Hi All,

My husband and I are planning on booking this cruise soon and we're wondering how reservations and fast passes for the stop in Disney World works. It's going to stop at DisneyWorld for one day and we'd like to make dinner reservations and get on a few rides. Have any of you experienced this trip before?

Thanks!

They are going to need a really big trailer to get a ship that size from Port Canaveral to the Parks. :)

I don't know how FP+ will be handled as the last time the Magic was in NYC and going to WDW, FP+ didn't exist. DCL would have to give you your ticket numbers prior to the cruise in order for you to make FP+ reservations on MDE in advance - you should probably call DCL to see how that will be handled. If they don't give you the ticket numbers ahead of time, you can make FP+ as soon as you enter the theme park.

If you would like to make a dinner reservation, simply go to the WDW website (or call Disney Dining) 180 days prior to your park day and make an ADR.

On Monday I switched our Nov Cruise to this one. From what I've read on a social network site it's supposedly in the works to be able to reserve FP at the 60 days out. Hope it works out!

I did a Disney cruise out of NY in 2012 that had the Port Canaveral stop. It was great. We docked pretty early and all aboard was midnight. My shuttle time to get off the ship was 7:15 am but my mom and I were down at the buses at 6:45 am and they sent us on a bus at that time. Buses were sent off as soon as they filled.

We arrived when the park opened. Our room key served as our park ticket (admission to the park was included in the cruise) but this was before magic bands and fast pass plus. I am not sure how it will work now for fast pass plus.

There were buses going back to the ships; there was no set return times. My mom and I headed back around seven but many stayed much later. That night dinner was open seating in Lumierre's. Cabanas was also open, but can't remember if the others were open. The dining times were different and the restaurants were open later to accommodate people returning at different times.

This sounds so awesome -- what a great opportunity to spend a day at WDW and have all the transportation included and tickets, etc. I'd love to do that itinerary at least once! Was it especially more expensive than regular Caribbean cruises?

I just booked monday so im paying more than opening day but my family of 4 for a 9c gty is about $6200.
My mom's cabin for 3 in a 9c gty is about $5000. Way more than I spent on our 7 night Fantasy last August. But when we figured in a weekend at WDW with resort and 1 tix, flights and food we are breaking even with this cruise and everyone is still getting what they want.
Eta: *that was in addition to the nicely priced San Juan Repo we had originally reserved.

I'll be on this sailing also! Please come join our cruise meet thread: http://www.disboards.com/threads/disney-magic-10-15-2016-new-york.3482101/

@jskacoc when you find out about the way FP will work from the other site, can you please either post on the meet thread or PM me? I'm very curious about this as well.

I decided we aren't making ADR's and will wing it with CS. I have no idea at this point where we will be. I promised DS we would start at AK, then I assume we will move over to MK, but want to also get over to Epcot. I have no idea if we will be able to do all of this in one day though, esp if DS misses his usual nap, so I figured I don't want to lose $ on missed ADR's if we have to make a change in plans. That, and I'm fully expecting MK to be crowded that day since it is one of the only days that week without a MNSSHP.

I wish I could remember how much I paid, but it was nice to not have to pay for airfare. I also stayed in a room with my parents and niece which helped with the price for me.

I loved the Disney day. Only my mom and I opted to go to Disney. My brother's family and my dad went to the space center which they had to pay for that excursion. I made reservations for my mom and I at Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch and we had a great time just the two of us.

Sure will! We are planning on doing the same, probably AK in the morning, MK in the evening. Probably CS for meals since there's 7 of us and it's just easier to wing it.

We will be on the 10/22 sailing. We did the 8 day out of NYC back in July 2012. We used our "key to the world" cards to get into the parks. We spent the day at MK so I'd like to go to a different park this time. I'm thinking of doing Epcot and MK at night. Last time we left MK by 6:00 and went back to the ship because it was so hot. They had cold bottled water and cold face clothes for us when we got on the bus to return to the ship. We went to Parrot Cay for dinner. It was a buffet.

We are paying about the same as we did back in 2012 and we are one cabin over.

I'm also curious about how FP+ will work.

Didn't have fast pass when we did this a few years back (out of Galveston) but we were off the bus, first thing and managed to make all the parks :)

For the two of us for an inside cabin it will be about $3,000. It is pricey but for what you get and the quality of a disney cruise, we find it well worth the splurge. We live in NY and we'd be saving so much on airfare alone. It's our one year wedding anniversary and 10 years together when we go in October. So exited!

We were also thinking of ending the night in Magic Kingdom but make sure it isn't a night that is the Halloween party. You'd need a separate ticket for that event.

It would be great to meet up! We were considering ending in MK but it might be a Halloween party night. That's a separate ticket. When I find out how the FP+ works I'll fill you in.

Unless something changes, it isn't a Halloween Party night. My experience going to WDW last year during the same week makes me want to avoid MK that day cause everyone who doesn't want to buy a party ticket but wants to see fireworks goes that day. Now if they are greedy enough to add one of those new 'after dark' nights or whatever they are called, I will definitely be out of the MK early.

Yes, def join the cruise meet thread, it would be great to have a familiar 'face' onboard. I don't do that other social media site, so I don't know what is going down over there...

Congrats on your anniversary!

Yes it's more money. I could fly down and stay on the fantasy for about the same price as the New York cruise.

I also was on the 2012 Bahamas cruise from NY that stopped at Port Canaveral for the day. It was run very efficiently. If I can remember we let DCL know prior to WDW day what park we would like to start in. In the atrium that morning they had queues set up for each of the parks. You got in line for which park you wanted to start in and then waited in the line for them to call you. They gave you a paper that listed the times and location of last bus from each park so you could plan your day. We stayed in AK all day as we did the Wild Africa Trek but many park hopped. They even provided bottled water and a small snack for the bus ride back.

It was long day but a lot of fun!!

Oh, and here are some pics of the NY terminal, etc. from 2012.

Great pictures! We took Carnival out of NYC and just loved sailing past the Statue of Liberty, but I would love to see Disney's logos there for at least one cruise!

I have the crowd calendar app on my phone and according to that MNSSHP is Tuesday and Thursday the week we are going. We will be there on Wednesday.
