October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Jen-n-Greg,
No docs yet for us either. :confused3 Althoug no mail or UPS here yet today, still hope! This will be our first Disney Cruise, and are already looking forward to booking our second while aboard! We've had so much fun just planning!

Hey Jen. I know my DH and I are very interested in rebooking. We'll have to see if it's do-able for us. I'm hoping it is. :) Kristi

IS THAT YOUR FINAL ANSWER?

Hey Kevin! Can I make one more guess? Can I? Can I? If so, is it one of the walls in Palo? Not sure which one mind you but that's my last and final guess. After that I'm going to start using my lifelines. :) HEEE HEEE Kristi

:cool1: :cool1: YOUAREC O R R E C T!!!!!!!!

DH Ron (40)
DW Tamie (39)
DD Melissa (11)
DD Megan (6)

I have no idea if we received our documents yet. I'm stuck in Potomac, MD on business travel and won't be home to check until Thursday. I'll have to ask DH tonight on the phone.

We got our documents here in Wisconsin yesterday. While they were not overly exciting to look at, it did set off an alarm in me that WE ARE LEAVING IN LESS THAN 3 WEEKS!!!!
:scared1:
It seems like just yesterday we booked this trip and it would take FOREVER to arrive!!
I also hate all my clothes, but with the cost of this trip, my DH would KILL me if I even spent one more dime on a new outfit for the cruise!! :rolleyes1 Anyways, I figured that none of you will know what is old and what is new, and I figure I could get 10 drinks of the day (wait - make that 20 with the two-for-one prices) for one new outfit that only my DH and DD know is new!! Actually, that will serve a dual purpose... If I have ENOUGH drinks of the day, I won't be puking on NEW clothes, but instead on my old cruddy ones!! :rotfl2: I guess you have to look at it that way!! Teeheeeheee!

Is anyone else doing the dolphin discovery excursion on St. Maartin? We are signed up to do it with our friends. I just hope it is worth the crazy pricetag! I would appreciate any reviews any of you might have on it!

Oh yeah, here's our roll call:

DH: Charlie, 39 :moped:
DD: Sierra, age 10 :lovestruc
ME: Michelle, age 37:faint:

and our friends who are going with us:

DH: Craig, age 43? :smooth:
DW: Chris, age 40 (don't kill me if you are reading this, Chris) :flower:
DD: Amanda, age 9 :cheer2:
DS: Shane, age 5:charac4:

I leave 2 weeks from tomorrow:cool1: And hey, if you all get 10 ( or 20) drinks of the day maybe you won't notice that I keep wearing the same clothes over and over again :lmao: I do like my little black dress, would that look odd lounging by the pool :rotfl2:

Not at all!! In fact, I think I saw an Oprah episode lately where she was saying that little black dresses are THE THING to wear to the pool this fall. :thumbsup2

Seriously, I did give up on the whole "I have to wear something new to every event" a few years back. Don't get me wrong - I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have several new outfits for this cruise, but I also LOVE LOVE LOVE to be able to pay my mortgage each month, and this trip is a pretty big "you've worked hard and deserve some fun" for us, so I can give and take a bit.

(I really can't believe I just said that. PLEASE do not tell my DH!!! He will actually think I listen to him on occasion!! :scared1: )

We are just so thrilled to be going on this trip that I will be grateful for the opportunity and not sweat the little things!

I do need to start my packing and shopping for the bonine, etc... the time will fly by!!

Thanks for the reminder Michelle. I forgot the Bonine

Well I did my cruise chore for the evening (I wish all my chores were this good :goodvibes ) I completed my online check-in, printed the signature pages, got mine and DH's signatures affixed and rounded up the passports. Now to find my carry on luggage to store them in so I won't forget them.

No docs yet, but I've met some really nice cruise mates on the packing thread!
:teeth:
I'm trying to underpack I just can't get there. I hope you all don't mind seeing second time outfits.

A little reminder, something many people might not think of before leaving for a vacation...

For those of you that might be leaving your house "empty" while away, most local police departments will do courtesy "drive-bys" or home checks while you're away. Some will do it once a shift, some a bit less frequently, but it's nice to know someone is watching while you're away.

Just a little friendly tip for those who might not have thought of that. ::cop:

Great tip, Mike ~ thank you!! I also told my 3 neighbors so they'll keep an eye on our house, too. The main thing is getting rid of those solicitation stuff people stick on your front door handle like pizza menus, etc...:sad2:

Tip for packing light: Disposable Underwear! Wear once and toss ;)

Roll call:
Me (Wendy) 40ish
DH (Rich) 40ish
DS (Garrett) 3 1/2

Homew3 ~ I bought a BUNCH on eBay!

Check it out: onederwear dot com :rotfl: :rotfl:

I tried one on and it feels like regular underwear ... not papery :rolleyes1

OMG, you're not kidding! I've never seen such a thing! Now times that by 5 people.....that could leave lots of room in the luggage for.....SHOPPING~:cool1:

Hey Kevin! YEAAAA ME!!!!! :) I can now say that I'm knowledgeable about the Disney Cruise Line. Not. HEEE HEEE :lmao: Anyway, thanks for giving me that second chance. Hopefully the begging didn't drive you too crazy. :rotfl2:

As for the disposable underwear, that just cracks me up. :rotfl2: I'll pass on that idea for this trip. Maybe I'll check it out for future trips. I can imagine the look on my DD's face when I say, just throw it out honey. :) HEEE HEEE :rotfl: What a hoot.

Well all, only 17 more days left (I've already marked today off). I've just got a couple of small items to pick up and a couple of items to print off and I'm good to go. Now, to convince my honey that I really do need to start packing. :) Still don't think he'll go for it. Maybe if I beg. LOL

Well, it's off to bed for me now. You all have a good night. Talk to ya tomorrow! Kristi

Hi All,

Myself, DH and DD who at sailing will be just 13 and DS 9.5 are all very excited about our BIG trip to the US and of course to sail on the DISNEY Magic.

This is our first cruise as a family - and our third disney experience.

I am a little concerned about hurricane information I am receiving - should I be?

The last time I sailed on a cruise from Sydney to Brisbane (Aussie East Coast - and certainly no hurricane) I was horribly ill. Although I admit I was under prepared for open seas - but that was a long time ago- over 15 years now - I have bought dramimine, Kwells and will now look into other drugs -

Id rather not take anything to make us drowsy - as I feel that will spoil our experience.

I just want this vacation to be perfect. Kids are V excited - we get to Orlando on 9 October -staying out WDW Dolphin - husband is meeting us from Connecticut and following cruise will holiday until 27 October before going to Dallas FW and Honolulu before home in Sydney Australia.

I look forward to perhaps running into to you on board.

Much pixie dust to you and yours.

Louise

PS I am a huge The OFFICE fan - unfortunately only season three in Australia - and it is close to being axed - can you believe it- although You tube has provided some important answers as to season finale- tell me - is jim and pam going to last into season 4?

Welcome, Louise!! We are glad you found us!! We are meeting as a group on Sunday at 2pm outside of the Cove Cafe, so hopefully your family can come and meet us all for some fun and laughs! (We have quite a few on this cruise who seem to have a great sense of humor! DAVID!!!! :rotfl: )

You have QUITE the trip planned!! I can't imagine going to all those great places on one vacation!! You are truly lucky!!

As far as The Office - we don't know yet!! I, too, hope that Jim and Pam stay together!! I LOVE them together!! Our season premier is tomorrow night (Thursday).:yay:

APOOHFN: Your underwear remarks brought me back to a BAD, BAD memory of my bachelorette party 13 years ago and some of the lovely gifts I received at that time!! Since this is a family board, I can't go into them in writing, but my guess is that they have disintegrated by now(if I still had them) I know - GROSS!! Changing the subject...

When do you think we can call and find out the movies that will be showing on our cruise?? I think I read somewhere that you could do that 2 weeks beforehand! popcorn::

Morning All - Life has slowed down for us  . Jeanne, DM, is feeling better (thanks for your thoughts and well wishes). Glad we didn't have to use our cruise insurance  .

Welcome Aussie Friends!
