October 13, 2011 3-Night Bahamian Cruise on the Dream!

For some odd reason at 11:30pm it dawned on me all the stuff that I need to get done before heading out in 53 days!!! I have a 2 page to do list. I wanted to get it all done over the summer cause I'm taking 18 hours at school this semester.. This is going to be a stressful 54 days!

PSC, probably not going to add on points this year. If I do, I'll wait until after the divorce so I don't have to fight for my DVC. Hopefully he will realize he can't afford the payments and let me have what we own now.

Also, I can probably start tagging along with my brother and his family on some of their WDW trips. They are DVC too. My dorm mate from college lives in Orlando and I have cousins in Sarasota. I am GM at a hotel and have a lot of hook ups in the industry. I have plenty of options.

Wow! My list is very short. I've had my FE stuff taken care of for a few months now and I made a res at Remy. Other than that, it's throwing clothes in the suitcase, stopping at the liquor store and making my way to the ship.

That sounds nice... I'm a TA so I plan for a living : P AND there are 3 of us that I have to get packed and if we don't organzie it can be a mess I have a bunch of my FE stuff but that was old list and people have added so I don't have enough and now the kids things are going to work as I don't have enough so I am going to have to rethink.. But as long as I'm organized it shoudl be ok.

REALLY.. What hotel? Is it a chain. I'm going to school for Hotel Management so I would love to chat with you some time. I'm hoping that after school I can head to Orlando again. I am working at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson right now in activities but I would like to find something at a front desk and then work up from there. I want to learn as much as possible cause someday I would love to own my own B&B..

SO I had thought about Pming those that are listed just to remind everyone that we are still here. What ya think?

Currently GM at the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham in Lubbock, Texas. I work for the company that manages the hotel, Hospitality Management Corporation in Dallas. We manage ll types of hotels, branded and independent. I was recently promoted from a 103 room select service independent hotel to 132 room select service with F&B. Just the next stepping stone to a full service property one day. Hope to make the next move within the next 8 months.

I'm here! :flower3: I have one more order to finish for a customer and I will have free time to chat. I've got my to-do list ready and hope to start marking things off soon. My girls are always excited about putting together FE gifts so that's usually the highlight of our preparation.

HUM!!!! I just was reading where the port doesn't open now until 11am? I signed up earlier but it looks like they just added me to the 11am to 11:30 group.. I just hadn't heard this and wanted to make sure that everyone else knew!

This really bums me but I hope it runs smoothly. I haven't read the thread on how things are going. Anybody know? In May, we arrived around 9:45, waited at the gate until 10, got boarding pass #2, lunch in an almost empty Cabanas, and poolside seats. It was wonderful!

That is Awesome. I have heard good things about Hawthorn Suites but I haven't stayed at one. I'm starting to reserch some companies. We have have a few of those type companies around here too.. It makes it nice atleast the ones here cause they usually have property everywhere in the US. It is John Q Hammonds hotels. That is awesome. I think Full Service would be AWESOME!!! Good Luck!

HI!!!!!! :woohoo: I'm sure that after school gets started that more and more people will start to come on. Atleast I hope ( not that I don't love the company I have :lovestruc I like FE gifts too.. It is so much FUN!! I need to take inventory of what I have and the list!!

I was hoping to get there super early but I guess that they are starting to board at 11:30 now and the boarding passes are based on your arrival time so if I say 2pm and I get there at 11am I might end up with a very late boarding pass! There is a thread somewhere and it sounds like things are ok and starting to get better. Now that more and moer people know about it and can plan around what the best time to go would be it will get even better. I like the idea because instead of getting large groups of people at one time they are going to have people filtering in at like 11am and then They have 30 mins to get them boarded and get the next group checked in and boarded. In the busy months it would probley be busier but I think for the "off" season that it should be fine..

Is anybody else using Disney transportation from a Disney hotel to the ship? When I went to register I was asked for my approximate arrival time for a boarding group, but I don't know what time Disney will get me to the port. I think it is sometime after noon, but shouldn't DCL know I'm using their transportation and pre-check the appropriate box for me? I think I'll just choose a time and let the chips fall where they may.

55 DAYS!!!! I'm obsessively checking mailbox for any Disney travel stuff!!!

Scott, we are using the transportation on Oct 16th to the airport only, renting a car to get to port from Disney World. But they should give you an approx. time..

I would call DCL. There are usually certain times but I know that they have been changing things. You need to now give them a time that you want to be picked up and it takes about a hour to hour and 1/2 to get over to the port. If it were me and there was more then one person I would look into getting a rental. It is usually about 100 for both days and it is much easier to get up and rent a car take it to the port and then take the shuttle then anything. JMO.

Hello. I haven't posted in a while. We just had two weeks in Menorca in the Mediterranean (it's a Spanish island:confused:). So now that's over I am all in planning for our trip to the U.S.:cheer2: We are flying in to Orlando international on the 12th and taking the Disney transportation to the port on Thursday. After the cruise we are taking the transport over to POR for 13 days. My youngest ds celebrates his 6th birthday on the 18th so we are doing Discovery Cove that day.
I've never cruised before but I love all things Disney and had to give it a try.
I am so excited about the Dream!!
I am afraid the craft gene passed me by:confused3 but I still have some sweet stuff for the FE.
Should I be doing my online check-in this early for the cruise?

Sounds like a great trip!!
Yea the online check in is open, and saves you time at the port.
I'm slowly trying to be crafty with my FE, getting some great ideas on the disboards!! Also you can purchase them on ebay or etsy.

50 days... and Irene has really opened my eyes to the reality of sailing during hurricane season!

Here's hoping our cruise doesn't have any hurricane issues... or at least if it does it's the type that keep us on board for a few extra days! :goodvibes

Hey:coffee: I'm glad I went online to do my cruise check in.. The 11-11.30 slot was already full:worship: so I'm booked in for the 11.30-12 slot. Our flight arrives at 15.30 the day before so we have enough waiting around already:sad1:!!!!
