October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Thanks for the passporter link DisneyFamilyTX

Not to change the subject but those of you with girls, what will they be wearing on pirate night. My daughter thinks she wants to wear a tshirt with a pirate but I would like her to dress up a little more than that, just curios to what others were doing.

Here is DD Anna (10) in her pirate outfit. Our whole family DH myself, DD 17 and DD 10 are getting pirate outfits..........savvy? :-)

Ande think about it...big bonus for our cruise dates...it's in October, so the stores will be full of Halloween pirate gear!!!! Lucky us...although I got a bunch of cute pirate garb at Target last year when they had it in their $1 section. Hats, skull bandanas & earrings, tattoos, eye patches...fun! ;)

I haven't posted in a while. Been busy at work, home, trips to Disney World, getting a new truck........ the list just never seems to end. I just got caught up on all the new postings. And, I also want to welcome the new comers to our little thread.:cool1: (I'm not too late on welcoming you guys am I????)
Hey Bev those new magnets look great. It looks like you and your family will win the best decorated door prize. (There is a prize isn't there???) And Anna looks great in her pirate outfit.
I told DW for pirates night I wasn't going to shower or shave and maybe pull out a tooth or two to look the part. I could have my DD,(that stands for Dumb Dentist), pull the teeth for me. On second thought he would enjoy that too much. I probably would have to pay him to pull them too!!!!!:scared1: Oh well, I'll just wear my pirate t-shirt and enjoy all of the fun.
Speaking of Dentists, we found out Emily has to have braces. She ain't too excited about that!!! She starts next Monday with her first visit. Getting the impressions and x-rays. One of the techs at the dentists office showed Emily the different colors of braces she can wear. Of course they have green and green is Emily's favorite color. And they had little pink flowers on them too. She is going to have a big decision ahead of her, on what color to get.
Well I gots to go. Gots more readn' to due. Gots to git caugt up on ya'lls postn's. Only 93 days to go.:yay: :cool1: :thumbsup2

Bev, nice magnet prints. Is it an online print source you have found?

David, your little one will love the opportunity to change colors every visit. DS did that. Never knew what he'd pick.

Hi all! jenmack and d'Isigny-thanks for your replies...I think that we're going to go with the tux rental through DCL as well...one less thing to pack!!

I loved the picture of your girls at the butterfly farm. I have that on our list as one thing that we want to do.

I'm happy to see that other kids around Peyton and Mia's age will be on the cruise-they're all going to have a great time!!

Have a great weekend!! We're off to Niagara Falls for some R&R before I start a new job!!

DawnS-like bevtoy the entire porterfam will be dressing for the pirate theme (although hubby insists he's only wearing his "surrender the booty" pirate t-shirt! ha! I got a 4th of july dress (red white stripes) for my DD(3) at gymboree and am going to vamp it up with black pirate leggings, black sash, headwrap, etc. My son is deciding if he wants to wear his jack sparrow or captain hook costume...

bevtoy-that pic is great!! what are you wearing for pirate night? i can't find anything anywhere, but haven't given up!!

Hello All! I've been reviewing the excursions for our trip. One important detail appears to be missing from the descriptions.... the cost! :confused3 Does anyone know where the cost per excursions could be found? Thanks, Cathy

Cathy,

If you haven't found them yet, go here and click "Eastern & Western Shore Excursions" under Excursions/Shopping.

There's a full list of excursions with prices.

I might get a pair of black capris and belt a huge white shirt over a black stripped top I already have. I am also considering cutting up an old black skirt with jagged edges and belting a white over size shirt over it, nothing sophisticated or expensive. I have some of those black Crocs Primas that will do for a simple shoe. Anyone have any good pirate costume ideas?

I'm planning to wait until September/October to look for stuff. It's Halloween shopping time then, & there will be so many options in the stores or online! pirate:

Thanks everyone for your help on the excursions. I have never been to those websites before. I still can not decide what to do. Too many decsions to make!
Last time for Pirate Night - it was a surprise fo DH and DD. I hid the clothes from them. We went to dinner (dressed as usual) and during dinner I told them I brought with us pirate clothes. I was not sure if either of them would go for the idea but both did! After seeing the waitstaff and some fellow cruisers dressed up they were all for it. So after dinner we went back to change and went to the pirate party.

For DH I took a large black t shirt and cut it up, made an eyepatch, a gold fabric sash for his waist and a red and white stripped scarf for his head.

For DD she was dressed more like a gypsy. (Minnie dresses in a similar fashion this night) I got her a skirt (three teared)white peasant top, colored vest, scarf for her head and lots of jewelry.

Me: I wore black capris, white peasant top, red sash around my waist. It was easy to do and very fun. I have a picture of DD. Not sure I could post it. But I'll email it if someone wants to view it.

I liked the idea of vamping up the red and white dress! This would be perfect.

Hi everyone! Long time , no post from me...

For anyone who is interested, I did end up taking that $83/night room @ MCO on Hotwire. It's not the Hyatt. It is the Rennaisance. Okay with us because we are coming in early.

Can someone tell me, Do we (CC members) book Palo 3am early Saturday morning or 3am Sunday morning?

I'll be around more often now. I hope to talk to you all. I'll be making up some magnets as well and will post when they're ready.

Steve

OK...for those of you experienced (with kids) cruisers...

Would you take your young child on an extended Disney cruise (like any of the 14 day ones?) I know the 15 night repositioning cruises are already sold out, but for the future...just to know. My husband has never wanted to travel abroad (with the exception of the resorts we visit in Carribbean, Mexico, etc). But the thought of Disney cruise to these destinations, where you can return to "American comforts" nightly after the sights & sounds of your daily excursions makes the thought of foreign travel very appealing.

Anyway--just curious if you'd consider taking a child under 10 on a cruise like that? Thanks for any input.. ;)

Happy Friday to all!!! Hope each has great plans and fun-fun-fun. We are trying to keep from melting as it's been HOT in Phoenix. Reminder - our location is really only 6 minutes from the sun. :scared1:

Congratulations to all....I just noticed....we passed 1000 posts.

I may be the only hold out - but...just found some great deals on air fare. We were able to book on Southwest for $225 each, round trip. This is the best price I've seen all year. If you can leave on a Tuesday, Wednesday or a Saturday....they have a special going. Try the below link if you are interested - http://www.southwest.com/hotfares/hotfares_air.html?ref=fo1_hp_070710_nationwide

well...I've got some catching up to do on posts - my best to all.

You got a great rate from Phoenix. Do you have the "ding" downloaded from their website? I always get my best deals from the ding! lol. :thumbsup2

Less than three months away. Is anyone excited yet? :dance3: Everyone in our party has finally got their passports. Our DS has a friend tagging along with us and he finally received his, four months after going in for it. I know they are no longer needed because of the extension but hopefully they will get lots of use in the future.

Am I correct in that we can go on line early Sunday morning :surfweb: and make our reservations for Palo and excursions? If you are CC members, which we are. And if so; is it midnight CA time (making it 2 am Minnesota time)?

TIA

Hey everyone! Thanks for the links about the excursions. I learned that the dolphin encounter (dolphin portion) is only 30 minutes long. Plus you really don't see St. Marten. Has anyone done the dolphin excursion. The time for us to book is quickly approaching!!
