Oct 4th-8th Any chance?

We were already planning a trip from Oct 4th-8th to do the Tower of Terror 10 miler when we decided to buy a resale contract. I currently have a cash reservation for those nights, but the contract comes with enough 2012 points to cover 4 nights in a studio.
We should close on the contract next week. I realize October 4th is only 4 months away and during F & W , but is there any chance that there will be any availability for those nights?
(I don't mind doing a split stay if we need to.)

We've been waitlisted for a studio for the weekend of 10/4 - 10/6 for several weeks now. I keep checking the other resorts we are not waitlisted for on a daily basis as well & nothing so far...

There is always a chance and you should check the website often and book what you see. Go on the wait list as well. Being willing to do a split stay is the first step. It sure does look pretty booked up, but people do cancel, especially as the 31 day mark approaches. What is your use year? Since you mentioned 2012 points, it may also be in your best interest to bank them if you have enough time left. And, where is your cash stay? If it is at a DVC resort you could do a wait list around the cash nights, meaning perhaps you could get cash on a couple nights and possibly points on remaining nights.

You could also do a couple nights on cash and a couple of nights in a one bedroom. The one bedroom would be roughly double the points and you might easily find a one bedroom at a couple of resorts as soon as you can book.

You could bank those points no matter what and still waitlist with borrowed points from your Dec 13 points, so you can still set up the waitlist up to 7 days before check in.

I went on the waitlist for one night (race night) at BWV in a studio at seven months. I got it about a week later, but I doubt you will be successful getting anything. I don't see anything available right now.

I missed booking BW in October at my 11 month window; forgot all about. I waited listed after the 7th month window was open. I didn't think there'd be any chance, but a week later, it came through.. I was shocked. I'd say it's going to be a long shot for you, but get a couple of wait lists going and keep checking..

I've been on a WL since the "Eat to the Beat" schedule was announced for the 5th through the 8th. At this point, I'd take any studio, but I'm guessing I'll be at SOG.

Saratoga Springs is your best bet, followed by OKW.

Just scored Oct 5 and Oct 7 today at OKW. I found it on my own, my WL didn't match as I still need the 6th. I'm hopeful that I can pick up the one night.

Did you cancel that WL and relist for just the 6th? You have a better shot of getting it that way.

It is busy but not impossible. The more open your mind about where you stay and whether you split the better your chances. We love split stays as we can never brings ourselves to only experience one resort so we always find something for our dates.

Remember that "Event Transportation has been arranged for those staying at select Event Host Resorts." When I look at the page for host resorts on rundisney, the Villa resorts that come up are OKW, SSR, and Beach Club.

If having transportation to and from the race is important, that's worth thinking about.

We're basically out of points for the 10-miler, but through rundisney got a FABULOUS (IMO) rate at POR, which I'm really excited about. We have APs so I didn't need a *package*, but they created a package for me with minigolf "tickets" instead of park tickets (and the minigolf was free), so that totally works for me!

I'm also trying to book the same nights as I am dying to see Sister Hazel at F&W.

A few days ago, I posted that I found Oct 5 and 7 at OKW in a studio. I booked them and WL the 6th and have been looking daily for the 4th.

Today the 6th opened up at OKW in a studio, but a Near HH studio. So, now I have a standard studio, a near, HH, and a standard again. To make matters more complicated, a studio also opened up on the 4th. At SSR. Booked that too. So, unless things change, I'll move every day of my 4night trip and my husband will probably kill me.

But, I've still held onto the WL for the studio on Oct 6th. I also WL the 5th and 6th at SSR ( I actually picked up the 4th and the 7th today) and dropped my BWV WL.

If I'm lucky, I'll get a whole stay in one place. I have a decent chance of only spending Fri at SSR and moving to OKW for 3 nights but that would be doable also. Just hoping for .....something.

I don't mind a split stay (2 nights and 2 nights) but I really would like to be in a Tower of Terror 10 miler "Host Hotel" for Saturday night (October 5th), for DVC they are OKW, SSR, and BCV.

My current wait lists are for all 4 nights at BVC and OKW. Would changing my wait lists to the 4th-6th at BVC and OKW be the right move? Or should I wait list a Jambo standard studio for October 4th and take a cab to and from the race?

If I were you, I would not waste one of my waitlists on BCV. At this point, you would be so far down on the waitlist since everyone wants to stay at BCV for food and wine. I would use one of my waitlists for the missing night at Jambo House, and waitlist the two nights at OKW, and hope for the best!

I just did the same type of thing. Found one night on my own. Now I have Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Crossing my fingers that the missing day at BWV comes through (Hoping some folks move to GF! )
