Bay Lake Tower is the closest, but hard to get in even if you are a DVC member so the Contemporary is the next closest (walking distance) but the Polynesian and Grand Floridian are a short monorail ride way.
Both the Contemporary and Grand Floridian are one stop away on either side of the Magic Kingdom and the Polynesian is past GF as the monorail goes so all are very convenient to MK.
Our favorite resort is the Wilderness Lodge, since there is a boat that goes from WL to MK it is also another good choice.
BTW...from BCV you can take a bus or you can take one of the Friendship boats to the International Gateway at the World Showcase in EPCOT, walk to the front entrance and take a monorail to the Ticket & Transportation Center, then another monorail from the TTC to MK. A bus is easier, but not your only option.![]()
Ok, so we know the kids will ALL be dressing up for Halloween (or most anyway). But how many of us adults will also be dressing up?
We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites, got a good rate on a kids suite through priceline, and for just $20.00 more we can park there and use their shuttle to and from the port.
Anyone else planning on staying here? We've decided, barring any fabulous airline deals, we are driving down from home (a 24 hour drive). I'm just trying to figure out when we should leave. I'd like to check into our Hotel by 4pm, no later on the Friday, So probably leave Wednesday afternoon? (I hate driving at night through the middle states, too many dead deer and a near miss with one and another near miss with two dogs, in the middle of the highway). DH is ALL for the driving!
We did MNSSHP this past Halloween on Halloween night! I will NEVER do that again. That night had it's good points but other than a few good points, it was the worst night of our whole vacation.
It was SO CROWDED, not what I had expected (don't ask why I didn't expect it, it makes sense of after the fact that of couse, it's halloween night, it WILL be crowded, but I wasn't thinking like that at the time). Line ups for trick or treating took a LONG time. We never did make it to all the stations before the park closed, and we missed all the dance parties. Did catch the evening parade and that was awesome, but again, not all of us could see because it was SO crowded! It was also HOT, SO Hot out (the heat I did like because it was so cold back home), but in long sleeved costumes, it wasn't completely enjoyable. The previous days in the parks were fabulous, and the day we left for our cruise was Fabulous (although we were exhausted from the night before).
My DS's birthday is in July too (turning 7 this year). I wonder if there is a way of having him check out the kids thread without him knowing about the cruise? I'll have to think of something.![]()
MY DS 6 is right here reading the post (i'm reading them to him) I told him about your son and how their bdays are the same month, my DS is the 27th of july. He asked if they could talk on the thread but I told him you haven't told your kids yet, He was giggling and said "it's a surprise!" he thinks thats pretty cool.well if you have another way maybe on facebook (not our group page) do you have an account? or maybe they can email thru us as pen pals...DS wouldn't say anything about trip. we can say we meet on the disboards.
We are probably staying here too! How do you use priceline to get that deal? I've never used priceline before.
We're driving too; we always have to Disney the last few years. Tired of airport hassles, especially with 3 small kids. It's about 15 hours for us and they usually do fine.
and quoting you again...my DD's birthday is July too, July 13-when is his
That is a great tid bit of info TJ. Will keep that in mind.
I have used priceline on many occasions and also find it a great site.
I have used it for both bottom of the barrel rooms and 3and 4 star hotels.
Before DVC i used to do Priceline for hotels in Orlando and never paid more than $20 a night.
I have also gotten Disney Property 2 times just using the open bidding.
We have alos used them to get rental cars
I might, not sure. Pretty sure my husband won't though, he's not really into it.
We went to the party last year on Halloween night too but didn't think the party was too crowded. And we never had lines for trick or treating. It was hot though.
and quoting you again...my DD's birthday is July too, July 13-when is his
another July 2003 kid!
Hi. I was looking into trying to get the deal you got through priceline. How do we go about making sure we get a kid's suite? Our room at the Country Inn and Suites, we got through priceline for $49.00 for the kids suite (add taxes and fees and it comes out to $62 or $63).
Would anyone know, if we arrive during the early afternoon on the Friday, where is a good beach close by and is there a fee to use it?
My DS Josh and I started a list of all the kids on the kids thread that will be 6-8 on the cruise, it's on the kids thread.
Man there's A LOT of July birthdays!!! (I'm a July b-day too)

FE Update!
Added 2 more families (see post 1420) with a total 8 more people!!
OK I just updated the list on the kids thread...phew!!!!
Can you please add Megan (14 now, 15 on cruise) and Mallory (11 now, 12 on cruise) from Illinois to your list? We just joined the link a few weeks ago.
I think Brandon and Megan chatted once and am glad as I see they may have a small group.
Thanks for listing the kids - it looks great!
