Walt Disney World Resort Unveils New Vision for Downtown Disney
Walt Disney World Resort unveiled a new vision for Downtown Disney, with new shopping, dining and other experiences including a completely re-imagined Pleasure Island. Also planned are numerous enhancements to popular Downtown Disney locations, as well as additional theming and storytelling brought to life by Walt Disney Imagineers.
To make way for the new offerings, all of the clubs currently on Pleasure Island, including the Adventurers Club, will close permanently on September 27.
Other locations on Pleasure Island, including Raglan Road, Fuego by Sosa Cigars, Curl by Sammy Duval, Orlando Harley-Davidson and outdoor food and beverage locations, will remain open during the transition.
Over the next year, the 120-acre entertainment-shopping-dining complex will add a number of one-of-a-kind, immersive experiences for guests. Downtown Disney will even get its own iconic attraction, in the form of a giant, tethered balloon that will take guests 300 feet into the air to view the amazing vistas of Walt Disney World Resort. Other new experiences include:
In fall 2008, guests will enter a world of prehistoric creatures at T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure. The dinosaur-themed family eatery will serve up pizzas, pastas, seafood and more, and will feature life-size animated dinosaurs that dwell among bubbling geysers, waterfalls and a fossil dig site.
Also this fall, a design-your-own t-shirt store from Hanes will add to the growing collection of merchandise guests can personalize at Downtown Disney.
E-brands Restaurants, an Orlando-based, multi-concept restaurant group, will premier its newest concept at Downtown Disney in spring 2009. The high-energy, casual eatery will feature authentic Central and South American cuisine, specialty drinks and live music along the waterfront.
Guests also will enjoy a brand new mix of shopping and dining experiences at Pleasure Island as it is transformed over the next two years. To complement these new experiences, many popular Downtown Disney locations will undergo enhancements.
Beginning this summer, Portobello Yacht Club will be transformed into a Tuscan Country Trattoria. The refreshed menu features authentic Italian dishes and signature favorites and a re-designed interior along with an outdoor dining space.
This fall, Goofy's Candy Company will add a special new room that will enable families to host one-of-a-kind birthday parties at Downtown Disney.
The Marketplace Stage will be completely replaced with a larger, covered stage this fall to welcome even more entertainment to Downtown Disney and serve as a new premier venue for Disney Magic Music Days.
Fulton's Crab House will update its interior fixtures and furnishing and exterior in Spring 2009. The enhancements include a refreshed third floor deck dining area to offer additional Disney guests and larger private parties the traditional Fulton's experience.
Next year, Wolfgang Puck Café will update its interior fixtures and furnishings and will feature an enclosed glass patio offering guests a year-round outdoor dining experience.
These efforts come on the heels of recent enhancements at World of Disney, Wolfgang Puck Express, Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, Earl of Sandwich and Cap'n Jack's Restaurant. DeleteReplyForwardSpamMove...

Hi Denise, how are ya??????

Are you getting tons of rain out there???????

Sorry I missed you last night.

We had a great (and much needed) storm on Sunday night, but that has been it. Actually, my dh's company had to close their office yesterday because they had no power. Of course, he is in Brazil, so it didn't matter to him at all.

Goodnight everyone!! sweet dreamsI bet I'll dream of bugs tonight now!!!!! :rotfl:

Goodnight Denis!!!!
Goodnight Nancy.......try not to dream about bugs!!!!!!:rotfl2:

LOL, I've been listening to Channel 3 for a week!!! And at work, the new Movie soundtrack. We were going Friday night but Alexa's perfomance is then, so we are going Sat. morning instead.

Morning everyone!!!

No good bugs in my book, I hate them all. The man next door is terrified of spiders though, he is very entertaining when he sees one LOL!!!
Boy, my high school Biology teacher, Mrs. Comer, would be all over y'all about this talk of bugs! She would be pounding on her desk shouting "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BUG!!!! THEY ARE INSECTS!!!!" :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Sean was so excited to hear about the T-rex restaurant that he had me look it up on the internet. We found out that it is the same company that does Rainforest Cafe, and they already HAVE one built in Kansas City!SO... on our way home from the cruise it just so happens that Kansas City is one of the places I had planned for us to stop at overnight... Doesn't hurt that I have a 10% discount card from them either... LOL!

Cool stuff... looking forward to our next trip to the world, in a few YEARS.

Well then y'all oughta see the "Palmetto Insect"

Y'all talk about moths and cockroaches being scary..... They've got nothing on this bug(sorry Allen's teacher:rotfl: ) We had them back where we used to live, and I swear some of them were nearly the size of my hand:scared1:

And wait'll you see my hand, no dainty lady fingers here. Daddy's football playing hands I got, also his shoulders but I digress. This is the only bug I have actually screamed at for someone else to kill and good luck with that.

TG they don't live at this house:rotfl:

HI all!

I'm working again, yuck, but thought I'd say "hi".

There was a HUGE spider inside the screenporch today. I tried to kill it, but it fell and scurried between the deck boards, which means he is sitting there waiting for me to not pay attention so he can come back!!!!!! ICK!

Hi everyone!!!

So quiet in the house without the boys here. Not so sure I am going to like when they go to college!

Erika, CONGRATS to Alexa on her role as the genie!! Very Cool!!

Gouodux, That cruise will be SO much fun!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!!

Nancy, I hope Josh is going to be okay. That's horrible!!! I wish they would instill parenting classes before you had kids!!

Denis, missed the post about your sunburn. Another option, if you run out of aloe, is hemmeroid creme. Go ahead and laugh, but what is the purpose of that creme? To releive swelling and burning! I know it works, my mom used it on a vacation once!!!

Kristin, What sunscreen was it?? I want to make sure we don't use it! Connor got a rash from using Coppertone, but it wasn't that severe. Just a shower and a couple Benedryl and he was fine. I hope this goes away quickly!!

Here's a moth story for you.....As some of you know, Moths are also called Millers. Miller is my grandparent's last name. My grandparents were at my Mom's for a visit, so a lot of family was at the house. My sister's then boyfriend, now husband, was taking his bag to the car and when he opened the front door, a couple of moths flew into the house. He just swatted at them and said, "Damn Millers". My sisters and I just looked at each other and then BURST out laughing!!! My BIL just stood there for a second and said, "What? Haven't you ever heard them called Miller before?" We all said, "Yes, but that's THEIR last name!" Pointing to my grandparents. My BIL about melted into the floor!! We still get a chuckle out of that today!!!!!

I wanted to go and see MamaMia tomorrow night with a friend, but since it's not showing until Friday, we are going to go and see Hancock instead. We are sort of doing a Mom's Night Out! Her DH will watch her kids and mine are still at Granny's!

Pizza is almost ready and we are watching the All Star Game!

Evening everybody:wave:

Kristen I'm sorry to hear about your reaction. I've read about that b4 somewhere, Paba(sp?) i think is in a bunch of sunblocks, just have to check the labels b4 you buy.

Anyhow, Rich is off for his usual tues. night meet with a friend. I'm at home as usual for a bit b4 I head to bed.

Hi Maureen!!!!

I have to leave in a bit to take the TIki Hut Decor back to a friend, who is passing it on to another. I am just happy to get it out of my garage!
