Darn it Paul...now I have to retract my last post too. It was funny until I hit the old refresh button and read your response.

TA just e-mailed and our Documents are in!!!!! Woo hoo!! She is sending them out today!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I AM HAVING SUCH A MAGICAL DAY!!!! :wizard:

Congrats to you Michelle. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Checked my voice mail at home and email messages but none for me!! :guilty:

Looks like it's giandave (Gia) and me that are still waiting. :hourglass

Anyone for that "sucker bet" I was talking about earlier???

Nancy :wave2:

Wow! :earseek:
I feel like I’ve missed out on a lot…the hurricane, spiders, Nancy’s dog, every ones bios.
Our computers crashed at home and & I’ve been very busy at work. I actually printed off the last 15 pages or so and read through them during lunch… Ok, so I took a longer lunch... & it took me two days.

We have become quit a group!! Welcom to all the new members! :thewave:

Paige - CM has updated their Disney Snap pack to include lion king stickers and other characters.

VA_mouseman - I have to agree with you on the Lost thing. I can't wait to watch tonights episode.

Wayne - I emailed Mathew a letter from Dylan, it's from my work email.

B4 I start in on our bios, I just had a question in regards to the tag game. Are we suppose to get one little gift per diser or are we to give a little something to everyone in the cabin? All the things I’ve picked up are Disney related and I’ve tried to keep the kids in mind. Is that ok?

Our bios…
My name is Marnie (31) and I am a single mother. I have one son, Dylan (11). His father left when I was pregnant and I have only heard from him once when Dylan was 5 months old. He has never attempted to contact us since.
I work for Exmark Mfg. which is owned by Toro. I am the Administrative Assistant to the Sr. National Sales Manager. Ok, I know… that just makes me a secretary. :) And for all those scrappers out there, I am also a Creative Memories consultant. My basement is set-up 24-7 for Scrapbooking. I am not one of those pushy CM consultants, in fact I use every kind of product I can get my hands on. I have a rolling 3-drawer storage unit filled with Disney supplies - currently trying to finish 2002 WDW family trip. We try to do Disney every other year, this will be our first Cruise. :boat:
I collect nesting dolls and Kiss memorabilia. Dylan collects fossils, Disney pins, and Lego’s. Currently I play pool for a women’s league and a scotch doubles league. But I would have to say that my life does revolve around my son and all the activities he is in. He is a natural athlete and participates in track & field, baseball, golf, and soccer. He prefers soccer over everything and dreams of being a professional soccer player one day. 2nd would be golf, he currently out plays his grandpa. He is a Boy Scout, plays the violin, member of a competing reading team, and enjoys archery. We have a dog named Lady… can any guess what bread she is???? :dog:

Ok, I think that’s it.

It's good to be back!

Hey Brenda,

I am sure you are familiar with "Dave Murray" from Fox 2...Well for everyone else he is a Weatherman in St.Louis...My Favorite one!! :sunny: Anyway I e-mailed him the other day with my concerns about the tropics and my cruise...I did not think I would get a response, but he himself e-mailed me back that same day...He seems very positive about our timing and said to check back with him about a week before we leave town. I will try to copy it to this post... So I am praying he is right!!!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
We want SUNSHINE and CALM SEAS!!

Just wanted to put all our minds at ease!!

September 26, 2005
Current weather: clouds/sun and 73 degrees
38.64 North/90.23 West

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for your e-mail and nice comments...the tropics
have been wild this year and the season still has a
ways to go...but I like the timing of your trip...I
think the core action that is left...will be from now
until October 5th..then start to quickly drop off...but
it does not end..signs point to one more major storm in
that now to October time frame...but also point to a
major storm possible in November. Lets keep an eye on
things...may want to check back in about a week before
you leave...but right now that time frame is looking
pretty good for the cruise.

Hope this helps.

Dave Murray

Don't forget to check out our weather page on the
web...all kinds of neat stuff.

Wasn't that nice??? I will check back with him too!!

Way to go Michelle!!! :cool1:

Now Nancy, lots of pixie dust :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
Hope this works :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Just thinking........but is anyone planning on booking another cruise when aboard???? :earboy2:

Brenda... started reading your pages and pages of great info! Decided to wait until the boss leaves and will print it out so Chuck and I can read it this Sunday during breakfast.

Thanks for posting that for us.

Nancy :wave2:

Michelle,
that's a fabulous idea! And so cool that the Davester actually responded! I've been checking the NOAA website and forecasts and satellite images every day for the past month hoping that we get a good stretch of weather for the cruise.

Glad you guys liked the trip reports...I really did forget all about them until I read those posts about the Food and Wine Festival and then it was like a lightbulb went on in my head...it's been pretty dark in there lately! :teeth:

...oops I better read the posts better....

Gia...here's for you ....lots of pixie dust too!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hi Crazy for Mickey.... I have a 12 yr. old, Billy, I thought for sure he would'nt have many his age, but I was wrong!!! My son also likes soccer and golf...swimming too!! :goodvibes

Michele,
I just love that you emailed the local weather guy :teeth: ...and received personalized weather forecast for us!!!....that is too cool!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I think there are several DIS children in that age range. My oldest son, Scott, is twelve. He likes playing soccer, too. He also likes playing trumpet, reading (especially Harry Potter and books of that type), and of course, playing video games.

Anyone here ever had the cabana massages on castaway cay? I made the mistake of reading the "bad massage experience" thread (what was I thinking? :confused3 ) and everyone but me seems to have a horror story about how awful their massages and spa experiences were.

We had nothing but great experiences with the spa last year but now I'm growing a bit nervous about our scheduled cabana massage. I've only ever heard good things about it - and I wanted to try it mostly because we're probably not going to be sailing DCL for quite some time after this (other places to go and see) and it seemed like a fun and romantic way to end the week.

Any thoughts? I mean other than generally avoiding threads like that two weeks before vacation. :teeth:

Sam - I think you are right. Taking a look at our yahoo list, there does seem to be quit a few around this age group.
DS will turn 12 this December and he most definetley enjoys video games. Speaking of which... How much is the arcade cards?

Nancy & Gia - sending you some pixie dust! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Brenda - I don't think you have too much to worry about. Personally, I haven't had the cabana massage but it sounds very relaxing.

Michelle - Great idea about the weather guy! Does this make you our official weather gal?! :umbrella: :sunny:

Michelle,

I like your forecaster's predictions far better than what I saw in the Houston Chronicle today:

Meteorologists examining the conditions that spawned hurricanes Rita and Katrina say there is a strong likelihood another intense hurricane will occur in October.

And while late-season storms tend to track eastward toward Florida or don't make landfall at all, the experts don't rule out the possibility of another major storm targeting the battered Gulf region.

Researchers also warn that the country should brace for 10 to 40 more years of powerful storms because of a natural ocean cycle now in the midst of the most active hurricane period on record.

"This has been the seventh hyperactive year since 1995," said Stan Goldenberg, a meteorologist with the Hurricane Research Division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

"Not every year is going to be like this one, but there's going to be plenty of active years to come," he said.

The hurricane season does not end until Nov. 30, and a leading forecast group is predicting that October will see two hurricanes, one of them reaching Category 3, 4 or 5. The chance of that storm making landfall in the United States is set at 21 percent, said Philip J. Klotzbach, a member of the tropical storm forecasting team led by William M. Gray of Colorado State University.

Klotzbach's forecast does not address where hurricanes make landfall or whether the Gulf Coast could be a target again.

Not great news... Now where did I put that pixie dust... :wizard:

JUST THINKING....

Michelle in Missouri got her docs today. Florida to Missouri via ups = 2 days.
Florida to Wisconsin via ups = 3 days. Maybe tomorrow!!!!! :teeth:

Paige,

Dave did say he see's another major storm by October 5th and then it will drop off dramatically and pick up again by November..So he did say earl October!! They better go away for our trip is all I have to say.... ;)

I will e-mail him a week before we go and see what he thinks.

Pray for Sunshine and smooth sailing...We don't want to deal with any Hurricanes!! :sunny: :sunny:

Called DCL and they got Gary on main dining with Jo Jo and I!! Yippee!

Starting to rain again!!! Heading to my Kickboxing class!! :umbrella:

Brenda :goodvibes

Dear, dear Brenda.... :flower:

After reading all 15 pages of your crusie report from last year, :worship: I have a ton of questions and some rather funny speculations... :rotfl:

I chose to post this here rather than a PM just in case anyone else has the same questions although I think we are the only 1st timers on this board.

Does MMNSHP cost extra besides our admission to the Magic Kingdom? We may go there Saturday night after our cruise. :maleficen

I see that during your cruise formal night was on Monday. Ours is Sunday, right? princess: I purposely requested APLAPLA so that we would end up in Parrot Cay (the least formal of the dining rooms) on formal night. Our dinner companions (Jo and Danny) will be at Palo that night.

The Bridge Tour...is that something I need to sign up now for? Do they have one every day or just certain days? Sounds really interesting. :cheer2:

Your itinerary doesn't sound familiar. Were you rerouted for weather reasons? :umbrella: I take it you went on the Western, but Costa Maya doesn't sound familiar.

I'll be sure to try one of those mochachinos at the Cove Cafe. :drinking1 I did give up candy, cake, cookies, pie and icecream on December 28th last year and haven't had any since. I may have to give myself a Mulligan for this trip because of all the ymmy things I've been reading about.

BTW...I find it rather amusing how you remembered all the names of the alcoholic beverages you had all week, but your mind slips when it comes to the names of the desserts, or if you even had any. I guess that's where we would differ. I would tend to forget any beverage, but would be able to not only name each dessert, but could give a play by play of each one. I could probably even get anyone out there to be able to taste it themselves after I'm done with my description.!! :rotfl2:

The Rainforest...I take it, it's NOT the same as the Rasul. FOUR HEATED LOUNGERS???? :confused3 Do we partake with others at the same time? If not, we may have to try this one since we have not planned any spa visits.

Glad to see that DCL offers a lot of chicken selections. I'm not much of a meat eater except for fish or chicken. Absolutely no pork or beef (except hamburger) for this girl. Funny, I will eat the cheapest and most confusing beef. :teeth: I just don't like the taste or the texture of meat. I would just cry and maybe even die (ok...over dramatic now) if I had to eat a steak. I'd look like some little 3 year old, hanging my head and bawling over my plate.

Lastly, remind me again...Character Breakfast at Parrot Cay on the morning after we have dinner at Animators, right? Is it always at PC? Do we get to go twice during the week since we eat dinner at AP twice? :Pinkbounc

WHEW...that was a long post. Hopefully you can answer some of my many, many questions.

Thanks Tons B,

Nancy

Nancy, darling...

15 pages?!?!?!?! Wow - I had no idea it was that long...but I do like to write. :teeth:

Let's see what I can help with....

1) Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom. You can purchase tickets in advance from WDW which is probably a good idea if you're going on a weekend. It's such a fun, cute evening - I highly recommend it!

2) Formal night - on the Western it is on Monday night... on the cruise we are taking next month Formal night is on Sunday. A good rule of thumb is that formal night is held on your first full "at sea" day on the ship.

3) Bridge Tours - you sign up for this at guest services on board the ship - however...I've heard that with the new changes to the spa they will be eliminating this tour because there will no longer be a walkway over the bridge to accomodate the tour. DCL doesn't allow you in the bridge proper due to safety regulations.

4) Our itinerary was changed last year because one of the many hurricanes that popped up in the Atlantic last year trashed Grand Cayman before we cruised - DCL routed us to Costa Maya instead. The typical Western itinerary is Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Castaway Cay.

5) I couldn't remember dessert because I was too tipsy --- --- and because most of them weren't that memorable in my opinion. Cove Cafe is fabulous, though. Between their mochachinos and Cafe du Mond coffee in New Orleans earlier this spring I am now hooked on the 'mean bean.' :teeth:

6) Ah... the rainforest room... :cloud9: It is a public area (well, you have to have a pass that you show at the spa front desk.) The main room is completely tiled...there are four heated loungers on one side...a fountain in the middle, and a long tile bench on the other side. There is also a gentle sauna room (loved it!), a regular sauna room, a steam room, and some showers. It is co-ed and everyone must wear a bathing suit - they will give you a robe to wear over your suit in case you don't want to let it all hang out! It's open from 8AM to 10PM - first come first serve and can get crowded on those "at sea" days. We found that a lot of people only stay there for short periods of time, unlike us...we'll hang in there for at least an hour at a time...sometimes longer. We love it - very relaxing. You can buy a single day pass for $15 per person or multi-day passes if you become junkies like Jay and me. Go up to the spa on embarkation day and ask if you can take a look at the rainforest room - they'll let you go in for a minute and you can see what you think before spending any money.

7) Character breakfast is the "at-sea" morning after the night you have dinner at Animator's. So depending on your dining rotation you could have it on Sunday, Monday, or Thursday morning. You only get one character breakfast - that's to allow everyone on board ship a chance to go - and it is always held at Parrot Cay.

Is that everything? Did I cover it all? Created even more questions?? :earsboy:

Hope this helps...

B. :goodvibes
