$70 is a good price compared to $45 each for a private tour!!! LOL mind if we follow you?? LOL we want to do the butterfly farm too and the zoo and Maho beach for the airplanes for sure!!!!!!!!
so you don't have to book the car in advance then?? that's pretty cool!

Absolutely, looks like we have the same plans!! We are going to book in advance, just to be sure we have a car.

Hi Maureen!
Hi Gina!
Hi Nancy!
Hi Candy!!

Are we all staying up to make Palo Ressies tonight!? I am not so sure! LOL I asked Steve if he was going to stay up...he's the night owl, not me, and he said, I dunno. I don't think either one of us is eager to get Palo ressies. We are just as content to eat in the dining room with our kids and friends!

I can't make mine for 2 weeks yet. And we really haven't talked about it actually. BUt if I'm awake I'll stay up and watch everybody else make theirs.

Nancy you are right that beach is awesome, the water is so blue

and you can walk so far out before it gets deep!!!!!!! we might be doing both beaches if there is enough time!! LOL

I wish we could make Palo ressies!!!!!!! We have to wait about 15 more days!!!! Ugh!!!!

Us too. I know we don't want dinner. Not even sure if we want brunch or not. Dh is not that interested.

Where are you renting from? I want to see the planes too, and I think I'd just like to drive around for awhile. We are in port till 7 there? What time do you have to leave Maho, I've heard about the traffic. If my guys go sailing we wouldn't even be able to get the car until noon or so.

I have read something about a bridge opening at a certain time and you have to cross it before it does or you will not make it back in time. I believe Maho beach is on the other side. I will have to find that thread...................

You are correct. It's been suggested that you leave Maho beach NO LATER then 3 to make the bridge crossing before it goes up. we are in port until 7. If you have late dining, no worries, if you have early, you'd want to be back.

awesome!!!!!!!
I'll be calling you this week Gina about meeting up at the zoo on the 19th! I hope it's going to be a nice day with no rain!! :goodvibes

Here is that thread I was talking about.

Not sure where we are renting from, dh has been researching, I'll let you know though.

I thought that got settled, cause the bridge opens at like 4pm and we don't sail till 7. Something like that. Should be plenty of time to let the bridge open and make the ship

awesome!!!!!!!

So its the 19th?? Sounds like fun, can't wait to meet you, it might just be me and the kidlets though, Alec might have to work, I'll know as it gets closer. We did the sting ray bay last time we went, its $3 each, nothing fancy but a must do, my kidlets loved it and they let you feed them too.

I'd like to start counter clockwise so that way we do the butterfly farm in the am and by the time we go all around the island we get to Maho during the afternoon in time to see the big airplanes!!! Divi beach is after that before you get to the ships! but you are right though about the bridge...I'll look into it to see what time it goes up so I can get across earlier and not be late!!!!

okay, I am calling it a night....I'll try to make Palo's in the morning. If it's there, it's there, if not, no biggie!!!

Everyone have a good night and I"ll see you tomorrow!!!!!!!!

Yeah, getting stuck at the bridge and missing the boat would be a HUGE bummer LOL. Missing dinner is not the end of the world, since we can eat counter service or something if we need to (but we'd miss Denis and Nancy unless they were stuck at the bridge too LOL).

Anyone have a link to a good detailed map of the island?

That makes total sense.

Night Michele.

OK, so as of about a year ago the bridge was opening at 5:30pm. I think Rich and i would call it a day well b4 that anyhow. But we can always check Cruise critic and ask there what time the bridge goes up these days. Or if its even the same time everyday.

I read this on another thread

"Maho beach was a great place to watch aircraft. The jets start landing at around 11:30, the big birds (A340, 747 etc) land between 2:00 and 4:00. The 747's don't land every day, check the schedules for KLM and Corsair. The beach is beautiful as is the water, which is very inviting to swimmers. Note that it's a swimsuit optional beach, so there is likely to be a few topless sunbathers.

At one end of the beach is the Sunset Beach Bar, http://www.sunsetbeachbar.com/ , where you can get drinks and food, they also have restroom.

I rented a car and drove there from the docks. Beware that traffic can get pretty bad at around 4:00 due to rush hour and draw-bridge activity. I left at around 2:30 and got back to the docks with plenty of time to spare. Have fun! "
