October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Great plan - good luck...get that video camera out...should be a fantastic moment.

it's prob me...but - today...I have no focus - i'm handling my work...just can't stop my mind from wandering - I gots the caribbean on my mind...can feel the warm air...hear the steel drums...and taste the rum - I got it bad today. Anybody have a cure - or suggestion for this ailment?

What I'm thinking we will do is spend a couple days at WDW and then tell them we are going to drive to the ocean and spend a couple days there. Of course, then we will drive over the bridge, see the ship and be like "Awww, I wish we were on there. Let's just drive over there and get a closer view" . And then I will hand them their documents and see how long til they figure it out

I forgot to mention, 2 of my DD's are having Birthdays On Board!
DD 5 and DD12. DD 12 wanted to be with her teen sissy (16) on the teen times events. LOTS of fun ie. black light Volleyball. They are hopeing to meet other teens (girls) thier age on this forum going on this cruise.....:goodvibes

I do....close your eyes
Put your feet in warm water, have a shot of rum, sit under a heat lamp and spray some coconut oil on yourself.....better now?
Works for me:thumbsup2

Hello All,

Welcome Jen-n-Greg!

APOOHFN, your close to us now! We too kept going back and forth, and finally decided we really would enjoy those moments on the verandah with our coffee....and yes, have to say those ADULT drinks! Can't wait! :yay: The more I read, I am sure hoping my DD(5) will LOVE the kids activities! Looking forward to the family fun, but would be nice to have some adult time! Forgot what that's like!! :laundy:

My DD16 has met a friend going on the cruise, and my DD12(will turn 13 the day we leave the cruise), would love to chat with new cruise friends!

Welcome Jen/Greg! The more the merrier:banana:

Homew3 - We're looking forward to meeting you and our fellow Cruisa-Paloozas! Adult drinks are always nice - can't wait to just relax and enjoy the ocean air.
My DU TA said there are still a lot of cat 5 rooms available if anyone else wants to change cats!

BigBen - your cabin is almost right below ours - wish I could stomp really loud had you been right below - haha!:yay:

d'Isigny, love mine black coffee but I'm sure I'l be looking for the flavored stuff for homew3, shes gotta have it. I wounder if we can buy it somewhere on shore/ship?:coffee:

if you have a rental car...there is a gas station/convience mart just before you drop your rental off. You shouldn't have any problem getting flavored creamer there.

Howdy to everyone and welcome Jen -n- greg!

I've been away from the board for a while and y'all have been busy.

I've been off researching / planning and found out some cool stuff. I switched my DCL reservation to a travel agent and ended up with some additional on-board credits. I've booked the night before at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach and got the one-way rental from Budget. Got my PassPorters last Friday and have been pouring through it. To cap it all off - they finally have adult Disney Crocs on the Crocs.com site - ordered! Now, just have to find a way to not go stir crazy waiting for 8 months.

Sorry to all those in the frigid north - it was 72 here in the Great State of Texas! Took me a while to catch up on all the board activity, but if someone could send me a PM with the yahoo site I'd love to see what else is going on.

All the best,
Tex

Received our Passporters book today and can't wait to start reading it!

DisneyTX - We, too, want to get a one-way rental thru Budget from the port to MCO but have no idea about our flights. Did you get your flight already or did you "wing it" on the return time?

If I put a return time of 2pm and return it a couple of hours earlier, would I get a partial refund? Anyone know??

TIA!

I booked thru Dreams Unlimited but didn't get any shipboard credits. My TA said I already had a special promotional rate so I wasn't eligible for the $100 credits.:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

APOOH - YOU'LL HAVE TO BRING A BUCKET AND STRING to pass things back and forth

I checked out the flights and looked at the most likely one we would take to Orlando. Given that arrival time I set up the rental. The consensus seems to be that Budget is the best service with a shuttle to the Port. I'm a rookie at this so I'm going from recommendations. I did read that its best to join their frequent renter program so getting the car is a breeze - it doesn't cost anything to join. I think someone posted a discount code on this thread earlier too.

Good morning everyone. :)

We have used Budget one-way both times we have cruised and it has worked out perfectly for us.

If you go to mousesavers.com, under Disney Cruise they have coupon codes there and they have them all the time.

In the past I have reserved our vehicle and if I have to make a change later I did and just used the same coupon code(s). It all worked out.

Also, the last time we cruised and we got shuttled back to the Budget office to pick up our car and drive back to the airport they couldn't find our reservation. Fortunately I had printed out all my reservations (car, hotel, etc). So, she shakes her head and says we don't have a reservation here for you and I whip out my printed copy of the reservation and 10 minutes later we are in the car and on our way, and all is good. :goodvibes But, don't get me wrong, we are using Budget this time too. Not everything or everyone is perfect, that is except me of course. :upsidedow

Thanks Kevin for the tip on the "coffe creamer store" near Budget. I'm holding you to it. I love my hazelnut coffee creamer, and I only drank my coffe last time from Cove Cafe. It got a little spendy. :surfweb:

Hey Jen, lovely morning, huh? No breeze, can see your own breath, but can't feel your toes, and it's a lovely cool -4 degrees. :) I'm thinking warm thoughts here. Castaway cay, snorkeling, and the beach at St Martens. Oh, and shopping! Can't forget the shopping! ;)

Thanks all for the rental car info!! I looked at Budget's website and put in the mousesavers coupon and for a one way rental from the port to the airport for 4 1/2 hours, it showed $48 (after tax) for an economy. Is that a good price??

Mmmmm....flavored coffee creamer. Thanks to Kevin, too!

What's black light volleyball? MY DD12 (will be 13 when we cruise) plays JO Volleyball so she would probably be interested :)

Good morning everyone. :)

Looks like a high of 10 degrees today :cool1: Somedays I wonder why I live here-- then I blame my parents:) Plus I couldn't give up the M.O.A. :rotfl: Castaway Cay sounds good - Wish I was there now. I've been hibernating in the house all week. My DD12 wants me to go to Target to get her new socks and I tell her it's too cold-- I'm such a wimp :rotfl2: But she has volleyball tonight so I guess I'll have to bundle up and go out, unless I convince DH to get off work early :thumbsup2

Hey to all - all says hey...

Day 2 - my body is at the office...but my mind is in the caribbean - looking for the rum.

Bigben....thanks for adding you photos on our Yahoo web site - good looking family. I do have one question...was - that - you ---- wearing the tutu!!! :woohoo: :worship: If any would like an invite to our (to be re-named -- shortly) web site...PM or e-mail me at the below link....our attendance/information is starting to grow.

kevin.smith@appl.ge.com;d_Isigny@msn.com

For car rental...using Mousesavers-com is a great tool for locating current deals. I highly recommend another for advantages/disadvantes of the different agencies (link below). This info is out-dated in regards to price - but some worth while information. If you spend some time on this site, you'll find some great maps...very-very detailed and helpful for people like me - I suffer from being 'directionally inept'.:rolleyes1

http://dcltribute.com/carhire/

APOOHFN - I would assume a 2 hour car rental rate is the same as a full day. $48 for a compact...sounds a little high. :grouphug: IMHO...and keeping you and your familys safety in mind...look into a larger car. I used to work with Field Engineers - Sales staff who traveled - a lot...they always-always booked a larger car in Florida.
If you plan to fly out the same day as we disembark...you can always visit DownTown Disney - one of the resorts...see some sights in Coco Beach.

take care, K

Welcome Jen-n-Greg... boy, lots of Jen's on this cruise ;) Ain't that always the case?

Lots of new members!! Wonderful! :cool1:

Hey bigben - I just realized DH and I will be a few doors down from your family - we're in 6576! And I'm soooo looking forward to sitting on the verandah with my morning cup of coffee (no flavored creamer here... just plain old half and half is good with me!)

And Kevin... I'm still giggling over the "me no likey powdered cream" statement... ITA! Nothing more gross!

It's time to get our passports :cool1:! I was waiting till after we moved to NC so my address and everything was current. The only problem? DH hasn't moved yet! No, we're not fighting or anything... :rotfl: He's just got work to finish up in MA and has only been coming down here on weekends. I think I'm just going to go ahead and get mine, and when he finally *joins his family* ;) I'll get his.

d'Isigny - Yes that was me. it was the last night of the oct double dip in 06

jenny2 - cool

BEN I liked your pictures, I have pictures of my family there too. There is a link to another photograph book of my family at YAHOO 360.
