oh my gosh!!!!!! I would of freaked out for sure!!!!!!! Is the little girl ok? I know I've heard stories about spiders hiding in grapes and things like that but never scorpions
this is how paranoid I am, when I buy fruits like grapes I always dump the whole thing in a huge bowl of water and let them soak for 10 minutes or so then I start washing them.... thinking this would drown any bugs that might be hidding in there LOL

Gina we're suppose to get thunder showers too today and it's soooooo HOT and humid out right now!!!!!!

maybe later tonight we'll all get hit with rain, but so far it's sunny and hot!
I would love to be closer to the lake like you are, the breeze must be nice on those hot summer days?!!!!
the only pictures I saw are the ones she posted last night, but she did say that photobucket was giving her a hard time!!!! hopefully tonight we'll see them LOL

O M G!!!! Up until a few months ago, this is the Walmart I shopped at! I would be freaking out!!!!!!!

BARBOURSVILLE, WV (WSAZ) -- A trip to Wal-Mart turned into a trip to the hospital for the Templeton family. A scorpion from Mexico found its way into a box of watermelons at the Wal-Mart in Barboursville.

William Templeton says his daughter Megan was in the produce department picking out a watermelon Sunday afternoon. The scorpion stung her finger and then hung on. She had to shake her hand to get the scorpion to let go.

William says store managers were very helpful. They even helped him catch the scorpion. He took his daughter to Cabell Huntington Hospital to see if she is allergic to the sting.

Hello all!!!!!!
Sorry about last night!!! Shortly after I posted the mods closed the boards for maintenance, saying it would be down for a couple hours!!!! I tried to go back onto the disboards and I would get an error message, so maybe that's why you weren't able to see my pictures, there must have been a hiccup.........now the photos are showing!!!!!!

Thanks........we were very close, maybe 150 feet!!!!!! We were just accross this slot that it was docked in!!!!!! It was a great view!!!!! We were so close, we were able to hear the music from the sail away party.... and we could also hear th cm's talking on the microphone very clearly!!!!!!! It was great!!!

Michelle has headed off with the baby camping with her mum in Michigan until the weekend. It's just me and Mag. for the week.

I found this on the thread about the personal posts... I think it is a great analogy and thought I would post it here along with my response:

In some ways, a cruise meet can resemble a cocktail party. That is, pockets of people having private conversations. This atmosphere can certainly be intimidating to a person just walking into the room. Where to start? How does one just jump in?

Some people at a party are chatty while others like to sit back and listen. You can do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

A cruise meet is everyone's party!

That is the perfect analogy.
We have a rather chatty bunch and it is difficult for the regulars to keep up with sometimes. It was awkward for me to jump in a thread that had been running a while. Because of that, myself along with 4 or 5 others on our thread really try hard to make new posters welcome and invite them to join our list for e-mailings, and offer them a link to our website. That is the best we can do. I also like Mary's suggestion of putting ***CRUISE QUESTION*** in the post as an attention getter. Now that we are aware this is a problem, I for one will try even harder to make sure no "newbies" get lost in the shuffle.

Here is a post I put on our thread after this one got started:

It does describe our thread to the letter. It also describes about three quarters of the threads on this forum. I will also say that when things are really hoppin' on here, posts get missed. It has happened to me, and I'm sure most everyone else on here. Is it the end of the world? No. Besides, I thought that was kinda the point...to get to know your fellow cruisers as well as cruise planning... The thread for the Panama Canal cruise we went on in March was dead... D E A D, dead. You could tell they had "their click" too. I did feel snubbed at the onboard meet. Not here though!!!

How is the weather for you folks today, I know a lot of you were worried about storms today? No more of those for us today, just grey and windy.

The Wiifit came out of it's box today!!! I LOVE the hula hoop but I suck at the ski slaloms LOL! The balance ball game is fun, but the advanced is very challenging. We have been playing for almost 3 hours. Except ds who is much more obsessed with his computer. I haven't tried any strength or yoga yet, I'll stick to that when no one else is here LOL.

It did ask me if I find myself tripping when I walk LOL.

Anyone here have a toaster oven?
