I remember those dang graphing calculators in school. Thankfully our school had the option of renting them when I went...Thats what we had to do because our family just could not afford to buy one :sad2: But Im still not sure that I have ever truly figured out how to use those things :lmao:

Kaj will teach you! LOL... he LOVES his calculator! And is pretty patient too when it comes to teaching.... :)

That would be cool, Although Im not sure i will ever use one since I am pretty much a housewife and stay at home mom..:goodvibes But its good info to know :thumbsup2 My Iphone has some scientific properties to it if you turn the regular calculator sideways....I was looking at it just yesterday trying to figure out what everything was...still have no clue :rotfl2:

Yeah, you never know when you will have to help Christopher with his math homework! Unless you decide to homeschool him of course! LOL! :):cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Better not show Kaj your iphone... he is a little... irritating at times when it comes to such things. He says he hates my macbook, but I know deep down it is because he is jealous of it, but can't let ME know it since I won't let him USE it! He is after all 14 and daddy's boy! LOL! Truth is I don't trust him on it... he might learn more about it than *I* know and that would be totally unacceptable! LOL

Kristin, you should have called my cell! We were just running to....TARGET! LOL Steve found a graphing calculator there that he really wanted to get for Colton. They had the best price AND he had a $10 gift card. This bugger cost a small fortune! we've threaten Colton within an inch of his life if he loses, breaks, or has it stolen!

we are getting ready to eat! I can call you in a bit!!

Great, thanks, I thought about it but did not want to "bug" ya!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a TI-55 Scientific when I went to Nashville Tech in 1983. Never did figure out how to use it. I could do what I needed to, but it was to much!! Now I have a little TI-36X, still scientific, but much more my speed!! And it only cost $12.00!! That TI-55 cost over $100 in 1983!!!:scared1:

We got the IT-84 Plus Silver Edition. whatEVER that means! LOL We've told Colton this will be his best friend for the next 6 years.

Yea that is true about helping Chris with his homework...We are still trying to decide what we want to do about school. I would love to homeschool him but I also know that a regular school would be beneficial for him as well...so we are torn. The bad part is that the schools around here are WAY below par...so IF we send him to school it will probably be the Private school that is just down the road...BAD part: They have a waiting list I do believe. :confused3 I know that we need to decide soon though...WOW school, its hard to believe that its coming up for us so soon. :lovestruc

I have a Macbook as well! I LOVE my laptop  I bring it with me EVERYWHERE...I dont have a desktop computer (Mike does...but his is a mac as well) we have turned MAC as you can probably tell...just happened about 2 years ago..IF that. But hubby has to deal with PC's anyway for work so thats what I have here at DMIL'S. Mike (Hubby) LOVES showing off the iphone, ours isnt the new ones but we love them just the same. I dont mind if he wants to see it and such, Chris gets to play around with it occasionally as well  :rotfl:

Been there done that! Bought Matthew the 84+ 4 years ago for $125. He has not dropped it, lost it or broken it! Now, Thursday I bought one for Alexa! UGH, that is a lot of calculator cash!!! Hers was only $99 after rebates though, and it's hot pink!

I bought a magnet roll today for my door signs and I ordered a white mat for an 11x14 frame with a 6x8 opening. A little bit of progress.

I am pretty sure that is the one that Kaj has, only he had to pay more for it! Be prepared... he can download GAMES on it from the computer... Kaj got into some trouble from his TEACHER on that one, and even got sent to the principals office once! LOL! I don't mind the games, but if he plays them during school time or homework time, that is totally NOT acceptable!

It is a very good calculator, and will serve him well for years to come. If he wants Kaj to teach him something about it, have him bring it on the cruise and I am sure Kaj will be happy to give him a tutorial. :)

erika, we got Colton's at Target for $94, no rebates. Steve looked at several online today, so he knew what we were going for. When we got to Target, the area we were looking in, electronics, only had the pink one, so I asked if there were more in the store. At first he said, No, but then he said, Wait, there might be one back here. SO back to the school/seasonal aisle we headed and sure enough, there was a silver one! thank goodness! LOL I don't think Colton would have liked the pink one! LOL

Heidi, I can just about assure you that Colton will be doing homework on the cruise. He has had at least 50 problems to work a night. I am sure it will continue on while we are gone. We have decided we are just going to have to set aside an hour a day to do work. That is the sacrifice we have to make for traveling during the school season!

Have to get the trash out....BRB

Hey Kristin

Michele- What you dont think that Colton would like a nice pink calculator :lmao: Good thing that they found the silver one for him...I dont think that he would be able to live that down in school :confused3 And I do think that would cause him to start disliking Math class

Hey Shauna,,

Going to start to put my laundry away.. I need to pick up before tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristin- I have laundry that I need to put away as well but before i do that, we have to bring it back home from DMIL'S where we wash it at :rotfl: I guess i should do that tonight since we are leaving tomorrow (well Chris and myself are leaving)...Hubby might need some of those towels this week :confused3 :rotfl2:

I don't think Kaj would have gone for pink either! LOL! though I think there are skins you can buy for them... LOL! Kaj has talked about it, but so far has found other more important things to spend his hard earned $$ on. Like acting camp! LOL...

I have considered having the boys do a bit of schoolwork during the cruise, probably only a little journaling, and in Sean's case he will get some good social interaction when he goes to the kids groups. For him that is a much more important thing than some of the typical school stuff... independence from mom and dad is something we are working on this year, though NOT giving him sign out priveleges if we have a choice in the matter!

Hello guys! We just got home from church. It ran long tonight. I think I probably over did it a bit. I woke up feeling better, so I went at a dead run today. Now, I'm totally exhausted. Probably should have let my energy level rise a little before putting in a full day like this.

Thank God tomorrow is a holiday and no work!!!!!!!

Hey Gail- Take it easy and relax some, dont want you to get more sick or run yourself ragged before the cruise :goodvibes

Heidi- Has Sean always had a hard time interacting with his peers? Im asking because I worry about this with Chris. I know its going to be a little while before school (not that long) but that is one thing I worry about for him. I know that I did when I was in school (due to the anxiety I suffer from) but i almost see Chris heading in that direction. He does Great with adults and older kids, but with younger kids or kids his age he is more aprehensive. :confused3

Heidi, I don't think we have a choice in the sign out priveleges. I think all 11 yo's are aloud. We plan on setting some sort of rule though....calling and leaving a message in the room, stopping in the room, or knowing where we are and coming to us to tell us what the next plan is. We let them do this 2 years ago, but at the time, we still had a pager for Connor, so we would get a page that would say something like..."the boys are going up for ice cream" At least we knew where they were going. I think with them leaving us a message at the room, we'll be okay. I wonder if we can pick up messages at any house phone? we are going to have a ton of questions about that when we get there!

Oh you don't have to say that twice. We were planning to go shopping tomorrow, but that's out of the question. I still have laundry to do, but other than that, I'm just laying around tomorrow. Our local festival is this week from Wed to Sat and I'll be expected to be there. I've got to get back on my feet.

Gail, don't push yourself!! You need to get better!!!!

Shauna, have you thought about preschool? Now that he's potty trained, it might be a good idea!! I know you're a SAHM, but it's always good for the kids to interact with kids thier own age. It's like I told the lady I sit for, I can teach the ABC's, the 123's and how to write their names, but I can't BE a 4 year old. I can share, a 4 yo can't. Plus they learn so much more, like standing in line, waiting thier turn, routine, etc. Even if you homeschool, it's always good to have interaction with other kids!! Have you looked into a Moms Club in your area? the boys and I were in one for YEARS. They have different activities for the moms and kids. I know this would be hard for you, but it would be a great way to meet other Moms and get ideas!!! Sorry for ratteling! LOL HTH!
