I am popping on to install my new printer! I went all the way to Best Buy and it was $50. I needed a USB cable, but the only one they had was $32, so I passed and waited to call Steve and see if he had one. Went to Walmart to get a USB cable...it was $11, BUT I also found the exact same printer on the shelf for $38...with a special edition scrapbook kit included. I picked it up and decided to take the other back to Best Buy later this week. BUT when I got to the checkout, the printer rang up for $29.88! WHOO HOO!! SCORE! I got a USB cable too, but Steve has since called me back, so I'll return it too! Needless to say, I got a new printer for our signs and tshirts for under $30!! I did get extra ink too, but that was nearly the same price at both stores.

I have never installed anything on the computer before, so I hope I get it right! Wish me luck!!!

Next I need to call the shipping company to see what we can ship to the stateroom...again, the Disney folks said no food or liquids, which pretty much means a good portion of what I had planned on shipping (favorite snacks, juice boxes, water)!

OK, I know this has probably been answered a few times over the last year, and I'm sure I've asked this same question a million times, but...can you bring a roll-on cooler onto the cruise? I was told NO by the Disney folks and it is printed in the Passporter as well as the Disney booklet that you cannot except for medical purposes.

We have been OK'd to bring on a small cooler for my DD6's medications that need to be kept cold, but a roll-on?

it's a soft sided roll on cooler that we got! and I heard that these were ok as long as you DON'T PUT ICE in it!!!!!! :)
 
Yes, I guess I will be busy! good thing I am on vacation!!

I just found a Canon Printer that had good reviews for under $50! I am going to run to Best Buy and get it! It said on the web that it is in stock. I can start printing today! (If I can get the dang thing connected and running! LOL)

Nancy, did you try Walmart for Tshirts? I got Connor's in the boys dept for $3, mine and Colton's in the men's for $4.50 and Steve's in the big guys for $5.50! I think they are Hanes T's.

Coffee and caffine are kickin' in!!! later!

Oh and Renee, I don't know the answer to your question. It seems there is a lot of controversy as to whether you can or cannot! I plan on having an extra bag, in a bag, to bring a case of water on board.

so now I am all set to do ALL my shirts tonight!!!!!!

and I FOUND SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!! to go with my dress for formal night!!! they were $10 off from $60 so not too bad:yay:

and Denis will be picking up the rest of the FE stuff tonight so I can put all those together as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sending packages ahead of time to the ship:

PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!!


-ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.

-The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.

-The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.

-NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.

- The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:

IDS c/o (Ship Name) / Ground Services
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
9001 Marlin Street
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information:ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING

Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Friday for Saturday and Sunday sailings.

Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Wednesday for Thursday sailings.

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding.

These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

I posted a thread on the Main Cruise thread and someone told me they sailed on Aug. 3rd and they brought those cold/hot cooler bags with no ice onboard with alcohol in them and they were fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Evening Fellow Parrotheads!!

We had a busy but nice day!! Took Steve into Charleston to meet the charter bus to take him to Baltimore. Came home, packed the truck and left just before 10 to back to Charleston for the Kick Off Classic. Was there until 230. Stripped Connor of his pads and went to TGIFridays for a late lunch/early dinner, we call it Linner. Stopped in Stapes to find Iron On Transfer Paper for a LASER printer, they don't have it, but did get the boys each a "trapper keeper" for school. It's not actually a trapper, but that gives you an idea of what it is. Then we came home, Connor showered and I cut grass and cussed and watered flowers. Got my shower and tried to upload the photos to PictureTrail and it's not working right. I"ll try again in a bit. Connor had so much fun today, but he is EXHAUSTED. We are starting the night time school schedule too. It's especially easy with Steve out of town because I go to bed earlier. Steve stays up late. It's always been that way. I am a morning person, he is a night owl.
tomorrow I have to take my truck to the autobody shop. :sad1: I'll probably get it back Wednesday. Then it's waiting on the A/C guys to come and replace our thermostat upstairs. How long can we drag this out? heat pump, attic fans, thermostat......and over 2 months of my time! Then it's off to football practice, again!

I think the Stick Figures that Nancy is refering to, are the ones in my siggy! I just love them! I have them printed and on my fridge!

Speaking of printing, I have a dilema. My wonderful, loving, adorable husband, gave away our inkjet printer when he purchased us this top of the line HP Laser printer. Now I can't print magnets AND I can't print iron ons! He did some research last night and I can not use the ink jet transfers in the HP Laser. The HP gets so hot that it melts the paper in the machine and gums it up! PLUS the laser transfers have to be ironed on with a professional iron as it needs a temp of 475 and so many pounds of pressure. Soooooo, I can't decide whether I should ask a friend to print it for me, find out if Staples or Office Max can do this, OR just go and buy a cheap as I can find Color ink Jet to have to print all my stuff! For what I would pay to have stuff printed and laminated, I could probably buy a printer. WWYD?

Off to try PictureTrail again.....

Add magnetic tape to the back and we're done. Lovely door magnets. Can't help with Iron on dilemna. But at least that's part of it done.

I was going to go that route too, but for what I would spend on laminating and magnets, and not knowing how I was going to get the shirts done, I figured a printer was the way to go. And for under $30, that can't be beat!!!!! When Steve called today, I told him, your either going to be mad at me or okay with it, but I bought a new ink jet. He seemed okay with it and told me good luck with installing it. I had never done that before, but it was easy! I have our Ears for the doors, green mickey heads, mickey stick figures and the Tag You're It signs printed. Once we did those, we rushed off to Best Buy to return the printer, Walmart to return the USB cable and to get another set of shirts and more transfer paper. Colton would like to put the black Mickey heads with our names on the front and the Beware of Pirates on the back! I think they'll be cute!
I also need more magnetic paper, but Walmart had none!!!

Someone took this from her flight yesterday out of LAX about 4:15, just before the Magic left L.A.!!!!!!!!!
See that little water area on the other side of the Magic??? On the other side of the water there is a long grass area with a sidewalk. If you look closely you might be able to see it!!! Anyway, it has benches all along there with those binocculer machines lined up along there too!!!!! That's where we were when we looked at the Magic in May!!!!!

I think this is a the best shot of the Magic in San Pedro!!!!!!!

I don't have time to catch up yet. There are alot of pages. I may need an update from someone. We've been out of town in Miami for a few days for my 20 yr high school reunion. Now we got the word this afternoon that effective 6 am tomorrow we have to evacuate the island for Fay. (lovely), So, I'll be out of touch again for a few days. I'm in the middle of packing clothes and food for the 3 boys now. Got my FE in the mail today-it looks great. I'll check in once we are back in for an update. Everybody take care.
