oct fly-drives

anyone ever managed to get a flydrive at the last minute around this time?
if we can get the kids out of school for a week we are going to try and get a last minute booking the last week of half term.
are there any particular sites that anyone has tried and tested?

grateful for any info

Good luck with the search. When we looked with Virgin a couple of months back, we couldn't get anything - it was fully booked (both through holidays & direct with VA unless we wanted upper class!). It seems that everuone is heading out for half term & a week either side. We've settled with an earlier week in October booking with VA. DD whas 6 days approved leave from school to cover the 1 week trip. We only fly to MCO & depart from Gatwick, but I guess you may have more luck going to Sanford or flying from a different airport. I think the days of cheap last minutes to the states around school holiday times are long gone (boo hoo).

I had trouble getting a fly drive for next October half term 2006 for seven of us. The flight I wanted with virgin was sold out for 12th,13th and 14th. We have now booked with BA. Only another 14 months to go!!!
