Hello All!!!

Denise, glad to hear you have great things going on with Heather and Izzy! :woohoo: St. Paddy's is my FAVORITE holiday. I'm all about the green. :thumbsup2 Cloudy and crummy as usual here, I'm so ready for a nice, warm sunny day!!! Supposed to snow tonight or tomorrow again.

I'm really hoping that summer goes by semi-fast, I want the cruise, but I'm not ready for winter again. :rotfl: I want to enjoy the warm, snow free days. :teeth:

Christine, have fun in N.O.!!!! I'm so jealous! lol I'm so ready for a vacation... DH and I *might* take a weekend day and head up to Chicago to the IKEA if I can talk him into it. lol Shopping is a vacation, right? :goodvibes

Greg, hope you are well! Miss teasing you on here, I guess I'll have to jump over to CC or FB if I want to talk to you...

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!:banana::banana:

It was a very busy and mentally draining weekend. My brother flew down from WI without my sis-in-law and nephew, and we worked on my parent's house all weekend. We loaded a Budget truck of furniture for our house, and a POD for brother for the trip to WI. He had a conference in Orlando this weekend, so the timing was great-free flight for him. DH also had a 3 day weekend, and DD spent the weekend at my in-laws. It was tough tol clean out the parent's house, but Mom passed away almost 9 months ago, and Dad 4 months ago. We should have the house in our names pretty soon so we can rent or sell.

The best news...Brother and sis-in-law saw the Wonder a few weeks ago when they were in Puerto Vallerta. Sis-in-law gets incredibly motion sick and we thought we would never get her on a cruise. Well, not only did they decide to try one, but they are taking us on a Disney Cruise in Jan or Feb 2012, for our Christmas gift. The 6 of us will probably do a 3 night so she can see how she does. Hopefully we hook them and can cruise with them more often! DD doesn't know, and won't until Christmas. I wish I could wait and book this cruise while we are onboard in October, but I don't dare wait that long. Guess we can always reshop :-) Brother had to tell me so I can book it all. Now just waiting on the dates :-)

Rainy and cloudy day here near Orlando. Cold front moving in. High tomorrow in the mid 60's...it will be nice to see a little cooler weather for a day or two. DD is on spring break next week, and somehow DH got the week off from work (He is a manager at WDW). Thanks to brother for a 2 night free stay at the Renaissance Hotel by Sea World, we are doing a staycation...2 nights at the hotel, visiting Sea World with wour annual passes, and heading to IOA and Universal with our new annual passes for there.

Stephanie

Morning everyone,

Stephanie make sure your SIL take motion sickness meds before she even gets on the ship and continues to take them as directed the entire cruise. If she waits until the ship is in motion they wont help or get the bracelet to wear. Many swear by it too. Make sure if she takes meds they are the non drowsey or she will sleep through the cruise. Hope it goes really well for her.

We have always had smooth seas in the Bahamas when we have cruised there, just a few little bumps as we first leave port but that only lasts 2 or 3 hours.

Pouring rain here today, wind is kicking up too so it will be a fun day today:sad2:
At least it's not snow.:thumbsup2

Catch everyone later,

Kathy

Thanks :-) I actually suggested she visit her dr. and talk to dr. about the Scapalomine patch. I don't get motion sick on land but do feel off at sea at times. I love the patch! I put it on in the terminal, and follow the directions...changing it half way through a 7 night. I have used it the past 7 cruises, and don't have issues. I'm so excited I get to be on the cruise with them for their first time, and even more excited it's free for me :-) Of course it's just under a year away, but I won't be as sad leaving the Dream in October knowing I will have another chance to be on the ship.

We. Had. MORE. Snow. Today. :headache:

Nothing going on here today so I'm going to try and get a nap in before DH goes to work today. It's cloudy and gloomy and perfect sleep all day weather. :goodvibes

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!:banana:

Hey everyone. My family will be on this cruise. :thumbsup2
DH, DS (will be 20months), my mom, my dad and I.

I wrote awhile ago that we would be on this cruise but I was wondering.
I know it is early but do you think there will be a fish exchange?
This would be my second Disney cruise but would be my first fish exchange.

So how many do we have cruising so far?

It's pouring rain here today (and yesterday). Dreaming Disney Dreams and Sunny Skies! :)

Also, ready for a weekend. I'm getting a little tired of 4th grade math and Poster assignments this week! Luckily, we are in year-round school and will get another break towards the end of April through the middle of May. Mommy cannot wait!

Don't brag too much Denise, after all your time is a few hours ahead of mine. So you do have an advantage. Of course as people get OLDER they need that advantage to keep ahead of the young whipper snappers like me :lmao:
Dont let them work you too hard today. juat keep dreaming of tropcial breezes and warm waters.:thumbsup2

Hi Everyone! Just posting an update from this part of the US. Boston was actually SUNNY :goodvibes yesterday. It's so nice to know spring is around the corner. I'm just back from a Seattle visit and I've about had it with rain and gray days...although I did have a day of beautiful sunshine there as well.

SO looking forward to cruising. Been on weight watchers since Jan and doing well. I have soooo much to lose but I feel better already. The trip to Seattle was a challenge but I didn't gain so I'm a happy camper :thumbsup2

Just found a car rental for $60 from MCO to port and $45 from port to Downtown Disney. I'm thinking that's pretty good. Anyone do better?
I used an Amex code with Budget. I'm just afraid that the line coming off the ship to the rental agency will take hours like it did in Miami when I came off a cruise ship. Anyone have experience with this? I'll plan to drop
everyone and baggage to the resort and then go to Doubletree to drop the car and get on a downtown disney bus back to BCV. Even if you include cost of gas this is a big savings over Disney transport so I think we'll try it.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

What is a fish exchange?

A fish extender is the name we give a pocketed, decorated extender we hang from a metal fish outside the cabin door. I thas 2 or 3 pockets on it that others from our cruise group will leave small inexpensive or homemade gifts in during the cruise for you to find. Then all of those who gave to you, you will give to in return.
We give everyone who wants to do this a list with the cabin numbers of those participating so they know who to deliver gifts to.

Here is an example of one. You can decorate any way you want to.
This also explains better than I can. It is lots of fun.

If you decide you want to join in the fun, let me know and I will make sure you get put on the list for it.

Morning everyone,

it is nice and quiet here today. We had a nasty storm go through yesterday with 65 MPH winds and driving rain. We got caught on the freeway during it. That was along 100 miles. Even driving slow you barely stayed on the road.

Tree limbs were blowing down the freeway, trees were down so you couldnt get off in the rest area to wait it out. today there are many homes with trees down on them, a few people were or still are trapped in their homes.
So far no deaths that i know of, but a few serious injuries have been reported. Dozens of schools are closed or late start so they can clear the trees that fell out of the parking lots or roadways. Some are without power.

We needed gas but many stations lost their computer systems so they couldnt pump gas even though they had electricity. Finally we found one and filled up. We could have made it home but we would of been running on fumes. When we left town we had no idea this storm was coming or we would of waited until later to come home. The news said 20 to 25 MPH winds with showers. Boy were they off this time.;)

Hope everyone got up on time today after the time change yesterday,
back later,
Kathy

glad you made it home safe and sound.....we had the high winds here saturday....but today and the rest of the week we are starting a warm up...lets keep our fingers crossed and see if it can hang around for awhile.
