he's in first grade!!

I didn't realize he was the same age as Jenna, does he get alot of h/w? Jenna has daily reading, she has to log and then after 5 write a little report on one book, and she gets 4 pages of spelling that is due on Thursdays. Pretty much that is it, about 10-20 min a day.

Yesterday went very well, aside from the running around, the choir did so well and the kidlets looked so cute in their communion outfits. No one went overboard on the clothing, no one looked like a mini bride.

Jenna had her pics for her dance today so that took up the morning. She had her first sleepover last night and made it through the night, she had tried before but came home at 10 ish. She was pretty pleased with herself. I had a hard time with it but I know the family very well so I was comfortable with it.

Not doing anything but laundry now, taking it easy.

Hi all,

Just wanted to say a BIG thank-you to you all for the fantastic welcome.

Am even more excited about the cruise now I know there are so many great people going!

With the time difference it's kind of hard to keep up with the chat but I'll do my best.....

Realfam we are not far from Glasgow -in fact hubby works in Glasgow and the wee one is at school in the West End. Do you get to visit your family often?

A little bit about us....

Hubby (Donald) and I are both 35 and have a gorgeous daughter -Niamh ( pronounced neeve).

We love all things Disney and have vistied Disney World four times now - we were there last New Year and had an amazing time -but it was sooooo busy ( we normally go in November so it was quite a shock to see the parks so crowded). We have wanted to do the Disney Cruise for a while but found it very expensive for flights etc during the summer months so were delighted that this cruise falls during the October School holiday.

Am looking forward to chatting with you all.

Don't worry about keeping up. Just jump in when you can. Even those of without the time difference have a hard time keeping up. Can't wait to get to know you. We are a very fun group, with lots of clowns among us.

Josh gets a homework duotang every other week and has a week to finish it. It has about 5-8 pages double sided in it and it's mostly spelling, math, and word search and things like that. He also gets to log in all the books he reads at home in a little booklet and gets rewards on the amount of books he reads if he gets the highest in the class. Plus he gets study words every week to learn and has a quiz every Friday on those.
Happy to hear Jenna did well!!!!! We had our nephew's first commmunion a few weeks back and I was a little dissapointed on how they did it. It was very plain, no choir...and only 4 students getting the first communion. I hope it will be nicer next year when Josh gets his!!!!!!!!!
Laundry day is tomorrow here, I like to not do it during the weekend and wait for everyone to be out LOL

Well the sun is out here, and the race is going but I need a NASCAR break this week. Wish i were outside doing something. But I don't htink that's gonna happen. Ultimately I'll probably do laundry. We'll see

Afternoon!!!

Well, I timed that just right! I got out there to cut grass and trim, only to find that when we last did some yardwork, WHOEVER wound up the electric cord made a BIG ol' mess out of it! It took my 30 mins just to untangle the dang thing! Sheesh!!! So, I'm toolin' along, doing my thing, and then I decided I better water the flowers and I'll clean off the patio furniture...I might as well, I'm all yucky. I've got my MP3 on, and it's a bit loud to be heard over the mower. I hear a slight rumble, but I'm not sure what it is. I look up to the sky...over my house it's bright blue, but in the distance, it's coal black. I hurry with theflowers and start the furniture, then Steve calls. I finally gave up on it all and got in the house, just in time to witness two HUGE bolts of lightening and the rain come pouring down!!
I had to reboot the laptop since we lost the internet for a bit. Now I need to get a shower and think about starting dinner......hhhmm....more thunder......We were going to have steaks on the grill.....maybe not!

OH my. Glad you got inside b4 it poured. Lightning isn't good at all. Eventually we'll have to decide on what's for supper here. Which probably means cleaning the kitchen

So, yesterday dd and I left the house at 10 am, went to a bridal shower, shopping and to my SIL's for dinner, and got home at 10:30 pm! Long day. And in the midst of that day, we ended up with more torando warnings and hail!!! We were at SIL's and had 2 of our 3 cars there. She had room in her garage for 1, so we pulled in my Edge and dh's Grand Prix had to sit outside. There was a ton of hail, but it was only marble sized for the most part, and we don't see any damage on the car thank god! It sure would be nice to have some nice weather for an entire day for once. Today is beautiful, I hope the rest of the day holds out.

Now, I have to do some work, yuck!

Nope, just busy people! Sean's friend is over, and they keep on having trouble with the games they are playing (lego chess, mousetrap, etc) and needing a mother's hand to help! between that and bowling with my older son... LOL!
