Hope you don't mind my sharing some photos!!! We had dinner in Cooperstown, NY (yes the home of the Baseball Hall of Fame!) at the Otesaga Hotel....which has the most gorgeous view!!! We had drinks on the Verandah and then dinner on the patio....just beautiful!!!

Enjoy the weekend!!!

MJ

Thanks for sharing those pictures!! What a beautiful day and a beautiful family!! Congratulations to your daughter!!

Mmouse Congratulations on your DD's College Graduation! What did she take? This fall we will have our First TWO children off to College. It's exicting and anxiety inducing all at once! DS is leaving home for College 20 hours away and will be taking Culinary Management. DD will continue living at home and attend the local College and take the Esthetics Course (if a space opens) otherwise she will take Interior Disign.

Last night was their High School PROM. My goodness, they both looked AMAZING! It was held at the Museum of Civilization on the Quebec side. The museum overlooks the Ottawa River, and on the other side are our Parliament Buildings. Beautiful place!

Can we add our families to this cruise? We are a family of 4 (DH and I, plus DD10 and DD2) cruising for DH's Mom's 60th with his dad, sister and her DS who is 4. We are from Wales in the UK.

Hello! Could you please add us to the roll call? We just paid our deposit this morning!!

We're Pamela and Stephen (we'll both be 27 at cruise time) from Columbia, MD. We have a category 12 GTY, so I don't know where we will be yet - I hope that we get an upgrade! We have the late dinner seating.

:welcome: Aboard Jane and Pamela and families! We are glad you are sailing with us!

Had youngest DD's college graduation last weekend...so proud!!! and....finally done paying college tuition!! Hopefully more money for cruising!!! LOL!!!

MJ

Great photos! Congrats to your daughter!! That's a LOT more money for cruising! Woot!

Gorgeous kids!!! Good luck with both of them going off to college. When our first went it was such an emotional time...my DD and I could not talk on the phone for the first six weeks because when heard each other's voices we both started to cry...had to communicate via email...then it got easier and by the time the youngest went to college...it was a lot easier. Youngest DD graduated with a Bacheolors Degree in Fashion Merchandising. At one time we had the older two in college at the same time (they are only a year apart)...that was a tough few years. Our son could not make this graduation as he is NYPD and had to work...older DD is a kindergarten teacher (Masters Degree in elementary education).

Wish they all could come on the cruise with us...but hopefully they will all still be employed!!!

MJ

Hey all....a quick hello!!! Sorry I am not keeping up with all the posts but my moderating duites tend to take up a lot of time!!! Glad to see so many new people signed up!! See what I miss from month to month!!!

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!!! We have one graduation party to go to on Sunday and then the rest of the weekend is just chillin!!!

What a view!!!

We are still in GTY status as well (Cat 9) but I really don't care where we end up!!!

Got back from an NCL cruise on the Dawn earlier this month from NYC to Bermuda!!! Loved it!! Bermuda was awesome!!! NCL is not DCL but it was still a great vacation.....so hope DCL decides to cruise from NYC to Bermuda or anywhere else....cruising past Lady Liberty is just so awesome!!! I will post some pics when I upload them.

Enjoy the weekend!!!

Congratulations on your daughter's graduation from college. My husband and I have both been tenured university professors in the not too distant past (before relocation and having kids) so we heartily applaud all the effort that goes into getting the degree. It was always very meaningful to watch our students walk across the aisle to get their degree. Shouts behind us would cause everyone to turn around and see the tearful emotions expressed by the parents.

Graduation is one of those special rites of passage in life. Hard to believe that our little ones move so quickly through all those special touchstones: from just learning how to breathe normally (our twins were preemies so the NICU was a special place all about learning the "how do we do that" training from the doctors and nurses), to the times when walking and talking were huge milestones, to the worries about whether our kids are "ready" for kindergarten (what my husband and I went through this year), then before you know it is on to the middle school, high school, college years, and perhaps graduate school or something akin happens next. All in a blink of a sometimes tearful eye.

Time goes by so fast. Our family looks forward to meeting you in October... certainly a click or two of a champagne glass by the adults is in order!

Judy,

Your oldest children are beautiful! Your photo reveals two very happy kids (ok young adults) who are on the cusp of moving into a new phase in their lives. As parents, to see our children happy and healthy is our greatest wish. Lots of good thoughts from my house to yours!

Beth

Good Sunday morning everyone!

Okay - so I'm going to take a stab at this "question of the day thing"..:surfweb:

Which port are you most looking forward to and why?

Castaway Cay! Mostly so I can pop my mom into one of those sand wheelchairs and have her enjoy a beach day as well since it's a docking port. Of course, the 2 for 1 drinks in late afternoon sounds good too!

Thats a tough question to answser! As I've never been to three of the 4, I'm TRULY looking forward to ALL of them, and Castaway Cay just as much too! I'm really looking forward to Captain Marvins tour in Grand Cayman, Walking around in Cozumel, hitting a beach there, and trying a Key lime something in Key West! I've got my DS6 a snorkeling set, to get him to practice not only putting his face in the water, but also using the snorkeling tube to practice being able to still breathe underwater, ALL in an effort to get him ready to have FUN at Captain Marvins! (he doesn't know yet though that this is why I want him to practice, and so far he is too scared to put his face with that mask on, in the water. Hmmmmmmm any suggestions? I've got him enrolled in swimming lessons starting the end of June.

This will be our third Western but have yet to see Key West and Grand Caymen. The first Western (11/19/05) was over Thanksgiving. Historically Thanksgiving Westerns do not go to Key West because of an annual boat race. On that same cruise we missed Grand Cayman because the water was too rough to tender.

Our second Western (08/19/06 Royal Suite) was an alternate double-dip that visited CC twice, Costa Maya, and Cozumel.

Sooo....the long winded answer is we hope to see Grand Caymen this time.

So we have DVC friends that checked into BLT yesterday. They called us this morning via Skype so we could video chat. While taking to them they picked up their laptop to show us the view from their room. They pointed it towards MK where we could see Cinderella's castle. It made us soooooooo wish we were in Disney today. Our vacation can't come soon enough. We're 5 months out and the excitement is just crazy.

Which port are you most looking forward to and why?

I am looking forward to all the ports but if I was to pick one it would be Grand Caymen because I am going to Stingray City again with Capt Marvin. This is such fun I can't wait to do it another time.

On another note (I am sorry if this has been addressed already) anyone willing to guess what will happen to our Key West day if the oil now in the Gulf does travel up the coast as expected? Will we even be able to cruise? Not a real happy thought for me. I hate what is happening and they can't seem to fix it. So many lives in ruined all for a little oil.

We are now at my dad's in Arizona and leaving for home in the morbning. I hope to have a little more time to stay in touch if work and family will allow. Till later, Lois

Wow. Too hard to choose! ;) I guess if I *HAD* to pick it would be Key West. (My sister is there this weekend, the lucky duck!) We haven't been there in about 5 years now. Chocolate covered KLP on a stick, Kinos, the Conch train...ahh....;)

We are really looking forward to GC too. Capt. Marvins is SO much fun, and it will be even better since we'll practically have a boat all to ourselves! Cozumel I'm excited to try something new (leaning towards Nachi Cocom) and Castaway Cay- all the great new stuff like Pelican Plunge and Spring A Leak!!!

Oh I have thought about it a lot. I was listening to a local morning talk show that is also syndicated in the Jax area and someone from Port Canaveral called in expressing their concern for the potential impact of the spill on the cruise industry. From what she was saying the cruise ships simply cannot travel through the oil, as it would cause serious damage to the propellers and other external equipment. If the oil gets in the gulf stream and travels to the east coast it could cause SO many problems. So much more could be at stake than just losing KW as a port- from a cruise perspective. It is terrible.

But for now I'm going to keep my optimist hat on. What else can we do?

We went to the beach today (thankfully still as lovely as ever- for now-) and had a lot of fun discussing our cruise plans. Savannah signed up today and is on the other computer posting to the kids thread! I think we are five months out today, no? Exciting!!:goodvibes

Which port are you most looking forward to and why?

Port of Bonnett Creek Orlando, FL. For those accustom to boats in the lakes will under stand that land-locked of this statement. It is where my family adventure will start for two weeks.

For those following my Pre-TR. I'm starting to question my "hating" status... but that is for a future post there.

My Cousin got MARRIED! I had to share these photos because not only are they awesome, the colors are fabulous AND it makes me think of our cruise. They got married in Punta Canna the other day. They had invited us on the trip, but I couldn't justify the cost, not with two kids off to college in a few more months, and our upcoming cruise. But they had a fabulous time, and are SUCH a Happy Couple! What a dream, getting married, barefoot on a tropical beach!

Judy, those pictures are great!

Makes me wish I had taken my mother up on her offer 14 years ago to ditch the big church & reception hall wedding, give me the money instead and go get married on and island somewhere...Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20.

Any input would be appreciated!:goodvibes

Everyone's photos are awesome!!! :yay: :worship: Congrats to all the graduates and to the Newlyweds! Mmouse, I know exactly the hotel you mean, it is BEAUTIFUL there. The lake is so pretty, Cooperstown is so charming. tjbaggott, sounds like the perfect prom, they are gorgeous! And I love, love, LOVE the wedding pic of the bridal party- so FUN!! :dance3:

As to the favorite port question, I am having a tough time deciding- probably Cozumel, the water is so blue there, I think we'll do either nachi cocum or the other big beach (the name escapes me)- last time we did the royal swim with the dolphins at Chankanaab, and we loved it, but want to try something else this time. DH really wants to relax, and I didn't really let him last time , so I guess I'll be nice and make up for it this trip. But CC...oh, I guess I've changed my mind, that's what I'm really looking forward to- can't WAIT for all those NEW amenities!! :woohoo: OK, I pick Castaway Cay. :thumbsup2

We're going to the Yankees game tonight- pray for no thunderstorms and LOTS of homeruns- Timmy already has his glove ready to go by the front door!!

Don't you have all reservations in your group linked together? That should make them have the same dining time as you . . .
