October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

I read on a trip report that DCL buses took passengers from the airport to two resorts first and then to Port Canaveral. I was under the impression that once you boarded the bus at the airport you just ride straight to the Port, is this not true? Our flight lands at 9:30 am the morning of the cruise and if we are going to be touring around before hand I think I might just rent a car instead.....:confused3

I wish I could share some experiences about DCL transportation - sorry I've not used them before. We've always used a rental car...but...we've always had a day or a week before at the parks. I used to recommend DCLtribute(dot)com...however this *wonderful* web site is no longer. I have the rental info printed out and can fax it to you - if interested. Just pm me with a fax number...and I'll get it your way.

Hello again! Woo Hoo! The internet people repaired my broadband and I am up and running again. I also get a new PC in a week or so. Good thing I took out that rider on all our PCs, one is completely useless and the other two had to be repaired.

OUTSTANDING!!! Great news - welcome back!!! Hope all gets repaired/replaced as painless as possible.

I second Shirley and theperfectgift.cc !! Last time I had one basket sent to our room for DD and DH. I told Shirley how much I wanted to spend and what I wanted in it. She is wonderful. It was a great surprise for both of them. Of course there will be another waiting in our room on October 13th!
I must add a THIRD plug for Shirley. Not only are her services OUTSTANDING she is a FANTASTIC person. You can purchase items in your hometown and send them to her...request special items and they will be in your stateroom. Nan and I can only agree on 1 or 2 bottles of wine...regretfully neither are offered on the ship...Shirley purchased them and added these to our basket. I'll be calling her within the next few days to have our basket prepaired. I won't be disappointed - neither will you.

To All: Don't know where anyone else is in the school department but school starts for Lil tomorrow. I can't believe my little girl is going to kindergarten. Boo Hoo Anyway, to all of you who have kids starting back to school next week, I wish them all great success during their school year. Talk to ya tomorrow after I've survived the first day of kindergarten. Kristi
Our DD's started 2 weeks ago. My Nan still has a hard time with sending them off to school - each and every year. My opinion...Lil will do wonderfully...best wishes that you celebrate this time as she grows.

we (Cruise-A-Paloozan's), still need to discuss a day/time/place for a DIS meet - and to pass out DIS Tag lists. We can always meet at port...however some may have transportation issues that will not allow all to get together. I'd like to pass a vote for Sunday afternoon - maybe around 2 or 3 pm. I'd love to suggest one of the lounges - however they do have some events we might compete with. I'll toss a suggestion in the ring....what about Deck 9...mid ship side of the Cove Cafe? OK...enough from me...what do all of you think???

I do have a Woo Hoo moment....I think the tempature has finally dropped below 100...The Diamondbacks (sorry to the Padre and Cub fans) won in a great game today...I am sooooo looking forward to this years MLB playoffs...is anyone else a B-ball fan??? Will I have anyone to root with (against) during the baseball playoffs???

OK...I'm done...am tired and turning in shortly. Have a great week to all. My tirp to Sedona and helicopter ride is this Thursday...SO...I'll have some extra work to prepare for a 'knock off' day - forgive me if I'm away and not able to sign on.

The countdown continues...we are getting closer...any one getting EXCITED???

I think thats a good idea.:thumbsup2

Hey Kevin. I agree with bevtoy. Your idea of when/where/time to meet works great for us. It means that we don't have to panick (I'm good at that) if we aren't at the port in time for the meet n greet.

It's nice to know we're not alone in how hard it is to send the kiddos off to school. Both Richard and I took her to school (which she didn't mind - go figure). It helped that she was attending kindergarten at the place where she did her pre-k class. Wasn't really new. We think next year will be harder with a new school, etc.

Another note, my DH is a HUGE baseball fan. He plays softball on one of our church's many teams and LOVES it. He takes his daughter to minor league baseball games as often as possible (here in Harrisburg it's the Harrisburg Senators - they're not very good this year but it's a great daddy/daughter date) and the teams he cheers for are the Baltimore Orioles and the Kansas City Royals. So I'm sure he'll LOVE to talk about baseball with ya.

As far as your helicopter trip, I would LOVE to go on a helicopter some day. Sounds like lots of fun. :) I am speaking for myself when I say that I'll forgive ya for not responding on Thursday. :) HEEE HEEE

And, last but not least, I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO Excited! This week stands to pass by very quickly as I'm working for 4 people this week (I'm helping out one of the secretaries who is out on vacation this week) and I'm the backup bookkeeper today. OYE! Take it easy all! Talk to you soon! Kristi

Has anyone suggested a grass skirt send off party? We did this on the 11 day...it was called the Grass Skirt Fraternity. They even had the bartenders making a grass skirt drink!:thumbsup2 We meet midship on deck 11, it made for some great pics. "Hollywood" even doned a grass skirt for the sailaway party! Hollywood was leading the sailaway party on deck 10. It was limited to the guys wearing grass skirts, but I say everyone should wear one on this trip... :yay:  It was a great place to put screen names to faces. We even wore the grass skirts to the mandatory Boat drill:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just a suggestion....

I just had this question answered for me. Thought others my have the same question. We have been saving spare change in a decorated coffee can for some fun money on the cruise. Today I asked how to add money to our shipboard credit before the crusie. Accroding to DCL:You may call DCL
(1-800-601-8455) and give them your CC info. Benefits: you speak to a real person and the credit is added right away. Or you may mail them a check or money order to: Disney Cruise Vacations PO Box 277763 Atlanta, GA 30384. Be sure to include instructions to add it to your shipbaord credit. Don't forget all the vital info: name, sail date, cabin #, reservation #, etc. This must be received 21 days prior to travel. Benefit: it's not on your credit card!

Keith - we had decided to wear Mardi Gras beads the day we set sail. The skirts sound like fun but beads are easier to pack. (Alright- it will be easier for me to get DH to wear beads then a skirt.)

Hey all! Regarding the grass skirts, I think it would be a hoot. However, I have to agree with seagee. My DH would never wear something like that. It would be MUCH easier to get him to wear a lime green shirt or mardi gras beads or something "simple". I wish he would do it though. It'd be a hoot and a half just to see. :)

Alright. Did anyone feel the earthquake that happened at my house? HEEE HEEE My DH actually said he'd be willing to wear a grass skirt. Will wonders never cease. :) What a hoot! Sooo, if the majority rules on this one and it's the grass skirt thing, we're in. If not, we're still in. :) Take it easy all! I'll be here recovering from the earthquake at my house. :) HEEE HEEE

Well I want to see the men in coconut bras with those grass skirts. :lmao:

Kevin,
Thanks for the Info, after talking to DW we are going to stay with the DCL bus as the rest of the fam will be flying in around the same time and it will likely be easier to let Mickey take care of us.

All,
I will definately wear some beads and so will DW, DD1 & DD2 but I don't think I could pull off the grass skirt.....not discouraging others however.:cool1:

Do you recognize what this is a picture of? Fresh from the oven, a shinning example of why we should leave gourmet cooking to the professionals.

Happy Monday to all,

“Some of our closest friends from Phoenix (the Fullmers - are more like family than friends) who will be on the cruise are geocachers. They are curious whether there are any other geocachers on this cruise?

They have identified possible caches on St. Marten, St. Thomas, and even Castaway Cay. Anyone interested in joining in some searches, or perhaps swapping some geocoins to speed their travels? “

Please let me know and I'll hook you up with them.

Thanks Kevin

Hey bevtoy. I'm LOVIN' the idea of coconut bras. :lmao: HEEE HEEE What a hoot.

To All! I realize it's looking like we're all going to meet up on Sunday. Are we going to wear beads? If so I'd like to pick them up next time I'm close to my party store. So give me a heads up please. :) Have a great day! :goodvibes Kristi

I'm guessing the Chocolate Souffle [sue-flay] (sp?) from Palo?

Yes, its Palos souffle......we made it last night and its delicious!

We are wearing the Mardi Gras beads so we can recognize each other at the port while boarding..

Bevtoy: Is there a specific color I should be looking for. I thought I had seen awhile back that lime green was the color but I'm not sure. Let me know. Also, do people go crazy with the beads (wearing many strands) or do they go simple? Just curious. Thanks! Kristi

Kristi, in regards to the beads we only wore one per person last time, but if you want to wear more go for it! :thumbsup2 I have already bought my beads and I have green, gold, purple, and blue, so I'll let the kids fight over what color they want and I'll wear whats left. :)

Oh, and in regrads to the coconut bras (for the men, that is)...I'm liking that too.

I have two strands to wear. One is silver and has a pirate bones theme , and the other I forget the color but I found them in with the kids toys. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the bead info. I'll get on it and get some fun beads for the fam! And yes, the coconut bras (for men ONLY) was pretty funny. :)

I'm LOL about the coconut bras!! Now THAT would be a picture worth posting :)

It's almost September, can you believe it?! We can almost say "we're cruising NEXT MONTH" :)

Ok, What are geocachers? :confused3

Thanks (I think)
