October 15, 2005 anyone?

So sorry to here about your loss, Michelle. :sad1:
I agree with you. Pet's do become a member of the family. My cat is 16 years old. (my Dh calls her The Feeble Cat). But I love her and I will be so sad when she passes.

I hope your day today will be better. :sunny: Maybe you will get your docs! :goodvibes

Hi./ I honestly don't know if I've replied to this ages ago or not., But I too will be on the October 15th cruise with hubbie, and two daughter 12 & 9. I always have a hard time "cruising" the boards. Hopefully I'll be able to find this one again.

we are wearing our matching mickey outfits for embarkation...they're hokey i know but it makes for a great picture! we even got an outfit for my mom, even though she soesn't know it yet!

michelle...i am really sorry about your pony...hopefully the pcoming cruise will help take your daughter's mind off of everything and help her start healing... :wizard:

Thanks Elizabeth,
Actually Josie had moved up to Toby...Her big horse...So that was good. She has him to mess with and ride.
Trigger was my Neice's pony. We got him when she was 1 year old. Then her brother rode him and after he got too big he was passed on too Josie. They won lots of ribbons and trophys on him. :goodvibes She was very upset last night, but she will be ok. Keeping her busy and she is showing Toby in a horseshow tomorrow.

Welcome DiMitch to our thread! pirate:

I love the matching outfits. Josie and I have a couple of Disney matching dresses. Love it! ::MickeyMo You guys will look very cute.

My Aunt just called me from LA. She got tickets to "Ellen" for yesterday's taping. She wanted me to go,but I could not cause of my cruise plans. No extra money or vacation days!
Anyway they are having a ball on "Rodeo Drive"!! She took a picture of Mickey's ::MickeyMo Star on the walk of fame and she was standing in front of the Disney store in Hollywood! Wish I could be there! :goodvibes
She is bringing me a Birthday gift!! yippee... :wizard:

Ok...Have a good weekend guys....Headed home in a bit. My family is taking me to Kobe of Japan for my Birthday tonight. They chop and cook in front of you at your table..YUM! :cool1:

Michelle,
so sorry to hear about your pony. I started crying just reading about it...I'm a big baby when it comes to stuff like that and I would be devastated if something happened to our baby (an orange tabby named Handsome Pete). Pets are part of the family - some people don't understand that but most do and sympathize with what you guys are going through.

Paige,
I tend to agree with Jen's response about clothing. We had our suits on underneath pair of shorts and a T-shirt most days on board the ship. It's very casual during the day - even in the theatres for movies and shows.

Evenings are pretty much as formal as you want to make them. I like dressing up for dinner so I always have a dress and then I ramp it up for formal and semi-formal nights, and when we go to Palo for dinner. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable - don't worry about the rest of us and you'll be fine! :goodvibes

I want my docs, too!!! Where are they???

Hi again guys...I know I just joined on with all of you who have been communicating through 80 some odd pages of threads (haven't read them all...but did back track through the last few), and although I really don't know any of you , I too cried about the pony! It so sad to hear things like that. My 9 year old loves animals and even at this young age is determined that her life long career is to become a vet. She would have cried as well. I was reading the last few pages about clothing and now I'm confused and have some questions any of you who know. I did the 3 day wonder 2 years ago with no formal night. I was under the impression that formal, palo's and sometimes even the semi-formal nights were very dressy. Now I'm worried that it's more casual. I love to dress up and don't get the opportunity very often as I run a daycare business from my home. (DH's xmas parties and thats about it.) ANyways, I had planned to wear a long sleek glittery purple slip dress for the formal night. A similar silvery/black one to Palo's, and a knee length glitzy black/gold for semi-formal. Am I going over board? (for lack of a better term :rotfl2: Also does anyone know if soft sided coolers are allowed? I hear mixed messages about this. some say yes, cruise doc's say no. I have a disney cooler bag (soft) that almost looks like it could be a carry on, and was planning on using it as such. Think it would be a problem? Has anyone responded to your threads with kids 9 or 12?

DiMitch,

Last year on our 7-night cruise I wore a long gown for formal night, semi-formal night, and for dinner at Palo. My hubby wore a tux each night. We were not out of place on any one of those evenings. It's all about what you want to do and what you are comfortable with. I love to dress up and don't get the chance very often, so for me I go all-out with dresses on those nights. Some people chose not to - there is no right or wrong.

I plan on dressing up just as much on this trip as on our last one, so if you see a diva in a long gown one night it's probably me! :teeth:

hope this helps!

Brenda

Mine is sleek and long to the floor...Samon colored with some glittery accents and strapless! I even got some cute "Brat Shoes" to wear with it. That is what my DD calls them. They almost look like glass!! Clear... :cool1: I am excited to dress up! I found DD a dress on clearance at Dillards..Jessican McClintock with Rhinestones...Very fancy for $20.

I say go for it and have fun! I don't get to dress up very often either so this will be fun. :goodvibes

DiMitch, Your dresses sound awesome! Can't wait too see them.

Are you up for joining us at our meet on Sunday at 1:00 at the Promanade lounge??? I think that is it.

Hey, I hope it is not too hokey...We did the matching outfits thing on our Wonder cruise in 2004. Only we wore the matching outfits to dinner (tropical night in Parrot Cay), not at embarkation:

(You can't really tell from the picture, but my wife's skirt and the logo in the middle of her blouse matches the pattern the rest of us are wearing.)

I'm not sure if we will do something similar this time or not...We still have a lot to figure out in the wardrobe department! :earsboy:

36 days until embarkation! 767 hours until I start my vacation!

DiMitch,

I tend to agree about dressing up and absolutely say go for it. The ONLY reason I will not be in a full length gown is because I will be about 21 weeks pregnant and already look like I did when 7 months pregnant with DS (translation: big as a house!). As much as I love to buy new clothes and dress nicely, I just cannot bring myself to buy dressy dresses that I will only ever wear once. Maternity formal wear is EXPENSIVE. That's not to say I'm going to look like a slob. I'm just wearing the same dress - basic black satin knee length dress - for both formal and semi-formal.

Btw, welcome to the board! And have we bored all of the guys with all of our fashion talk now?

Oh, edited to add a picture of the dress. And no, I don't look that thin or lovely in it.

Cute dress, Paige! I'm sure you will look fabulous!

And Cap'n Sam! What a handsome family you have...and with such healthy teeth, too! :goodvibes

I finally dip my toe into a thread on the community board about the hurricane (specifically about whether or not the dead should be shown on tv and in print) and drat if it doesn't get locked shortly after my eloquent and relatively flame-retardant post! :teeth:

I've learned my lesson...stick with the cruise boards...apparently those folks out there just want an argument.

Waiting for me at home this evening. Only five more weeks until we get on a plane to fly down!!

I'm going with a black suit for Palo and the formal evenings. I own a tux, but it doesn't fit me any more ... several sizes too big, since I got it when I was 60 lbs heavier several years ago. Maybe later in life it will fit again?

OK, so I got the cruise docs, verified that I can watch my Colts on MNF on the boat. Life is getting better!

Okay, I now feel like the last man/woman standing. I even went & checked my front porch again to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Oh well, maybe I'll get those docs tomorrow. :)

Have a great weekend y'all! :earsgirl:

No one wanted to take me up on the Sucker Bet!!! Still no docs here either!! I'm still betting I'll be last!! I did read somewhere else that some people that are cruising at the end of September still don't have theirs either. :rolleyes2

DiMitch...welcome!!! Hope you are planning on playing speed tag with us. :Pinkbounc

Michelle....OMGosh...I'm so sorry about your pony. They really are family members aren't they? I was just watching something on CNN about the lost pets and reading your post at the same time. :sad1:

Brenda...forgot to ask...did you raise enough money for MDA to get out of jail? I'm thinking yes, since you are posting, but you just never know about those Missouri prisons. :teeth:

Leaving for a little getaway this weekend until Monday night. I'll catch up with you all then.

Later Friends,
Nancy :wave2:

Nancy - thanks again for your donation...I was able to raise $700 in donations. Not bad for someone who really doesn't interact with external customers on a regular basis - the funds all came from family and friends. I'm sure MDA would have been happier if I had met my bail but they ended up with more than they would have if I had said no to them in the first place. I'm free and counting the days and pounds until vacation!

Hope everyone has a good weekend - to all of you along the atlantic seaboard I'm keeping you in my thoughts and hoping that Ophelia leaves everyone alone.

B.

Btw, welcome to the board! And have we bored all of the guys with all of our fashion talk now?

I'm still figuring out the Schlong guy conversation! :scared:  :crazy2:

we have the matching mickey surfer outfits to wear sometime while we're cruising... beyond that, I'm not wearing NOTHING!!

he he just joking! :scared:

Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.
It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.

I have a quick question.
I gorgot, but where do I go to get the green paint chips? Was it home depot?
