Well, I haven't been able to read chapter 2 and probably the last 100 pages of chapter one. With the WB Panama cruise fast approaching (oh and did we have a horrible time trying to book Palo and excursions at the 90 day mark - alot of very unhappy CC members!) and regular life, just can't seem to catch a breath.
Been a crazy six weeks. I know I have no chance to go back and get caught up with what everyone has had to say.
Shawn has been in Honolulu for the last three weeks assisting in the opening of the new store there. I think it opens in a couple of weeks. He does finally come home this Saturday. Never realized how much he really helped with the kids and around the home. Guess you don't know what you have until it is gone. It will be great to have him back. I do miss him horribly. His absence did allow me to get out of the talk in Washington D.C. though!!!
Plans are all but finished for his 40th birthday celebration in Eden, Utah. Hope he will appreciate all the work I have put into it. We have friends coming from D.C., Oregon, San Jose, L.A., and Arizona. It should be a ton of fun.
While he has been gone, the pool turned a nice shade of green. Called someone to come to the house and figure out what was going on. Needed a new pump, there was a crack in the old one. They replaced it yesterday morning and I came home last night to a flooded front yard. Go to the back yard and the pool is half empty!!! The bottom casing of the pool filter split wide open and water was flooding our yard and the neighbors. Nothing like 15,000 gallons of water to make friends with your neighbors! Filter housing now has to be replaced tomorrow morning. Couple grand later, we should have the cleanest pool in the area.
Oh, I did see a few posts about rum. When we were in St. Kitts for the Southern cruise, we fell in love with some rum that they make there. Don't think if it is a good thing, but it tastes soooooo yummy. It is made by Brinley Gold and we can only find it online at like 5 places. It comes in the following flavors: Coffee (yuck), Mango, Lime, Coconut, and Vanilla. The Vanilla is the best - we have 10 bottles of it!!!! Only one of all the others (minus the coffee - yuck). Anyway, we like it too much!
Lastly, the USAF has finally cut all the red tape and created a GS14 position for me!! Luckily, having served six years in the USAF, I am grandfathered on years of service. I am extremely excited - no more self employment tax!!! Oh, and now I will have benefits - you know - paid time off is huge when you haven't had it in three years. When we go on vacation, I don't earn a dime, kind of a double whammy. The Armed Forces have so many down days and again, I don't get paid for those. It is going to be a little bit of a pay cut, but is more than worth it to just have the stability of not wondering if my contract will be renewed each year. Now, we just have to see how long it takes to go into effect. Hopefully by June.
Hope all is well with everyone.
