Who's going on the October 13, 2002 Wonder? Me, my DW, DD4 and DD6 are doing Land and Sea. First part at Beach Club then the Wonder Cruise starting on the 13th. This is our first time on any cruise and we are very excited. :bounce:

Look forward to hearing from others who will be coming along.

Has your family been before? Could use any advice that you may have. Maybe our DDs will have a chance to get together? See you there.

We are on the 10/13 Wonder!

Since this thread has started, we must be getting closer to our
"Wonder"ful vacation

We are also doing the 3 day land 4 day sea, staying at the beach club first

We have DH (me) 41 DW 39 DD 15 DS 13 DS 11 DS 11 DS 8

We have connecting rooms - I think its 6036 and 6038 (might be 6038 and 6040, don't remember exactly)

This is our first Disney cruise, though we have done Carnival and RCCL before this. This trip has been in the planning stages for 2 years.

See you on board

JJ

JJ - You have quite a crew going! We are in cabin 6034 (or 32, not sure which). Looks like we'll be neighbors. Look forward to meeting you.

It will be nice meeting all of you. We are in 6010, I believe. Larry, this will be our second cruise. The first was on the Magic for a 4/3 day when the kids were 3&5. We are now moving up to the 5/4. This will be our first time on the Wonder. Have seen them both in Port and understand the only difference is interior design. We really can't wait. See you are from NC. In the fall, we normally head to NC and TN to go to the mountains. I am Kentucky bred, Florida raised, so I can't stay away from those mountains. LOL. I hope you enjoy your stay in Florida. :D

You say you're doing a 5/4. Did you set up the first part yourself or get some kind of extended land and sea? Just curious, cause I was thinking that 3 days in the parks may not be enough.

Larry :D

Add 5 more 1st time cruisers to this list for the Wonder Oct 13 2002 departure.... DH,DW,DD8,DS10,MIL..
Between this board and the one at www.cruisecritic.com I have obtained a wealth of disney cruise knowledge.
It will make things go so much easier!

Any vacation that I don't have to personally drive anywhere is gonna to be such a relief... (airplane, disney bus shuttle, cruise ship)

My kids have a Fall Break vacation week off every year at their school.
We are fortunate since not many schools do this... It's a great time to take these family trips.

Wow, I thought we were the only ones going on this cruise, We will be traveling with 5, Me, DW, DD, DGS(grandson)10, and DD friend. This will be our first Disney Cruise, DW and myself cruised last year on the Grand Princes. We will be doing our WDW stay after the cruise to finish out the week.

We'll be staying on DVC points at the Wilderness Villas.

We'll be using Disney transfers both ways and then probably Mehrs at the end to get to MCO.

We have booked RM 8554, as we have 5 and I wouldn't sail without a Verander. You get spoiled real fast, just like staying in the Villas. More room.

We're booked for the 2nd seating, anybody else?

Hi Larry. I think I messed up when I put 5/4 down. I meant we were on the 5 day/4 night cruise. We live only about 40 minutes from WDW, so we normally don't stay out there.

It is so nice to see so many families with kids in our age range (5-8). I think all of our children are going to have a great time.:)

Thanks Alisa. I should have noticed your location. We're glad to see that kids our ages will be sailing too. They will have a lot of fun.

KennyK - we considered the second seating, but decided on first because of the age of our girls. I hope they can stay awake for the show, however! Hope we get a chance to meet you and your family.

TXCruiser - you're right, these boards are great. Except that they make it too hard to wait all that time! I guess it will be here before we know it. I can't imagine doing the trip without all this great advice.

See you all soon. :D

phxjjo5 -

I see you have 2 DS11's, I guess my grandson DGS10 will get to know each other as he will be booked into the Childrens program on board.

TXCruiser -

I also see that you will be bringing along your son DS10, So I guess we'll also get to know each other.

I love these boards, they have so much valuable information. When we went on our Princess Cruise last year, we went blind and probably would have appreciated and done other things if we had boards loke this for that cruise.

See you all on board. Can't wait for another Disney Vacation. Last was in February 02 at BWV & HHI.

I have booked a group of 16 cabins on the October 13 cruise. I think it's neat that we can meet some of the passenger's before we even get there.!! We all live in Ashland, KY. It will be our first Disney cruise and I am soo excited. See you all there!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Larry,

Haven't relly thought about it that much, but we will probably skip Atlantis. Have been thinking of going to the Pirate's museum and probably the Straw market. Maybe a little casino action in town, but that's about it. Then back to the ship for some R&R.

Anybody else have any suggestions. Not into beaches as we live on Long Island, NY and are surrounded by water and beaches, but use our pool in the back yard.

Castaway Cay will be enough sand /beach for us.

Kenny K

Aloha,

Add on 4 more first timers! My DH, DS - 8, DD - 6. Also, my sister's family is coming along too! It's quite a distance for us, so we are maxing out this vacation and will be in the area for a total of 2 weeks. (Hopefully, my kids will have understanding teachers this coming fall. Right now I have them in summer school to give them a head start.)

We started planning back in January -- just barely got our tickets via Mileage Plus -- last 4 seats out of Hawaii. (Unfortunately, United does not allot very many seats for their mileage plus members.)

We also picked up MNSHP tickets for the day we get off the boat.

Does anyone have any feedback on Kennedy Space Center? Have heard mixed reviews -- some love it, some say their kids were bored. We may do KSC the day before the cruise departs.

Looking forward to all the excitment!

Larry, There is a web-site you can go to and check out excursions that are available in Nassau. The site is shoretrips.com. Go to 'browse trips' and check the island you are interested in. You can book your trip with this company and they are very reputable. I have a travel agency and work with them. This couple have been everywhere and tries just about every excursion out there. They chose the BEST excursions for your money and they usually have smaller groups of people, therefore, your not crammed into van for 8 with 15 other passengers. I have never heard any negative response from anyone. Good luck!! I will be with a group that I booked from Ashland, KY. I guess we'll see you there!!!!!!! One last thing. They do not book excursions along with the ships itinerary, so be sure the time is right and you can be there when you need to bo. Another thought, if you have booked your excursion and the ships cannot dock due to weather ot whatever, you are not charged for that excursion. If you have any other questions, they are great at getting back to you. ;) e-mail: aperfecttrip@yahoo.com

aperfecttrip - I just read your latest post. I hadn't read your latest before I sent my last message. Thank you for the excursion advice - the web site you mentioned will be a great help. I was getting real confused about what to do on shore! :)

Hawaiin Girl - Aloha! Hopefully our DDs will get to know one another. My DDs are 4 & 6. We are taking our girls out of school for 1 week. Our teachers our very strict about taking them out during the school year - but what the heck, life is short! We promised to work extra hard in September to keep them up to speed.

Looking forward to meeting everyone. :D

Hi Hawaii. Hope our kids get to meet. We have a DS(7) and DD(5). We live here in Orlando, and our DS goes to KSC once or twice a year with his summer camp. He tells me he absolutely loves it there. I have not been since I was young, but I have heard from many people, all different ages, who seem to really enjoy it. It is more of a learning adventure, than, say a "theme park" adventure, but I understand that it has lots of hands on things to do. See you in October. :)
