Ships for each sailing until it's our turn.

That mtchurchmonica post was actually me. I must have been in a daze when I signed in. As you can see from the post count, I never use that ID.

Anyway, I put in for a change of dinner seating last September and it finally was granted. What a relief. We now have main dinner seating.

That sounds really cute - I like the little ships idea - then the kids could take one off each Sat. Actually, maybe we can do ours Fri night since we're flying down a day early - Helps to bring us 1 day closer to vacation time!

I can't wait for it, but yet at the same time I'm trying not to wish away the summer for it. The weather here in PA is finally starting to get a little warmer, trees have buds on them. I want to enjoy that for now. But... I still can't wait to take a nice vacation!!

Yahzee, I really like the little ship idea, I will see if I can find a bunch, I think my son would love that. Kinda wierd about the dinner seating thing, we just booked about a month ago, and we were able to get main dinner seating right off the bat....that was part of our deciding factors for this cruise...that and I join the list of celebrations, I turn 35 on this cruise :scared1:.
