That's a tough one. Have you told her anything at all yet? I think I would say there was a family obligation to attend or something. I would want to try to spare feelings if possible.

that was my thought. My only concern with saying we have another obligation is, What if she sees us out? She said they were going to go and rent movies and such. Although, we don't have anything Saturday night, so the boys and I could stay in...would probably stay in anyway...... Ugh, I hate this!!!

Alright what the heck is going on with these posts??

Well, it was sort of my fault and sort of not. I finished typing my dilemma at the same time Colton called to be picked up from choir practice. So I hit reply and ran out the door. When I got back, my post was still in the, I just typed it phase, so I pressed reply again...then when it flipped to the posts, I saw where it actually DID post when I was running out the door!

That is a hard situation, I never want to hurt someones feelings. I guess I would stay in (we never go anywhere anyway LOL), or make sure you go somewhere where there is no way she would go. I'm not sure what other excuse works well without hurting feelings.

Thanks! What's funny is when I was pulling away, I said to the girl, "Maybe this one will be a winner too!" And of course, she just gave me the cheesy smile and said, "Have a nice day!"

It is about a monk that wants to build a cathedral and a builder who will build it for him....okay, here..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pillars_of_the_Earth this gives a better discription then I can give! LOL

Wow it does sound really good!!! I just might have to get it LOL

I thought my computer was going haywire :badpc:

Ugh...I just sent the Mom an email...I tried to word it right. it says.......

Jamie,
sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! I am knee deep in the 5th grade reception and over my head with the carnival!
I am sorry to say, Connor won't make Brian's party. I am so sorry. There is just too much going on!!
We hope that Brian has an awesome Birthday!!!

I feel bad, but if the boys aren't really friends anymore.... ugh..I hate this...oh well, it was Connor's choice not to go!

okay, I read that entire wikipedia paragraph about the book and now I know the ending! LOL I will finish this those!

I NEED MOMMY HELP!!
Connor was invited to a birthday party this weekend. A sleep over, movie night. Sounds like fun to me, BUT he says that he doesn't see this boy at school anymore and doesn't want to go. They used to be in scouts and I think in class together. Now they have sort of grown apart, or he just doesn't feel like he knows him anymore. The mom has emailed me twice and in the last one, said that there was just one boy that is coming. How can I say no to her without hurting the boys feelings? I hate to just send an email saying. Sorry Connor's not coming. I feel like I should say more? whatcha think?

oh boy, that's a toughy....what I would do is either A ask Connor if he wants to change his mind, that he would have fun, get to know his "old" friend again blah blah blah or if he still says no then B just politely tell the lady that Connor has other plans for that weekend or whatever LOL I know this is no help whatsoever but that's what I would do :)

I think that sounds just fine. You aren't lying, but not hurting anyone feelings by telling the whole truth either.

I DID try to convice Connor that this might re-kindle thier friendship, but he still said no. HONESTLY, I really think that Connor sees Brian as one of the geeks, and Connor isn't "IN" that group. God, I can't believe I am writing this! I swore I would never want my kids in cliques, but they are! Colton is in the middle..not in the popular crowd, but not the nerds either. Connor is more in the popular crowd and I don't think Brian is, so of course, Connor is probably afraid of what the other kids might think....regardless of the fact that I would NEVER tolerate that..and that is probably why he won't tell me that.

Off to tuck them into Bunnyland....BRB

it's not like we really have a choice about letting kids be in cliques, it just happens naturally. BUT I do know what you're saying, I hate it too.
