October 12-16 4 Day--Minnesota Family of 6 do the Wonder

I was not a jock, or even a fake jock, so I won't cause much trouble LOL!!!

I completely agree that the last day should be a Sea Day. Our day at Castaway Cay was overshadowed later in the day by the weight of packing stress also!!! It would be nice to have more time to pack and just relax till late afternoon at Castaway Cay.

Couldn't DCL have people pack for us?!?!?

Packing is a harsh reminder that you are about to re-enter the real world!

When we stopped at Wal Mart in Orlando after spending four days on the Wonder I was almost offended that we had to wait in line and, even worse, we had to pay for the food in our cart! I had become very comfortable with having constant access to great food any time I wanted without having to worry about what it cost.

That's the real world!

Wow looks like you took full advantage of Castaway Cay.. What a wonderful day you all had. I would love to try parasailing but on the other hand I don't do heights very well so probably not a good idea.

I think we got our money's worth! Of course, there are still many things we need to go back to do!

Hard to believe it has been a month since our trip!

Here is the final installment our our trip report.

Thursday 10/16
Debarkation
What a drag! We had been eagerly anticipating Sunday, October 12 for months and in the back of my mind I had been dreading Thursday, October 16 for months. We were all dead tired. We had to get to breakfast by 7am. I got the kids up too late, so we were running late.

Debarkation morning creates a lot of internal conflict. I want to enjoy every last second on the ship, but we really need to hurry to get to breakfast. As soon as breakfast is over, guests are hurried (in a friendly, Disney kind of way!) off the ship, so it’s impossible to do much savoring of the experience.

We got to breakfast a couple minutes late. Dinners in the dining rooms are such pleasant experiences, but debarkation breakfast is hurried and stressful. Our carry off luggage staffed on the floor behind us. Putu and Clement were excellent again. It would have been a nice meal if not for the dread of leaving the ship.
The last time we left the ship, we kind of doubted we’d ever have the opportunity to take another DCL cruise with our family. Now, I think we are kind planning on it, so that made it a little easier to leave.

Debarkation is very efficient. We had one minor problem. One of our bags was not in the same section as our other bags. There was a little momentary panic. What if some had accidentally taken one of our bags?!? It turned up one section over from where it should have been, and off the ship we went.
It’s really sad walking out of the terminal doors that we had walked through a few days ago with such excitement. I guess all good things must end.

Lauraljp: Did I get the relaxing vacation I wanted? Yes and No. The time on the ship and at Castaway Cay was wonderful and very relaxing. I did not sleep real well on the ship and would awaken too early every morning, consequently, heading to Disney after the cruise was exhausting, but I do not regret doing another Disney Cruise and hope to do it again someday.

We take some great memories with us and I know we are really blessed that we have been able to cruise with DCL twice now. And, WDW and MNSSHP lay ahead of us so, “see you real soon!”

Such a handsome family! I have never done a cruise - it sounded like you had a great time....something to remember as we move into winter. I'm going ot have to see if I can load my pictures.....did you write a trip report on the WDW side?

Wow great trip report, Sorry I just joined. It was a great trip, and can't wait till I can do one again! It was great running into you through out the trip!

That is such a cute picture of you and your child and dog. We have a pug too. They are such sweet dogs.

I haven't followed up on my thread for awhile!

Thanks for the kind words Shasess!

MplsMom1, I'm still checking on your TR! I want to hear the exciting conclusion!

Kim, we also really enjoyed meeting you and our quick visits around the ship. I thought it was cool our DSs got to know each other in the clubs too.

I'm still living in the past. Eight weeks ago right now....
