October 16, 2008 3 night

Brucechase- Ugh! Stomach viruses are terrible. Hope you are all better ASAP.

I have started to make little piles out of my big pile of "stuff to pack" and may even get some in a suitcase. I never realized how tough it would be for 2 teenagers to decide what they want to wear to school for the next 4 days(they are off Monday) so I can pack their other tops and stuff. You would think I asked them to solve Global Warming and world hunger in one sitting. ;)

I have been watching that forecast too. We had frost this morning on the car. I can't wait for 80s. :cloud9:

So I just got an email from the Radisson, asking me if I'd like to check-in for my room on Oct. 15! My room key should be waiting for me when I arrive!

Weather update...note, I'm also including Orlando weather before and after the cruise because I'm going to WDW after.

10/15 - Sunny 89/68
10/16 - Sunny 86/66
10/17 - Sunny w/ patchy clouds 87/77
10/18 - Sunny w/ patchy clouds 87/77
10/19 - Sunny 83/68
10/20 - Sunny 85/68
10/21 - Sunny 86/70
10/22 - Sunny 82/70

BruceChase, how is everyone feeling? I got some robitussin w/Codiene and between that and the sudafed, the cold I had coming on has been dried out!

Mary~ I didn't get an e~mail from the Radisson! What gives. I hope they still have my reservation. My ex used to travel a lot for work, and one thing we learned along the way was that confirmation numbers from hotels means basically nothing. So If you get an e~mail, then I should too! HAHA.

I have a lot of mapquesting to do in the next few days. I decided since I suprised my kids and I am so used to micro managing any trip we have gone on, that this time I would let the kids decide what we do on our 3 days in orlando, and they didn't pick the Magic Kingdom or Universal. They want to do Typhoon Lagoon, and GatorLand, and we only have part of a day on the 15th so we are going to do the Orlando Science museum. They did mention Sea World, but I would like to do a cruiseout of Texas next and they have a Sea World in TX, so we will save that for our next cruise. Hoepfully by then the galviston port will be up and running again!

Jaycie--

I pre-paid the $99 rate. Maybe that's why I got the email?

Not sure, but it was cool.

Hmmmmmmm, You got a better rate than me too. I think I paid $99 for the room and another $29.00 to park my car there and get the shuttle to the port. I am sure I could have done the park and ride without the fee, But I am gullible. I think they have a nice pool area, we will be spending most of the afternoon at the pool I'm sure. So if you come to the pool I'm the one with what seems like to me the loudest kids!

Good news, my court date has been pushed back until 11/13. Wonderful, Marvelous! Someone was on my side!

Another beautiful MN day. I know it shouldn't matter, but I would really like a cold spell to sweep through next week! Then warm up again for Halloween (which never seems to happen).

Glad to hear your court date is pushed back.

Long range forecast for home looks like it will be a little cool here, but the week after cruise, it looks like the bottom drops out temperature wise.

What time are you flying in on Oct 15?

More good forecast news on the tropical front from WeatherUnderground.com

The tropical Atlantic is quiet, and no reliable computer models forecast tropical cyclone development over the next four days. The UKMET model continues to predict a tropical depression could spin up in the middle Atlantic between Africa and the Lesser Antilles Islands about five days from now. Climatology does not favor development in this region in October. A better chance for development will be over the Caribbean a week from now, and most of the models indicate the possibility of a Caribbean storm developing 5-7 days from now. The preferred genesis locations in the models are near the coast of Nicaragua, and near Puerto Rico.

In other words, VERY FAR AWAY FROM US!

Last time I looked this thread didn't exsist. How did I miss it? We'll be there next week, can't wait.

Whooo :cool1: We fly out tomorrow! We are so excited!

How does everyone plan to meet up to share the cab ride to Atlantis?

Thanks to all who were concerned about the stomach thing. Everyone is back to normal but it was rough. Funny thing was our schools counted this as unexcused because we did not go to the dr. for that one day they missed. I could only imagine what it would be marked if we took them out for a vacation.

Great news on the weather!! Sun and fun!

As for the cab ride to Atlantis, man this trip is coming too FAST! I'm still not organized enough. I guess we should either talk about it for our little adult meet (if we can decide on that) or we can all meet at like 9:20am at the debarkment site (normal exit time is 9:30 am). That might be the best for us is to meet there (wherever there is).

I guess my family will meet everyone about 9:20 at the debarkment site, I doubt we will be going to the adult meet as we don't drink, so honestly my dh and I would feel awkward. If no one is there, hopefully we will see you all at Atlantis!:yay:

Don't let that stop you. The purpose is for us all to say hi and get to meet after all this time typing behind a confuser :surfweb: . Don't let the not drinking scare you away. I drink on extreme rare occasions so I might be the one sipping on the diet coke in the back. If it is akward, I'll just go explore the ship. Stop by and say hi if we ever figure out where we are going to meet and when.

I thought I'd scan the letter talking about Halloween in case anyone else besides Jaycie didn't get it.

yeah, we kinda need to decide where we are meeting and when.

Before Boat Drill or after?

3pm? Or is that too late?

We also need to do a family meet so our kids can meet each other and hopefully find some buds to pal around with. Maybe we do this one in the afternoon and an adult one later on?

I'm leaving Weds. and I think Jaycie is leaving on Tuesday so we need to decide this this weekend so that people who aren't online over the weekend will see whatever we decide first thing Monday morning.

Please don't let that stop you!! I drink about three times a year (usually a margarita or Turtle Crawl at Disney), so I am REALLY a lightweight. At the meet, I will probably have one drink, then switch to soda or I will be snoozing. ;)

Hey everyone
I'm just going to throw this out there - we leave tomorrow morning so we probably won't have access to a computer for a while. How about we meet up after the boat safety drill at the Cove Cafe (that's deck 9). After the boat drill you have to head back to your room to put your vest back, but then we could all meet as soon after that as possible. I would love the kids to have chance to meet.

What time is the boat drill at? 3:00pm? We could all meet between the drill and the sail away party! I think that is a good idea.

I was not planning on bringing costumes for my kids. Now maybe I should. That just seemed like more stuff to pack. We had minimal pirate stuff for pirate night. I will have to see how much suitcase room we have when I get all the rest of the stuff packed. I am the biggest procrastinator, only my DD has her bag packed and I can only imagine what nonsense I will find in there when I look through it! She tends to overpack!

Thanks for all the wonderful weather updates Mary! That is great news when you book during hurricane season!

WOW! Our cruise is getting so close and I have soooo much to do!

Butterx3 I think I may have to challenge you for that title of "biggest procrastinator!" :lmao:

We will be leaving Wednesday to drive down so I'm betting I'll be dragging out suitcases and packing late Tuesday night! :lmao:

Let's make it official -
Family Meet at Cove Cafe right after the Boat Drill!
Adults ~ drink whatever you want. DH and I will not be drinking alcohol, but we don't care what you all are drinking as long as we can meet everyone.
Bring the kids!

Fair enough?

Here's the latest temp forecast...I'm not bothering with the rest of the conditions because it's supposed to be sunny with a few clouds and N/NNE breeze at 5-10MPH the entire time! Can't get any better than that!
