Wow! I really have missed alot. I haven't been on line in a while. We made a trip to Ft. Benning in Columbus GA. Our middle son just graduated from Army Ranger school. It's a very tough school and rated one of the best leadership school in the nation. We are very proud of him! :yay: I really like the new title for the thread, Steve. Kristin, you can add us to the website. I'm not sure what info you need about us. Let me know. Basically, It will be me, my Dh, and my Ds (13 yrs old) on the cruise. Welcome to all the new members. Hopefully I can visit the thread more regularly.

Later,
Jamie

Carmen,

What is the deal with the passport situation? I haven't applied for passports yet. I have been intending to do it but keep putting it off. I know that I really need to get them started. Is it taking longer than normal?

Jamie

Hi everyone. I read an article that says regular passports are taking up to 10 weeks. I heard Friday on our local radio station that they are taking 12 weeks. I guess it's safer to figure high. Ours don't expire until next year; but I think we'll send for new ones in a few months (after this rush, hopefully).

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK"S DAY A DAY LATE!!!!!

Jamie,
I was trying to quote squiggle about the passports. I did something wrong, :confused3 therefore my post was confusing. Squiggle answered the question for both of us.
Thanks Squiggle!

Also, Ft. Benning is right across the river from me! The Chattahoochee river divides Georgia and Alabama in this area. I actually live only a few miles from Columbus. I know you are very proud of your son! The Ranger school is great accomplishment.:thumbsup2 Did you happen to go to the infantry museum? There are plans to build a new building, because they have so much there isn't enough room for it all. My boys love going there.

Hello all!!! As far as passports go, Steve has had his for quite a few years and just renewed it before our October cruise. Connor and I will get ours sometime, but for Colton we want to wait until he turns 13 in February. Then his next one will be upgraded to an adult passport.

We had great time this weekend with the Truck Club. The weather could have been better! It rained hard on Friday and changed to snow by the time we got there. No bon-fire that night! Saturday day was nice, but snowed again that night. Probably only got an inch or so of snow, so it wasn't tooooo bad. But DANG it was cold! Especially after it had been in the 70's just a few days before! Suppose to be in the 70's again this weekend. I am even contemplating mowing grass! It's actually growing!

I better get my chores done! Have a great night!!

Hope everyone had a great day.

DH and I have valid passports from when we went to Ireland before the kids were born so they are good for ten years...So we still have a few more years left on them.

We ended up getting the kids passports last year before we went on the cruise. I felt better about having them for the kids. It took us about six to eight weeks to get them back but that was before it was mandatory for everyone to have them..

To be honest no one ever seemed to really ever look at the kids passports. A few times they told us only show them for the adults when we got on and off the ship...

Hey Carmen,

We didn't get a chance to visit the infantry museum. We did go to a Navy museum that had a Civil War iron clad. My husband is a big Civil War buff.

Jamie

Hey everyone!

We got as far as getting passport photos taken for the 4 of us this weekend. Next weekend I think we will go submit our applications. We are going to Mexico in August so we need them by then. The fact that we needed them for that trip helped me convince dh that this cruise is a good idea. We already will have passports might as well use them LOL!

I am hoping a DIS friend of mine will be joining us on this thread this week!

Hello- Is anybody out there? :surfweb: Everybody must be enjoying spring break.

Steve

I' m still around.. for the moment. I've been packing for our Grand Canyon trip. We drive to Atlanta tommorow night and fly out early Sat. The weather keeps changing:mad: and its hard to pack for 5 even without the wild temp changes. I've got everything from underarmour to shorts! Just hope it all fits in the rental car. We may have to leave a kid behind!:lmao:

Jamie,
I love our Civil War museum. I took the boys to a reinactment there. They actually had small ironclads in the river firing blanks at the people in period clothing on the bank.
DS13 also loves Civil War history.

We're here! It's just been a bit crazy around here. Since we traveled over the weekend, then I have 2 babies I watch now! I have a 17mth old and a 7 mth ofd! WHAT was I thinking! LOL I will have the 17mth old until April 5, then she will go to daycare. They need someone 830-6 and even though I was doing 2 days and a neighbor was doing 2 days, 6pm is just TOO late for our families. The neighbor was taking her to dance and karate, I was getting home 10 mins before leaving for scouts. It was just nuts and I had stressed about it enough. I think it will do her a lot of good socially as well. She is an only child and the mom doesn't participate in play dates...other then the kids in the neighborhood, and they are older. She needs her peer interaction.
Anyway, it's just been a bit of a zoo around here. I am hoping to find a good routine soon! LOL Our spring break is the week of April 9th. The weather has taken a turn for the better! Going to be in the 70's for the next week!
I hope this finds everyone Happy and Healthy!

Ahoy Ye Mateys! This can't be!
Soon we'll be docked on page three!
It's back with ye to the top of page one!
Aye, Ye Scallywags, Pass the rum!

Have a MAGICal Day!

You are really good.

How is everyone doing??

Hope all is well..

Been trying to book my airfare for my Sept. Trip... ANyone ever flown JetBlue???

I've not used JetBlue myself, but have heard great things about them! We are flying Allegiant Air for our May/June trip. We've never used them, so I hope it all goes well. They were cheap @ $69 one way, but then they charge for everything! $4/bag and snacks will be available for purchase! LOL Not even a free bag of peanuts anymore? :confused3 Did you do a search on here to see what opinions other folks have about JetBlue? popcorn::
