Of course hurricanes are of concern. However, I enjoy cruising this time of year. The price is right and I know that most likely the worse that will happen is we will just go to different port. Thank God the ship can go around the stroms when we are out to sea. However, I would not think of cruising this time of year without the vacation insurance.

I have been on the ship a total of 31 days all in August / September / or October between 2003 and 2007 and only two days were in rough seas and only one of those was a raining day. All the others days the weather was great. There is always the possibility of rain in the afternoon but it only last miniutes. Sometimes as little as or 5 or 10 other times up to an hours. Then it is gone and you are back to sunny blue skys.

You lucky ducky, what fun you have had, good for you. That is great about the weather, I worried about that too. It nice to know that rain is really a factor.


Roliepolieoliefan: I have recently booked and this group is great. My ds will be just shy of 10 when we cruise and my dd will be 7, similar to yours. I can't wait!!!

DD6 is so looking forward to meeting your girls, Kristin! She has seen the pix you have posted and can't wait to see them in the club!!

Oh gosh you are fast than me this morning. I need to get on the phone right now and book the last night of my stay. Wish we could stay Sat. night after the cruise too but coming home on Sunday then school on Monday morning might be too much for the kids.

My daughters will love playing with your daughter. Last year they spent sooo much time in the Mickey pool and the slide...

Let me know if you get your ressie at DVC. Hopefully the kids can meet at SSR before the cruise...

Success! Just confirmed our reservations for Thursday and Friday before the cruise at SSR...Thanks for the advice! We have a Grandstand room requested, and a 2BR dedicated confirmed... Since we do not plan on visiting WDW right away before the beginning of 2009, we have decided to use up our remaining DVC points we have available to use by then and book at Poly or Contemporary for the Saturday night after the cruise (which will cost more points for us and, thus, use the points up!). Even if we don't visit a park, we will be close to the "magic" before we head home on Sunday! (And closer to TONGA TOAST!!!!!! )

This is becoming quite the trip for us afterall! And to think, we will have a young infant as well! Yes, chaotic it may all sound...But I am now beginning to get excited!!! With all of this cruise planning this past week, I am honestly forgetting that we are going to OKW in the beginning of this February! I suppose I should re-focus my trip planning energy a bit

As we have done in the past, we may ship a box to ourselves ahead of time with snacks, and, Oh, yeah! diapers and wipes, etc. Besides, we will surely be eating well while on the cruise, so we will not need to send as much as we normally do! I know our kids will all have fun playing together. Maybe we can even sit and enjoy a drink or two by the pool while they play.
I don't think we will do the dining either since it will be a short trip and all. Yes, your right about all of the eating on the cruise tooo!!!!
I am excited that you will be at SSR with us. Have you thought about how you are going to get to the port??
Last time we took a limo but it was a challenge for them to get all of our luggage to fit into the limo there was six of us though. Thinking I may get a town car this time. The good part of staying at SSR before the cruise is that you can do a bit of wash before you get onto the boat. The formal wear is what takes up the most room for us. We are known for bringing too much stuff.. Plus the twins will want to dress like princesses a few times for dinner so we will have to bring those costumes too...
Taking three kids to see the Bee Movie in a few hours. DH just called he went to the dr. this morning he is coming home to work from home he is really sick... He must be he never comes home sick. In fourteen years of marrigae I can not remember the last time he took a sick day...

The stroller last time was a must since it was walk back and forth to the boat...I agree the van will make the most sense. That morning getting to boat seems soo very rushed.

I noticed that also! And boy is it!! We were there on October 2nd. We went on the Maid of the Mist, but it was more like a Gale instead of Mist! I had on a rain jacket and the poncho. I don't think I could have gotten much wetter had I jumped in! You haven't "experienced" Niagara Falls until you ride the Maid of the Mist. It was an incredible experience to be so close. I am still working on getting my pictures posted, but there are some of the falls posted here if anyone would like to look.

We go every year with 3 other famlies for the opening of the festival of lights, which ironically sponsered by Disney. We stay right on Clifton Hill with pool side rooms. All the adults sit around the pool tables with cocktails and watch the kids play in the pool. Great get away for a weekend and only hour and a bit drive. I usually have relatives come over from Scotland ever 2 years or so and Niagara Falls is a must for them. And you can't go to Niagara with out going on the maid of the mist. So I know exactly what your talking about. Hopefully we get no mist like that on the Magic.

My dd will be 12 and Sandy's dd will be 13, so they will all be in the same age. They just started e-mailing each other, maybe your dd would like to join in? Torismom's dd will be 10 a the time and she and my dd are already great friends. They could all hang out in Ocean Quest together.

Spoke with our DD and she would love to get to know your DD's bfore the cruise. I will PM you her email. She loved Ocean Quest last time!

DELETE...DELETE!! I am not reading/typing totally correctly...It has been a long day with the kids! Never mind me!!!! Time for bed for this Mommy, I suppose.....
With all the luggage the 6 of us will have, some extra won't matter, especially seeing that we will be leaving SSR in a van to get to the port! Maybe we'll get one of those "Jon and Kate, Plus 8" style vans!
