We are trying to decide between the last week of October or the 2nd week of November. It has been 5 years since our last visit, and this is our first with a toddler. November will hopefully be cooler, we prefer Christmas to Halloween, we will miss 4 days of school instead of 5, and I think flying when daylight savings time ends might help with the time change from west coast. However this week includes Wine & Dine and Veterans Day. Do you think the crowds will be bad enough that we should do the last week of October instead?

I would always choose Christmas decor over Halloween. You can check some crowd calendars to compare the two weeks expected crowds.

Many variables.
Halloween vs Christmas decorations.
Do you enjoy Food & Wine? In the past it was done by mid November, last year it wasn't.
When is Jersey week this year?
Any Holiday, makes the parks more crowded.

Jersey Week is the second week of November and does fall into Veteran's Day but I've never found it to increase crowds in any way. There will be a lot of people from NJ but it doesn't make the crowds unbearable IMO.

I prefer Christmas over Halloween too. Coming from the west coast that "extra" hour could help you some.

We've been in October numerous times and that second week of November once. Though I do love the Christmas decor, November was markedly more crowded than anything we've experienced in October.

We've gone both times, but prefer November, even though it's somewhat more crowded, the weather has usually turned a bit cooler by then. We went last year on Nov 11 for a week and the weather was great, crowds were manageable as well.

We have been there several times over Jersey week and it seemed much more crowded than our week in October. However, do miss the Christmas decorations.

We've gone multiple times during both timeframes. Mid-November has been more crowded each time, especially on the weekends. However, this year could be different.

Dare I say they might be about the same crowdwise?

If you prefer one decor over the other, then do that one. My experience with October was hot as all heck. Like summer hot and humid.

Definitely avoid Epcot on the weekends. We did Epcot one Saturday during Jersey week and it ended up being veterans weekend or day too and holy crap. It was insane. By 1 pm you could barely walk through WS. Never again. I got out of there so quick. I was borderline not feeling safe.

Yes, this ^^. We went in mid-November 2019 and, stupidly, went to EP on a Saturday. All was well in FW and then we headed toward WS and took a left to go to Mexico - wow! We could barely move. It was awful! We immediately turned around and didn't attempt any more of WS that day.

We typically go the week before Thanksgiving but also went once in early October.

October was both HOT and very much more humid than November.

One November caution--it can get terribly cold if an Arctic clipper swings that far south and stalls. We've three times experienced highs in the 40s with 20s windchills and lows near freezing. Bring winter gear--including lots of warm socks and blanket or throw for your toddler.

And then there was the time at Christmas with highs in the low-100s most of the week. Even the CMs were griping that the weather was soooo not normal.

Maybe it's that the weather pixies like to torture us?

The week before Thanksgiving has low crowds?
This year, Thanksgiving is Nov. 24. So you would go approx. from Nov. 13-18?
