October 15, 2005 anyone?

Someone from work has family that made it up here with nothing but the clothes on their backs...So she has asked for donations.... The Mom just happened to be a size 6/8 and the DD a 3 T. So I was able to find all kinds of things for the Mom in my closet and then I had a lot of DD's stuff packed away and my best friend has a little one and she gave me all kinds of nice stuff. So I have 3 bags of things to bring tomorrow. My DD also put in 3 Barbies for the little girls since she lost all her toys.. :goodvibes I am just glad that we can help in some way. I can not even imagine losing everything...I tried to explain that to my 7 year old. :confused3 It is hard for little ones to understand what is happening outside their safe little world.

I agree with focusing on the cruise!! :cloud9: Happy thoughts! :cloud9:

Five new pages since I last checked ...

Just got back from a week's vacation without a computer and a return home to scads of projects/back-to-school tasks ... no time to get on the computer until now. LOTS of new information to get through. How many days left? 39? I better start thinking about what to pack.

Seems like people are getting docs early this year; of course, all those hurricanes in Florida last year probably had something to do with the shorter window...I think we got ours about two weeks before we sailed last year. I remember I was getting nervous because we were leaving for WDW five days before the cruise and all I could think was "what if they don't get here before we leave???"

I'm always looking for something to worry about...can't seem to help it! But now I'm going to be wondering every day why I don't have my docs yet! :rotfl:

:sad1: :faint: :( :worried: NO NO NO. More dental problems. I have seen my dentist more this year than rest of my life added together. Luckily he has an appointment within the week.
Marnie, thats 2 of us doing the Doing the Docs dance  Is Dylan excited about the trip? Mathew can't wait. (still not recieved letter did you say he sent one?)
Has anyone seen a list of Movies showing?
I am now going to show my ignorance with geography, Was North Carolina anywhere near Katrinas path? We have friends we met on last years cruise from there. We have had an email saying they are OK but no other info.
Wayne

Wow! I can't believe folks are getting their docs this early! When Wayne got his, I thought maybe DCL sent them out earlier to folks outside the US to allow for longer ship times, but Marnie getting hers blows that theory. :teeth: Time to start "doc watch" around my house! :earsboy:
NO NO NO. More dental problems. I have seen my dentist more this year than rest of my life added together.
Sorry to hear that you have more dental problems, Wayne. We need to hurry up and get the "Molar Express" over with while we still have some teeth left! :teeth:
Was North Carolina anywhere near Katrinas path?
No, not at all...Katrina cut across South Florida and then went into the Gulf. NC is on the Atlantic Coast about three states north of Florida. As a North Carolina resident, I can say that we (NC) have had a relatively quiet season so far this year...No Fran or Floyd as in years past. We're hoping it lasts...

38 days until embarkation! 818 hours until I start my vacation! :earsboy:

Wayne,
North Carolina was not impacted by Katrina (at least from a weather standpoint) at all. Katrina's primary impact was along the Gulf Coast...Louisianna, Mississippi, and Alabama all of which border the Gulf of Mexico. To a lesser extent Florida was impacted as Katrina came off the Atlantic and crossed the state into the Gulf.

North Carolina's coast borders the Atlantic Ocean... it is north of South Carolina (duh, right?) which is sort of north-east of Florida. I think if you were driving from Florida you would actually have to pass through a portion of the state of Georgia before you even reached South Carolina.

This lesson in US geography brought to you by the proud sponsors of public education...I is smart! :teeth:

BTW - sorry to hear about the continued dental woes.

Happy belated b-day BJ98! :cake: Hope you had a great day!

Wow! The docs are coming! It does seem early. Time to start stalking the UPS guy! :earboy2:

Told the teachers today about missing school...I wasn't too worried about DS (second grade) but DD (fourth grade) I was a little concerned. Turns out DD's teacher went on DCL this summer! :earsboy: So, she was so excited to hear that's what we were doing. And...she told me the Magic's, Snow White's, little brother goes to our school!!!! :earseek: I had no idea. I am so happy the teacher's were supportive, because I do feel a little guilty.

Now, DH, he'd be so happy to know I'm talking about him, doesn't think there will be naked people on the beach at St. Marten. Why...because it's Disney. :rotfl2: Either he's playing along or he's in for a shock. I've already prepped the wee ones, it's DH that might not be prepared. ;)

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Oh gosh, Sara, I hadn't even thought about that. We're doing the French Riviera Rendezvous excursion on St. Maarten and I probably ought to warn my 70+ year old grandmother or she will pass out fromt he shock. Or maybe I'll wait and take a picture of her face when she spots the first naked dude!

Sara,
You did not miss by Birthday!! It is tomorrow!! :goodvibes Thank you........
It is getting to the point where I don't want to celebrate anymore!! :wizard:

Friday night my family and friends are taking me out to Kobe of Japan for dinner. :goodvibes Then Sunday 12 of us are going to the Brooks and Dunn concert. That should be fun.

I heard that there is quit an interesting "DUDE" at Orient beach in St.Maarten.

His name is the "Shlong man"????  I even saw a picture and was told we have to go there and find him.... :scared1: Pretty scary if you know what I mean? :teeth:
We are renting a Jeep in St.Martin and taking DD to the beach for a bit. Dawn beach probably and then checking the kids in the club for the afternoon and heading to Orient bay. :cool1: We are so bad! :p

Is Dylan excited about the trip? Mathew can't wait. (still not recieved letter did you say he sent one?)

Yes, Dylan is very excited. Dylan sent a letter/Birthday card to Mathew some time ago. I even took it to the Post Office myself to make sure I got the right postage. Dylan figured he would have a letter from Mathew soon. If you haven't received it by now, maybe i should have Dylan print it off again and resend it.

Wayne - Didn't you say your doc's came with a letter explaining drydock or something. Well, I didn't receive that.

Still trying to catch up on the last 5 pages.

Hey, I wanna see "Schlong man". Or, at least I think I do... Maybe I should be a good mom and leave the kids in the club. Don't want to scar them too much!!! :rolleyes1 Oh, they'll get over it. :teeth: PandP...too funny about your grandmother...maybe you should tell her. ;)

OK, now I want to start packing. But, I can't decide what to bring. :p Deep down, I love the adrenaline rush of last minute packing.

Take care!

Sara, I had the hardest time figuring out where "PandP" came from because my screen name is supposed to be Pearland Paige. Then I realized that others might read it as Pearl and Paige, hence the PandP. Isn't it funny how differently people see things? Anyway, I don't know anyone named Pearl, but I do live in Pearland, a not-so-small suburb of Houston with absolutely no pears other than those available in the grocery stores.

Btw, guys, I need some help figuring this one out. I was thinking about upgrading to a bigger room because the more I thought about me, my 6'4" DH, my Grandmother and my DS all in a room together with a pack 'n' play, the more the walls started closing in on me, and also because I apparently think I have money to burn. So I called DCL and they told me that all the rooms higher than my category are sold out. But when I checked online, the DCL website would allow me to book a Category 4 GTY. Why would they let me book online if they were sold out? Or why would they tell me they were sold out if they could shuffle some folks (i.e., downgrade some upgraded folks) and get me a room? I do not understand.

Can any of you who have cruised before give me a little comfort about the room size? We're in a category 5 now. I know people say you don't spend a lot of time in your room, but one of us will have to spend at least fourteen hours a day in there with my DS because he sleeps 12 hours at night and naps 2 hours during the day, so it's important to me that the room be comfy and not claustrophobic.

Why is that banana so happy? Because my docs are here! :teeth:  :earsboy:

I'm amazed they are here so early! Over 5 weeks before the cruise! (No, I'm not complaining! :teeth: )

I had the same letter that Wayne did about the Fitness Center being unavailable. I was also surprised to find Bahamas Immigration forms to fill out...When I filled those out for my Wonder cruise, I assumed they were just for Nassau, but I guess you have to fill them out even if your only Bahaman stop is Castaway Cay.
Schlong man
I'm surprised that first word didn't trip the DISBoards' word filter! :scared1:

I haven't decided which beach we will visit in St. Maarten, but according to what I've heard, no matter which beach you choose, there is a fair chance you will see a few body parts that you wouldn't normally see at the Mickey Pool! :rotfl:

Gotta go...I need to curl up with the "Passport to Disney Magic" booklet from the docs package. (Yeah, I know there probably won't be anything new in there, but I'll enjoy reading it anyway! :teeth: ) And sometime in the not too distant future, I get to look forward to writer's cramps while filling out 5 sets of docs! :earsboy:

If possible you could attach to an email and I will print it off for Mathew.

Sam, Brenda, Thanks for the geography lessons. Glad the family we met last year are away from the problems. I wish they were cruising with us this year as they are both dentists.

Wayne

Congrat's to Wayne, Marnie, & Sam on the doc dance. :)
Who's next? :confused3 :)

We're doing the beach rendevous too. It should be interesting to say the least. :bitelip:

Hi there -

I see that a few of us Oct 15th cruisers have received their documents already....I just received an email from Coleen @ MouseEars and she said that Disney has been slow getting docs out - arriving to her as close as 10 days prior :scared: .

Has anyone else booked with MouseEars or any other TA and received their documents??? I realize we are in a "Group" - over 20 of us are going, but I wouldnt think that would matter for printing documents.

Let me know if you have received yours yet - either thru this Thread or a Private Message.

Thanks again, you guys are all the best!!! :disrocks:
:earsgirl: pirate: :dog2: :paw:

Anyone want to make a "sucker bet"? I can almost assure you that I will the last one to get the documents. :guilty: I'm just lucky like that. We booked through AAA and our TA works only on Friday's and every other Saturday. Looks like she will be away from work for the next few Friday's too. We were hoping to have them by Sept 15th so we can read through them on our mini-getaway Sept 15th-Sept 19th. Our's will not arrive at our home via UPS. Our TA will get them first! I did send her an email and asked her to have someone at the office call us when they arrive. :earsboy:

My DS (Tony 24) read the post about Schlongman and asked how his picture ended up on the internet! Funny kid!!! :rotfl2:

Michelle....Happy Birthday to you!!! :bday: :cake:

One of the guys at work turns 60 tomorrow and we got him a stripper!! :cheer2: His wife works with us too.

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone!!
Nancy :wave2:
