Well, I studied History too

Funny ... I studied history too (at an engineering school no less!) and now I'm a Systems Engineer. Funny how life has its twists.

Ok...don't laugh, ....us two old folks want to go to a character breakfast. Is this something we need to "book" when we reach 75 days out?

Thanks,
Nancy :sunny:

no laughter here...the character breakfast is a wonderful time. there is no need to book this. If I remember correctly (someone update me if I am wrong), the character breakfast is the following morning after your visit to Animators Palate. You'll have a great time :jumping1:

Just got home from Cards / Cubs game... went eleven innings and we won on a suicide play with one out!! Woo Hoo!!!

I wish I could say that I'm sorry, Paul... ;)

Hope everyone stays cool this weekend...DH and I are going to hibernate after this evening's steambath with 49000 of our closest friends. :teeth:

Brenda

oh no! we fell to page 2 and our cruise is so close! we are also hibernating from the heat...i really do not want to see my elec bill this time around!

well, my hubby and i have discovered the dvd burner and i have spent all weekend figuring out how to use it! Since niether of us are that good at computers it has been a hoot! :rotfl: I wish someone in my household could walk me through everything.....i also have all the photo editing software that is used on the DCL picture of the day thread but i do not even know where to start to use that! I just figured out the digital camera a few weeks ago....it took great pictures outside but inside it would blur when my kids would move when taking pictures inside...after studying the manual i still had no idea what was wrong so i thought i would change to sports mode to see if that would help. while looking for those buttons i saw this tiny button near the front that said "Flash"! All this time for indoors i had never used the flash! Since the screen lit up i guess i assumed the flash was internal or something....but now my pics are great and we are ready to take tons of pictures on board!!! :cool1:

i have not checked the yahoo site in a while but my question is...do we have a room list of where everyone will be so we can leave goodies/notes for our fellow disers? or maybe a game of DIS tag might be fun..... :rolleyes1

happy monday!!!

there is in fact a place in the Who's going database that has room number. so tag away! :) just so long as I don't find a big St. Louis Cardinals magnet on my door, it sounds like it might be fun!

speaking of cardinals (he he) 2 out of 3 isn't bad :rolleyes1 and the one the Cubs did lose was REAL close.... it seems the normal rivalry... no matter if both teams are good or bad or one of each, these guys always duke it out! last nights 8-4 score doesn't really tell the story... a grand salami won it... 1-2, 6-5 and 5-4 (take out the 3 guys on base when the homer was hit)... my guess is that all 10 more games will look the same way... they just play each other SO hard!

ok... now that I've bored you non-baseball folks...
I spent the last two weekends in Cleveland... not to bad of a town... Last weekend the whole family went and Mollie went a doll convention (Strawberry Shortcake) and I took my girls to the Cleveland Metro Zoo (which is a very nice zoo). Stayed at an Embassy that had been built out of a tower of apartments, so they were big. This weekend I went there by myself to attend Promise Keepers. stayed at a comfort in, real close to downtown (aka Jacobs field and Gund Arena). To a guy, it was an ok place to stay... would I take wife and kids there... probably not...

so far I've registered the kids and that's it on the cruise.... not sure what excursions we want to do... we may do the Butterfly Farm on our own.. maybe we'll just rasul :goodvibes while the kids are in the club... :love2:

have a good monday!!
Paul

Paul, you're right... tight series all the way around. Dh and I were a little frustrated with both Saturday's game and especially last night's game - the Birds had ample opportunity to put each game away and just couldn't get it done. Granted, they are playing at about 50% right now...seems like everybody in the usual starting lineup is nursing some type of injury. Still, it was good to see three hard-played games. I think we can look forward to at least two more series between these guys before the end of the season.

What will be really interesting is whether or not the cubs can win the wild card race...right now my money is on Houston, but it's going to be tight race...have to keep an eye on the competition now!

Brenda :goodvibes

PS.... what is DIS tag?

Well a baseball rivalry - this could get good. Note to self--sweep the Promenade Lounge for sharp objects...SamR - you watch my back..I'll watch yours. :rotfl2: Hmmmmm Appears we will be crusing during the MLB playoffs...best wishes to your team (Go D-Baks) :rolleyes1 .

Brenda...gotta agree with you - H-town is really HOT right now. if they can keep up their current pace, they'll be a tough team to beat.

Question - can we use our Yahoo web site to submit post-cruise photos? I thought it would be a nice way to share some of our favorite shots. I love photography and really enjoy reviewing (OK - reliving) our vacation pictures.

Well...gotta finish packing the van. We are leaving to spend a few days with Nan's M/FIL at the rip-roar'n town of Alpine, AZ.

You all take good care...play nice...and I'll look forward in checking back at weeks end.

Kevin

DIS tag is a game where we pass along a green DIS mouse magnet from door to door...it says "tag you're it" and you have to pass it along to another DISer's door....maybe we could add when you pass the magnet to another door you leave a goodie in the fish clip...it could be something really little and inexpensive....just an idea.... :flower:

Hmmm wonder if Lily or Grace would fit on one of those fish clips?? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't know... maybe toothbrushes or floss? :teeth: maybe one of those reduced dental plans... :teeth: :teeth:

Later,
Paul

we can make the "rules" be whatever we want them to be....and no, kids cannot be dropped off at someone else's door :rotfl2: (just let them run all over the ship).... :rolleyes1

not everyone has listed a room number on the yahoo site....if we play this we do not want to leave anyone out so let's update all of our rooms so we can play!

I am making door signs...is anyone else? Last year i forgot mine in the car :sad2: but that will not happen this time!!!!

Note to self--sweep the Promenade Lounge for sharp objects...SamR - you watch my back..I'll watch yours.
You got it! :teeth: I'll call the Big Cheese and tell him to round up Goofy and the Boys for extra security for the Meet... :rotfl:

Personally, I mostly view baseball as a great way to kill time while waiting for football season, but I am somewhat of a Braves fan. But given the condition of the Braves bullpen this year, I suspect that I will have lost all interest in baseball by the time we're cruisin'. :rolleyes2
DIS tag is a game where we pass along a green DIS mouse magnet from door to door...
Sounds good, be we need to work the "molar express" logo in there somewhere! :teeth:
I don't know... maybe toothbrushes or floss?
Hey, I've got some extra "disclosing tablets"...You know, those red tablets that you chew after brushing to identify the spots you're missing? We gotta encourage good dental habits! :rotfl:
I am making door signs...is anyone else? Last year i forgot mine in the car...
I plan to make door signs. Of course, I planned to last year, but in the last minute rush to get ready for the trip, the door signs became a casualty. I'd better start making those signs soon...Only 1864 hours until my vacation starts! :teeth:

Count us in on the DIStag game. Sounds like fun. If we decide to leave little gifts behind, remember room 7562 prefers cash!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We also have tons of stateroom door magnets for the cruise. I made a few myself, a friend of ours is hand-drawing one for us, and I recruited a few new friends on the DISboard to make some for me. (Thanks, Verandahman and Donaldsgal)!!! :love2: Donaldsgal (Jenny) has mine posted on the board but I don't know how to do that myself so you guys can see them. :confused3

Only 89 days until our vacation begins!!!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Nancy :flower:

We'd be up for that. Probably want to make a list of people who want to take part so that we have a list of room numbers to take with us AND so that people who do NOT want to take part can make sure they don't find themselves tagged!

Have I mentioned that I am getting VERY excited? BOUNCE BOUNCE!

let's get the party started!

i think we could easily incorporate the "molar express" logo...for the computer literate...could you just make it bigger and print it on card stock with the "Tag, you're it" or something like it and you could start us all off.....i would but i am severely computer challenged!

DIS tag sounds like a lot of fun!!! :flower:

OT, but...two more weeks till school starts!!!!
(bad mommy  )

Have a good week.

Sara

Sara...i am with you...school starts Aug. 18 here! Woohoo!!! :cheer2:

the only bad thing is that my oldest starts middle school (can he be that old already) this year and the bus comes at 7:15am :guilty: that means i have to get up extra early!

Kathy...

I'm pretty bad when it comes to using this computer too. :badpc: I had to have others make my stateroom magnets for me (well, some of them anyway). :teeth:

I printed off the list of us from the yahoo site, but I guess we do have to find out who wants to be in on it. (Good idea Kathy). I just assume that everyone wants to play with us!! :rotfl:

Brenda....

Are we still going to have pins? Sure hope I didn't miss out on them.

Michelle...

Told my co-workers about meeting you for High Tea. No one seems to know what it is. Told them it's just a tea party for adults...right??? :confused3

The countdown continues....
