Starting to think about our next trip ... we’re a group of 12 and lots of schedules to coordinate. Early Oct. and early Dec. 2019 are both options that work for everyone at this point.

We are all 100% okay with skipping Galaxy’s Edge on this trip and catching it on the next one. If it’s not open, that’s fine! If it is open we will still save it for the next trip. We are in no rush. We would be checking out TSL for the first time, though.

I normally don’t pay too much attention to crowd predictions because we usually just go when we all can go. There aren’t usually 2 options on the table that work for everyone, though.

Most of us would probably prefer early December to see the Christmas decorations, but I’m wondering what SWGE’s impact on other areas of the parks could be at that time. Perhaps early Oct. (presumably before SWGE is open) would be a little slower than normal if people are waiting for SWGE to open?

Any input welcome! Either way, we won’t be disappointed. We’ve been on the busiest days of the year and the slowest and always have a great time either way.

If most of you would probably prefer early December, then that's what you should do. It is IMPOSSIBLE to predict what SWGE's impact will be since we don't even know what "late fall 2019 means." It could end up being October for all we know.

Normally, I'd say you probably have a better chance at lower crowds in December since it seems October is the new summer. I still will go out on a limb and say that December may be slightly better crowd-wise because it will be right before the holiday break for kids.

Plus it's Christmas time and the park it just magical at the holidays.

I did October a few years ago. The weather was still hot during the day, but not crazy humid. I love night time at the parks and you get a nice early evening in October.

I think the main factors you'll have to decide for yourself is:
Halloween vs. Christmas
Swimming vs. potentially no swimming.
