Molar Express update:

BTW: gotta love the thread about: "Can I bring my Gamecube and plug it into the TV?"

Seems like that is a family that could save a whole lot of money by staying home to play Gamecube! :)

Paul,

Sorry to hear about your DW's dental woes. The good thing about my last dental procedure (extraction plus bone graft) was that it was extensive enough to require IV sedation. (I preferred it that way...Just wake me when it's over!)
...how are the other Molar Express members doing?
Fully recovered from round one, thank you very much! Ask me again after the implant in a few more months. :scared1: (Bring on the sedation again! :) )
...gotta love the thread about: "Can I bring my Gamecube and plug it into the TV?"
Hey, my boys would probably bring theirs if I would let them! One of the advantages of a family vacation is getting them away from that thing for awhile.

i just made ressie for the night before the cruise at the radisson, port canaveral. everyone says that is a really nice place to stay. i also reserved the first bus at 1000am to the port. WHEW! I cut it close! Almost didn't make my ressie in time! :rotfl:

My husband is ready to kill me if i do not shut up about the cruise....i also posted on the thread about the gamecube on board...my kids were never THAT bored! At least not while there was free food on board! :mickeybar

spring is slowly coming here...we had some days in the upper 70's. Feels like cruisin' weather!

Last time I checked it was too high! We won't need the shuttle this year since we will have a car. I want to drop it off ASAP on that morning so we can get too port by 10:30. :goodvibes

I also found out some REALLY GOOD NEWS on Thursday at Parent Teacher conference!!!! They let me see next year's school schedule and I could not have planned this cruise on a better week!! WOO HOO! :cool1:

DD only has school Mon & Tues and Half day on Wednesday!! The best part is they are also off that Friday before we leave!! How did I get so lucky! :rotfl:

So now we can fly out Friday morning like I wanted too. We will be gone 9 days and she will only miss 2 1/2 days of school. :cheer2: Can you tell I am excited???

Oh yeah the Teacher did say she was doing Wonderful and there are no area's of concern!! Yippee! Where are my priorities??? :rotfl: LOL

Sooooo I was thinking instead of the Radisson this year that we may stay in Orlando and go to the Universal City walk that night.. We have never done that. Then we can get up early and drive to the Port. It is less than an hour drive.
We do love the Radisson though! :teeth:

Finding Nemo on Ice was wonderful! Even my 13 year old Neice loved it!

Go see it if it comes to your City!

the got the cruise rate of $119/nt which includes keeping my car there during the cruise which really means it only costs $50 (plus tax)...it does not include breakfast buffet but i am not upset...more room to eat on the cruise! We will just bring some cereal with us for that morning. We also made ressies to be on the first shuttle from the hotel to the port. This shuttle leaves at 10:00 and they say we will be there within 15min. I tried to use priceline but i never offered more than $40/night for either a 2 or 3 star hotel. I did not try to bid on a one star because I have never used them before and have to admit i am scared of the unknown...i figure the extra 10 bucks is worth peace of mind and knowing my kids will be able to play at a real pool before the cruise... :rotfl:

Oh, by the way, i talked to Stan at the Radisson to get this rate and was referred to him by Michael and Dana at Cruise Planners Travel Agency and fellow disers. I also called just reservations and the lowest rate they gave me was $109/nt for AAA members but i am not a member so oh well....

we are also driving...it takes about 20 hours. We will leave the thursday afternoon before the cruise when my kids get out of school, they also will be on fall break for part of the cruise and will only miss 4 days of school. We plan to get into the port area early afternoon, take it easy, and go to bed early in order to be rested for the trip. :cloud9:

we got a cold blast here :cold: i hope my budding trees will be okay....Good to hear parent teacher conference went okay...it took some time for my kids to get out of vacation mode last fall when we returned home...i am hoping since they will not miss so much school this time that it will be better... :teacher:

You will love the pool at the Radisson. It is really nice. :sunny: Last night Gary and I talked more about this trip and I am pretty sure we are going to go ahead and fly out on Thursday evening now. Then we can do something fun on Friday before the cruise. I asked DD if she would like to do MK or AK for a day and of course she picked MK. ::MickeyMo I would prefer AK since it closes by 5:00. We will see. So I guess I will keep my eye open for Discount codes at WDW for Fall. :goodvibes

You have a long drive! We hope to get those great $59 rates from Southwest. :cool1:

All of us from this thread will probably be in the front of the line to board that morning! LOL :rotfl:

he he he gota love the 5 week months.... seems wierd to see the tickers say 6 months 4 weeks...

come on SWA!!! open up into October!!! then drop the prices!!! I now waffling (thanks BJ98 :rolleyes1 ) on maybe flying in on Friday AM if DD has kindergaten off on Friday... or going after school on the 7PM flight... arrive in Orlando at 10AM on Fri or 9:30 PM.. hmmmm guess it all depends on school... I might as well get used to it... :teeth:

Later,
Paul

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

We too, are looking at flights. Southwest doesn't fly out of Mn, but AirTran does & they have pretty good deals. They too, don't have their October schedule out yet. We could have gotten a pretty good deal w/ Continental about 2 months ago, but we thought we'd wait. Once you have your air reserved it makes all your plans more definate. I can't wait!!! :Pinkbounc I'm getting so excited. My excitement goes in spurts and when people ask..."when's your trip?" and I sheepishly reply..."October." Let's just say that, that look get's in their eyes. Like maybe "certifiable?" "A couple french fries short of a happy meal?" "A couple tea bags short of a tea pot?" Okay, I have a little time on my hands this morning. :teeth:

~Hope everyone is doing well, staying healthy, and not booking anymore tickets for the molar express. :teeth: ~Jen :flower:

Hope the molar expresee's are hanging in there. The reading of your experiences makes me want to visit the dentist...NOT! Ouch!!! I have to agree with, thank goodness for sedation. Makes it so much more pleasant. Next week, I'll be taking DS to get a cavity filled. Not sure if I can join the molar express, since it's not very bad. Although, I'll be hearing the tsk, tsk lecture!!! FIL is a dentist! :earseek: Help!

Now, on to better topics! :flower: This morning I was having a cruise talk with DH and all I got was blank stares!!! :confused3 I'm so glad for the DIS. Other addicts like myself! :p "We" came to the decision to take a town car to the port Saturday morning. I was leaning toward the cattle herd...bus...but town car is cheaper. (and we can stop to pick up drinks) We've already got our airline tickets. We'll be flying in Friday night. I'm so jealous of those who are going to Disney before. :teeth: I love to extend trips!

As for cruise morning, we should have our DIS meet in the terminal, since it seems like we will all be there early!!! :goodvibes

DH recorded the DCL show this morning...off to watch it! Hope everyone is having a good week!

Sara

We are planning on dropping our rental car off early and having them drop us off at the port between 10 and 10:30. :cool1: :flower: :cool1: We want to board ASAP.....Then 2 glorious days at sea!! :cloud9: I can't wait!

I think I will print our Yahoo group list off before we go and have it with me at the Port. We have a pretty big group. :grouphug:

Don't worry Jen.....I get the same looks from people! You would think my trip was next week as much planning that I have been doing. I know my Co-Workers get sick of hearing me talk about it. LOL :teeth: Oh well.......

Bye :wave2:

yeah...my coworkers can't believe i am "still" talking about it...i think they were hoping that after my big disney trip in nov 2004 i might be quiet about it for a while but no such luck!

by the way, how much are you paying for a town car from the airport to the cruise terminal? i am just curious...

I hear you on that one txaggie94... We too, made a big trip October 2004 to both WDW and Disney Magic cruise. After that, all my friends, family AND DH included thought that would be the end of it. NOT! The cycle continues with the planning of this trip, but I am trying ever so hard to tone it down. (hehehe) :rotfl:

Anyway, everyone have a GREAT weekend! We are getting snow(ed) here in "lovely" Minnesota. :cold: :)

Bumpity, bump!! :goodvibes We're in danger of falling below the gum line here, folks.

Hope everyone has a good Easter - I'm going to be scarce for a while. Hired two new people at work who will be starting in the next couple of weeks - in the long run that's a good thing but in the short term it means that I have to handle all the commercial lending requests for an entire region while squeezing in all of my managerial crap at the same time. Thank goodness for vacation - DH and I are headed to New Orleans the first week of April where we intend to eat and drink ourselves silly. Beignets, shrimp, bananas foster...lots of wine...take me away! :)

May your porcelain implants shine on and fit oh-so-comfortably. :teeth:

See ya'll in April

Brenda

pirate: My mom, dad, sister, and myself are goin on Oct. 15. Also, my church's preacher and his wife and 2 sons are goin. C U there! :cool1:

Does anybody know if any other teens are goin?

Just made our ressie yesterday for the Oct. 15 cruise. Can't wait!!

Greetings tubaman and VA_Mouseman!

glad to see you joining us.... Due to a number of dental issues on our thread, we have deemed this trip the Molar Express. right now, we are planning a DIS meeting on water ski's behind the Magic on Sunday.... 2nd place is a Palo brunch meet.... so guess we'll see.... we have also created a yahoo group which you can join if ya want (no one will twist yer arm to do it...) but if yer a overplanner like most of us, you'll prolly want to... to save you looking through all the posts here's is the link:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DCL-October-15-cruisers/

on the group you can add your info, do polls post... whatever...

Hope everybody had a 1drfull Easter!

Cool! More people! It is going to be an excellent trip.

We are from Northern VA too. Centreville, to be exact!

just over 6 months to go...WOW - I can hardly wait. Am I alone...the people I work with...just don't get it. I try to share how awesome these trips are...little to no reaction. Oh well - more jumbo shrimp at the sail away buffet for me.
We have turned into quite a large group. Welcome to the new members of the 'Molar express'. Hope you find your way to Paul's Yahoo site...it's a great place to share ideas and help us 'get through' the next 6 months til we celebrate some Disney Magic.
We are very excited - A few weeks ago...my mother agreed to go with us. Our DU agent was able to add her to our second room. We are soooo excited as Mom rarely does ANYTHING for herself. Our DD's will be able to share some 'special time' with their Nana - Nan's parents joined us in Jan of 2003...think this helped Mom make up her mind to join us.

just over 6 months to go...WOW - I can hardly wait.
Same here. With the loss of our beloved HTML-based countdown timers, we no longer see the "days until..." countdowns, but (by my math) today we reach the "200 days until the Molar Express" milestone. That's right, just:

 200 Days and Counting!
