October 13, 2013 4 Night Cruise!!!!

Anyone have positives or negitives for one of the dolphin encounters?
The one at Atlantis is rather expensive. What about the dolphins at Castaway?
appreciate suggestions

Sorry nett, can't help you. We've never done these. We're both scuba divers and have swam with sharks but no dolphins.

All,

I've added the DCL excursions for Nassau and Castaway Cay to the Excursions tab. I don't know if everyone can see them or just the Platinum and Gold Castaway Club members.

I've also updated the Roll Call to add some more folks. :grouphug:

Hey Jeff, the daily parking info may need to be updated. The $15.00 per day is confusing, since you are charged for the day you arrive AND the day you leave. It might be better to simply do a length of cruise total.

Parking
The parking facility is staffed from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for Guests parking their vehicles prior to embarking the ship. The parking lot and garage are paved, gated and under 24-hour surveillance.

Parking fees are charged when Guests depart the parking facility instead of upon entry. Parking attendants will provide a hang tag to the Guests upon entry of the parking facility. At the end of the cruise, Guests will present the hang tag to the parking attendant and pay the parking fees at that time.

Guests are charged for every day their vehicle is in the lot/garage, which includes the day of arrival and the day of departure from the cruise.

Parking costs are based on cruise itinerary. See below:

$60.00 per parking space for the 3-night cruise
$75.00 per parking space for the 4-night cruise
$90.00 per parking space for the 5-night cruise
$105.00 per parking space for the 6-night cruise
$120.00 per parking space for the 7-night cruise
If the Guest's vehicle takes up more than one parking space (i.e. RV, trailer), the guest is charged $15.00 per additional parking space per day.

DISABLED PARKING spaces are available and the fee is waived for vehicles that have special equipment, such as ramps, lifts, foot or hand controls; or display the Florida Toll Exemption permit. Call 800-983-2435, extension 2 to apply for an exemption form.*

Preferred parking is also available for $25.00 per day. The preferred parking area is located inside the secured area, next to the vehicle drop-off area. Guests enter via the car gate, drop off their luggage and then make a left turn in to the preferred parking area. There are total of 113 spaces, including 6 accessible spaces. Parking in the preferred area is on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the size of the lot, there is no over-sized vehicle parking available in the preferred parking area.

The Port Canaveral Port Authority operates the parking facility. Cash, Visa and MasterCard are the only acceptable forms of payment. Personal checks are not accepted.

Rates are subject to change without notice.

All Guests must be onboard the ship by 4:00 p.m.

Huh...I'll look at that. I thought I copied it right off the DCL page.

You were right. It is now updated.

Happy Independence Day!

I wish you all a safe and fun day - don't eat too many hot dogs!

OHDisneyDaddy77 - I knew you were from Ohio but not sure exactly where until I noticed today on the website. I am from Elyria and DH is from Lorain. It really is amazing how small our world is.

Nothing happening here today, other than thunderstorms. I need to head out to the grocery in a bit but other than that, quiet day on tap here.

Happy 4th everyone... I would like to welcome everyone that has been added over the last few weeks. I have not been here for a while, I was planning my 35th class reunion and to recover from that I had to take a trip to see Mickey for a few days. Back and ready to start planning my trip July 15 can't come fast enough and then it's off to start making the FE gifts.. So excited about the trip it's only my second cruise, but when we were at CC last time everything was shut down due to the winds, so looking forward to seeing everything in action this time. Thanks about the parking information too, it as great info for us. :cool1::cool1: Julie

Hi Nett~

Sorry I can't really help you out too much about the dolphin encounters. My son and I did the Sea Lion encounter on Blue Lagoon Island twice (sorry those dolphins look too much like sharks to me) but we did hear others on the catamaran on the way back to the ship and they said it was amazing and that they would do it again. I know that on Blue Lagoon the dolphins are not in open waters.

We are going back to Blue Lagoon again. This time we are planning on a Beach Day. Two years ago when we were there, we spent the afternoon on the beach after being with the sea lions. My son had so much fun on all the inflatables that he really didn't want to leave. I know it's not very much help.

See you all in 99 days (double digits - YEAH  )

Looking at the available CC excursion, there are no Dolphin encounters offered. There is a stingray encounter that still has availability. All Cabanas are still sold out.

98 days! double digit dance!

We can start booking our stuff on 7/15!

We are planning on getting to the cruise terminal early that morning, and we are gonna ask about at the pier cabin availability...if the price is right..hubby is considering concierge...fingers crossed.

Hey, if we do that and get our room changed, how would we get it changed for the FE?

Susan and I will set up an Embarkation Meet & Greet. At the M&G, we'll have the master FE cabin list and will mark it up with any changes. We'll post it outside our cabin so folks can come by and note the changes.

ok.thanks

Nett,
Just writing up fish extender list and noticed you were from Grant, AL... So four family on the FE list are Alabama.. I bet we all have Bama magnets on our doors.. Julie

That would be a big "ROLL TIDE"!:yay:
It is neat to have that many from AL.

Hey,
Just wondering about your statement on checking about availability. How does that work, if you want to upgrade when checking in? What do u do?:cool1:

We've got GTY status for a 5e cabin. I can't wait to get an actual cabin number, although I know it may not even be until we get to the port. Don't know if we'll get pixie dust--but a cruise with just my sister and no kids (this time!) will seem magical!! :cloud9: We aren't going to do an excursion in Nassau--thought we'd get off the ship take a quick stroll so we can say "been there, done that" and then plan on enjoying some time on board. I am most excited about Castaway Cay. Looking forward to meeting everyone this fall!!

From what I was told...just ask the person checking you in. They will offer you a discounted price for an empty room if there is one.
