Oct flights on SW already sold out?

This morning I checked the SW site and I noticed that certain October flights I was watching weren't even listed any more. I just checked the site and all the flights are back, but many flights are sold out. Did I miss some big sale during the day? Glitch with SW computers? Freaking out a bit that we won't be able to get a flight almost 5 1/2 months out.....

Don't know what's up, but you're not the only one. I fly out of Philly which is a hub for Southwest. I'm heading down to MCO in Oct. I was tracking flight prices and everything looked good as of Friday 4/19. I decided to finally book for my October trip today 4/20 ... imagine my surprise when less than 24 hours later the flights I was looking at were showing sold out. I then checked and the same flight was showing sold out for several months in advance.

My guess is that this in either a glitch, or the sold out flights are an indication of consolidation between Airtran and Southwest schedules. It's an ugly time for flyers looking towards 3rd and 4th quarter flights. Airtran and Southwest mergers will muck with flight plans ... and while I was counting on Us Air out of Philly, the US Air / AA merger has pretty much kept me away from anything past summer scheduling.

How do you pick an airline when they're all folding faster than a paper airplane

Just checked again and now everything is available....even seats that have been showing sold out for weeks. So I'm guessing it was a glitch. I'm not a frequent traveler, so knowing when to buy and what price to pay is stressful enough....don't need this on top of it!

Thanks for the heads-up! Sure enough the flight I was planning on was showing available again today. I took this as a sign to jump on my reservation and I booked my flight. One less thing to worry about.
