Hey all!!!

Flew in from Key West last night....had a great time there but was it HOT HOT HOT with 98% humidity!!! Spent a lot of time in the hotel pool!!! They were holding the annual Ernest Hemingway look a like contest while we were there....so funny seeing 20 men all dressed alike and looking like Ernest Hemingway!!!

Some excitement on our flight last night....the guy sitting across the aisle from hubby went to the restroom onboard and when we came out the flight attendent came down the aisle to inform him that the police would be meeting him when the flight landed. Apparently he had been smoking in the bathroom and the Captain gave orders for the police to question him when we landed. Heard later on that he was actually arrested as he had outstanding warrants. I didn't think anyone really tried to sneak smoking on a plane anymore with all the announcements and such.

I'll try to post some pics of Key West soon...tomorrow we have to drive DD and her stuff 3 hours to move into her off campus apartment. I need a vacation!!! Oh, wait...I just got back from one.....darn!!! Heck, I need another one anyway!!! October can't get here fast enough!!!

Loved the pics Allen and you are making me hungry......that dessert looks yummy!!!

Talk soon!!!

that flight does sound very exciting LOL we had once on a flight 2 police officers transporting a convict. He was being transfered to another prison!!!!!

Can't wait to see pictures!!!!!!!! and you're not alone in wanting a vacation LOL
have a safe drive tomorrow!! :goodvibes

Hello strangers!
First we had the water damage to our house, which I'm still working out the repair details for and then we had vacation. It's been a while since I've posted so lots of catching up to do now! Looks like lots of Parrotthead Pirate conversations have been going on, not sure I will ever catch up, so have I missed anything exciting or important?
Hope everyone is doing well. The cruise is getting close (finally) and lots of decisions to make. It seemed so far away for so long and suddenly it feels really close and I have to hurry and plan, yea!
Take care, Mary

Hi Mary!!!!!!! we are now just starting to talk about planning a Dis meet onboard, so when everything is planned we will have everything posted on the website!! but we would love to hear your ideas too!!!! so that way we can all decide!!!

thanks Mary, apparently that is not something they have at that hospital... once he is released they will have to stay very close in an apartment of some kind. Frustrating for sure! Funny how different parts of the country are. When we went to Boston Children's the last 2 yrs there was NO Ronald McDonald house at all... and hotels were outrageously expensive near the hospital.

Angel is out of surgery, and doing well based on what I have heard. He is SUCH a great kid...

it's a shame they don't have more housing available!!!!!!!!!
happy to hear he is doing well!!!!!!! :goodvibes

:thanks: Thank you so much :worship: Yea My son loves animals so the Butterfly farm and zoo would be nice for him...Coral world..hmmm Im going to check that out as well :thumbsup2

Ok one more question...Is any of the ports of call like Nassau? Im kinda hoping not :rolleyes1 Im just asking because when we went to Nassau we were very UNimpressed :scared: And If any are like it, then we prefer to stay on the ship ::yes::

you're welcome!!! here's the link to Coral World...

it looks like a great place to bring children to!! have fun deciding LOL

later..........:cool2:

I'm sorry to hear that they don't have housing for the families. There must be a huge need for it. My cousin went thru a very similar situation with her daughter in a hospital in Seattle. She spent every penny she could get her hands on for lodging and even stayed in some undesirable places. Family and friends (no one was local) helped with what they could. She is still in debt, but her daughter is recovering, which is the important thing. It's a shame. Sending good thoughts that it will all work out.

Hello All! Found the new thread!

Heidi, glad to hear your friend is doing well after surgery!!! Please keep us posted!

What was the prank on Nancy? Can you tell us online? Too funny!!

Allen, thanks for the photos! It's great to put faces with names!

MJ, what a scary thing to happen on the flight! I am really surprised he thought he would get away with it! I guess he'll be backing Nicorette the next time! Duh!

I am sure I am forgetting something....

I'll be around later... have to make dinner!

I'm looking out my office window at the smoke stack of the Carnival Victory as it gets set to leave for a 5-day cruise up to Canada. Yes, I know it isn't DCL, but I'm just sitting here dreaming that in two and a half months, I'll be on a ship just like it, as it leaves port for a wonderful week of fun.

I am re-posting this so it get the attention it deserves!!!!:rotfl2:

****ATTENTION: CRUISE INFO****
I have the green mickey heads made for everyone on the list. I have not received list info from gouodux, or Disney Becky, so send me that info!!!!!! Maureen sent me an email and we do need to start "nailing" down some of these activities we have been talking about. We have been talking party at CI&S. At last check, they do not have a bar at the pool. So we will need to bring our own beverages. NO GLASS is generally the rule around pools. So if your beverage of choice is only available in glass....like Landshark, be sure you have a cup!!! I have music on an ipod, but I'm not sure what we will have to plug it up to at this point. Maybe Kristin could start an activities page on the website so we can keep up with these decisions we make. It has been mentioned, but we need to try to decide when, where and how's of a group picture if everyone is so inclined. You know we will meet at sail-a way somewhere. We might have an outside location selected, and an inside location in case of rain. Would anyone like to volunteer to keep a list of these activities that could be updated and sent to Kristin for posting on the website?? (I think Pinkygirl has access to the website, yes???) Anyway.....food for thought. Off to a meeting, see you later!!
Allen

UPDATE:I think Sandy (gometros) has agreed to keep the activities list, correct?? :confused3 Correct me if I'm wrong!!! As we decide what we will do and when, she will update the list and provide it to Nancy or Kristin to post on the website!! THANKS!!!! :yay:
If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or recommendations, SPEAK UP!!!! :teeth:

Allen, I noticed you took out the 2nd T in the Mickey Head. Thanks!

Kristin, over on the Creative DISigns thread, someone is making resort signs. Would be great as a scrapbooking page or the background in a photoframe. Thought you might like this.....

Off to water my flowers!

Pinkygirl, Thank you so much, Im going to check out the site now :goodvibes

About the meets, When we decide on when and where, Is anyone else bringing their kids with them to the meet??? I have my DS (will be 3) so I think he might be the youngest kid in the group ;) and he wont go anywhere without us (so that means he will be attached at the hip to us during the trip  And I wasnt sure if we would be out of place during the meet :scared: I would love meet up with some of ya But I must admit, I am extremely shy in person and may not talk unless talked to :rolleyes1 Im trying so hard to overcome this obstacle but i suffer from anxiety (have suffered my entire life) and it isnt something that seems to be going away anytime soon...I do work hard at it though and it kills me to not be able to come up to talk when I want so badly to:sad1: I do wonderfully behind the computer but in person its so different :guilty:

I would think at least for the main meet we would all bring our kids, don't you guys agree?? And yours is not the youngest, Alex has darling Rebecca, how old is she Alex? She's just a baby. According to the list there is at least 1 other 3 year old in our group, and a 4 year old, so I wouldn't fret about having him along.

My 3 year old son Nathaniel will love playing with your 3 year old!

At our cruise last year, the inside event had a little mixer game for the kids so they could get to know each other. I think Def bring the little ones.

Shauna, Our boys will be with us!! On the last 2 cruises, all the meets were for families, not just adults. Now the meet that Kristin's Travel Agent is planning, I don't know about that one, that might be for the adults only, but she would know...and you would have had to have booked with her agent as well.
Try not to be too shy! We are all very friendly and so far as I can tell, none of us bite!! I know it's nothing to make fun of, and I am not, really, I am just trying to make you feel comfortable with us!!!! Can't wait to meet you in person!!!

Be sure to wear something that identifies you, and you will be bombarded!!!! I think someone is working on t-shirts for us to wear, so that shouldn't be a problem. Just show up at the sail away meet location, when that is decided, and you will be warmly greeted, I'm sure!
