October 13, 2013 4 Night Cruise!!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day!

Well, I got the reservations I wanted but I am most certainly confused as our itinerary is not the same on the reservation site as it is everywhere else and to top it all off, I think that the excursions are loaded for the right days! I hope they deal with it soon - who would have thought to look for the Nassau excursions on the day it shows us in Castaway, but that is where I found them.

Gorgeous day here today. If it could stay like this until it was time to cruise, I would be one happy lady!

Our intinerary on our reservation shows "A" but others say it is "C". Is it different again?

Did you manage to get Palo Brunch? Our booking window opens on the 30th and it's the 1 and ONLY thing I'm going to try to get.

The website now matches what I see on my confirmation - At Sea, Nassau, CC. I called yesterday and reported the discrepency, took a look at my online reservation this morning and it is in sync. Plus they left all my dining alone.

OK - I can not believe I am saying this - but I think that I have possibly booked my last brunch. I was not impressed with the brunch we had on the Fantasy at all and, if I am totally honest - not especially thrilled with what it was on the classics the last few times we sailed either - even if it is the meal we get comped for we are going to do dinner. Plus, we always miss either the DVC meet and greet or the past cruises get together since they are both in the morning. At least for this trip, we are not participating.

Have any of you done Remy Brunch? Not that I would book it for this trip but might have to give that a try next year and see how it is.

Take care and everyone have an awesome day!

Unless the Remy brunch has different courses offered, we won't be dining there, and not just because it's so $$$$. Stephen and I are simple folks (think meat and potato kinda people), and when I had to translate the names of the food offered, well, that's just not for us. The Palo brunch on the Fantasy M/V was a disaster for us. It was added on Cozumel day and we decided to try to fit it in before our snorkeling excursion. Not only did we rush thru the brunch (in and out in 45 minutes), we missed our excursion because they left 15 minutes early. If I can get my crab legs and Stephen can get his scallops, we'll be satisfied with Palo. If not, or if the quality of the food offered has deteriorated that much, we may not do the brunch again, either.

We will be traveling on the Dream -our families first cruise- and I am trying to locate information about the Fish hook extender groups. I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right place or where I need to search. If anyone has any details I would love to know, Thanks- Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Welcome to our cruise thread! pixiedust:

Check out the web page I created for our cruise and click on the "FE List" tab at the top of the page. There is info there about what it is and how to be included. At the bottom of the FE List page is a link titled "FE Participation List Link". Click on that and enter into the spreadsheet the information on your group for those that are participating. If you have any questions after that, feel free to ask here. :)

We will likely sign up for a Palo Brunch but with such a short cruise and us having never been on the Dream, we want to make sure to experience all of the dining rooms. As for Remy, we've done Victoria and Alberts at DW and I just can't see Remy matching up with the quality of that dining experience even though it's a similar cost. I agree with you on the quality of the Palo brunch on the classics. We've done at least one brunch on our 5 previous DCL classic cruises and Susan and I have noticed a decided decrease in both the Palo dinner and brunch quality, service and "class/special" feel. This decrease coupled with the increase in cost is a bad combination.

We have never done V&A but I must say that our Remy 'experience' was one of the best I have ever had, if not the best. We are pretty much meat and potato people as well and really, really enjoyed it. Seems to me as did ask for a sauce to be on the side and they were very accommodating. We will miss both the second and third night in the dining rooms but that is OK since we have been on the Fantasy. We probably would not be doing Palo dinner if it was not for it being a freebee but we will go and enjoy it I am sure.

Guess my take-away from this is that we need to try V&A! Might give that one a shot when we go next year.

Enjoy - it is almost the weekend!!!

where and how do we find the list to sign up for the Fish extender?? This is our first cruise and I feel completely lost on this forum board. Thanks for any help!! Andrea

Jeff, Thank you- I just posted something else before seeing your response. Thanks for setting this up, I think it will be great fun for the kids.

We did it to celebrate completing our first marathon at WDW back in Jan. 2010. We did the wine pairings with it...using our Tables in Wonderland dining card took a little of the sting out of the price but it was definitely worth it. I'll do some more research and see if I can find folks that have done both V&A and Remy's and compared the two. I've got 9 more days to figure it out. :)

It's fun for the kids but I think the adults enjoy it almost as much. What's not to like about getting a small surprise in your FE? ::yes::

When does the FE list usually close? This is my first time....I am a bit excited/anxious!

Thanks!

I think it's a few weeks before the cruise typically but there always seems to be late comers. What we did on the last cruise was to make a "White Rabbit" group with them in it and other folks could volunteer to exchange gifts with them if they had extras. There is plenty of time. :)

I updated the Roll Call. If you aren't on it, let me know. I also added some links to the "Links" page and added Port Canaveral information to the "Info" page.

Hey, Jeff
How do I get added to the roll call? I clicked on the link and added to the "fish extender" list.
Thanks

You just did it...posting to the thread is all it takes. :) I'll update after I eat dinner.

:yay:I am Kim's mom and I am very excited to be going on this cruise, can't wait ,this is my first ever cruise and I am glad we are going on a Disney cruise, can someone tell me what kind of gifts you use for the FE.
Hello!

My family will be going on this cruise. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise. We have been on a Dream 5 night and a Fantasy eastern. We will be cruising with my parents (Ken and Jo). This will be their first cruise. We are very excited and cannot wait until October gets here. We have always cruised in May but this year we decided to go during fall break. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

For the roll call:
Kim, Larry, Matthew (10), Nicholas (6)
room # 6512
dining - late

My parents
Ken and Joyce
room # 6510
dining - late

We are not celebrating anything but Nicholas's birthday is Oct. 29, so we have told him we are going on a cruise for his birthday. He is super excited now.

I know my countdowns are wrong. We were originally booked on the cruise after this one. Luckily, I realized it was not the week of fall break

You will definately not be disappointed that you went with Disney. This is our 2nd one with Disney. Once u go Disney u will not want anything other. We did not do the "fish extenders" the first time, but I think it will be something "surprising" for my son. I do not plan on telling him about. (Let it be a surprise) You can look on pinterest for some great iteas.
