October 12, 2013 - Western Caribbean on the Fantasy!!!

Hello :yay: exciting that it under a year to go.:dance3: I am hoping to get flights booked when they come out in a few weeks. Its good to see that the thread is picking up I've also joined the Facebook page. Hope everyone has a lovely sunday :cheer2:

So what groups do we have planned? I know we have a fishe extender started as well as the roaming gnome. Also, I believe there is a castaway cay 5K started for anyone interested. Will there a meet and greet? Champagne girls?

The meet & greet is from 2-3pm on Deck 13 by the wading pool on the 1st day.

I would love for him to be our server, although I don't think he will remember me. It was so long ago (2007) that he was the Assistant Server for myself, my late husband, and my daughter. How does one go about requesting a particular server?

We have done it several times, in fact we did it for our most recent Fantasy trip....We have had Liam Scott from Jamaica as our server at least 5 times going back 10 years, he is now a Head server and we requested to be in his section and that's how we got Bulelani.
Simply call the cruise line prior to the cruise and put int he request, we followed it up with a visit to the Dining supervisors once on board, but when I got there, it was already done!

I'm so in for the Champagne Girls. I liked getting a drink ( alcoholic or not!) together and getting our picture in the atrium together when we were done! I like 1st sea day mid afternoon.....so I think those vets of the Fantasy need to let us know which bars are open in the afternoon. On the Magic we just got together in the Promenade Lounge. What's everyone think!?

So, I know I said I definitely wanted to do the fish extender but didn't have my room number. My room is 9138. It will be me, my hubby and 9 yr old daughter. She does have a peanut/tree nut allergy. Thanks for adding me!

Long time no see!! :wave2:
I just returned from a trip yesterday (non Disney), and am now looking forward to my next big adventure, our Oct 2013 cruise!! It cannot get here fast enough.
I have already made reservations for night before the cruise, but how does one usually get from their hotel (Cocoa Beach) to the port? Are there shuttles? Or just taxi it? There will be 4 of us, just me & the 3 kids, DBF is going back home to El Salvador to visit family.

At which hotel will you be staying? Some hotels offer shuttle service to the Port, either in a package, or at a per person charge. I have stayed in the past at the Radisson which offers a shuttle, so I guess if your hotel does not have a shuttle, a taxi would be what you need.

My question to all of you FE participants: what was your favorite/ least favorite gift to give or receive? I loved getting CDs, coasters, mugs, key chains, cruise specific lanyards,ornaments.....

I really put a lot of thought into mine last cruise, so when a couple people gave a handful of tootsie rolls, or a few pieces of candy, it's a little disappointing as it appears there's not much thought/ effort put in.

Looking for ideas, so what do you think? What are your favs?

We will be staying at the hampton. If they have no shuttle, what does taxi fare run approx to the port? Trying to weight my options. They offer a couple of packages, but one includes the parking, which I won't need, so would be pointless to pay for that. The other includes transfers from/to airport as well, but, I do not think we will be returning to the airport once we get back to port. Think we will stay one night in Orlando. I need to call Hilton and see if I can get dropped off at another property instead of the airport.

The candy is fine - DD (and DH) like getting it (and fruit snacks) for movies & excursions. What we do not care for is the junky stuff from Oriental Trading. Most of it does not even make it home - flimsy rulers, cheap quality TINY flip flop note pads, things like that. I'm not saying everything from there is crap, but in general.......

We got some AWESOME things in the 5 cruises we did the FE on - wine charms made out of Scrabble tiles, hand made hair bows/clips, decorated picture frames, little bottles of alcohol, and stuff from people's home state! I'm sure there were more, but I'm drawing a blank.

Overall, home made stuff is cool, but store bought stuff works too ;)

I agree that candy is good for the movies, if it's not the junky 2 or 3 pieces of tootsie rolls or star burst only. Last cruise, we gave personalized mugs with candy in there. I also brought the movie theater candy for my new friends I chatted a lot with. My kids loved the oriental trading eye patches for pirate night; everything else ( from oriental trading) went into the garbage as it was junky ;)

Yes. Last cruise we got a box of the movie sized candy - they are like $1/box at Walgreens & Target and you would've thought DH got a $10 bill!!!!

Well, it is like getting $5 on the ship! $3.95 + tip!:rotfl2:

I love getting/bringing those. I found a sale at Rite Aid right before our last cruise that was B1G1 free, and they were $1.39 so really only $.70 per box!

I loved an ornament I received as well as supine coaster tiles, a mug and a hot toddy baggy!

I just booked the kids and I a surprise trip last night for Christmas. It is going to be so hard to keep this a secret for the next 7 1/2 weeks. I got an AMAZING deal at Paradise Pier, so I jumped on it :goodvibes
