Hey really quick, I have a crazy ??? what time is second seating??8:00? we've only had this time on our last 3 cruises I just can't remember:confused3

OK I was ust looking at youtube videos of MMNSSHP...... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!
My DH says he thinks I'm more excited then the kids, well maybe but who can blame me:mickeyjum

Royfam,

I think second seating is at 8:15. We usually have 2nd dining too. Thanks for all your help in organizing the kids ages on the kid's thread for this cruise. It looks great!!!!Also, we pick blueberries every summer and the huckleberries look very similar. I am sure that we would enjoy them. Yum, I have blueberries every morning on my cereal. :)

Does anyone recommend a beach at Grand Cayman? I would love to go to the beach at Cozumel, but we are looking to do a Mayan ruin tour instead since my son is adopted from Guatemala and is Mayan. I know that there are a few beach options for Grand Cayman, but not sure which one would be recommended. Also, does anyone recommend one of the different Mayan tours in Cozumel?

Thanks so much in advance.

Vicki

I remember reading somewhere on the boards about beaches in Grand Cayman. They are all free, but if you want to have a chair or beach toys (unless you bring your own stuff), there are vedors there that will rent the stuff to you. Many Beaches too! I hear 7 mile beach is pretty great. Several beaches there are also within walking distance from port (or from where you tender to).
Definately going to also be checking into these more myself too.

Dizzi, so sorry about your DH's job and the cruise. I do hope something comes along for him ASAP. We'l miss you!:sad2:

@Dizzi-- I m sorry to hear that you won't be going on the trip. My wife and I were really looking forward to meeting you. My thoughts and prayers for your family are with you now. Good luck!

So, I am that "type" of husband that is not a huge fan of Halloween. My wife, its her favorite! That being said, I m starting to be convinced that since we are coming in early that may be we should go to the MK for the Mickey's Party night. Originally, we were going to come in town, chill at the pool, got to downtown Disney, Cruise and then spend a couple days at MK before heading back home. I remember how NoJ and Gradnight were in FL and the crowds which leaves me a little less than enthused. What is there to make it different? For those that have been, convince me this is worth wild.

We are planning on going, count us in:thumbsup2

.....I have toooooooooooooooooooo much going on today (dealing with the city of Dallas and home inspections) so I thought I would say hi to everyone today.:)

Just as guess but I feel that tickets for this go on sale in early April?? Can some kind soul here check on this for all of us?? And for those of us who have never been to this, HOW do we purchase tickets?? It is by phone or online or e-mail or ?????:confused3
If by phone, is there an 800# to call??
------------------------------------

On a different note, who is doing what while we are in Cozymel?? Me? I am riding the fence on what 2 do & would love to listen to suggestionspopcorn::.

ok - will update my DCL Oct 2010 trip report this weekend as more is developing on my end.

Looking forward to this trip as the wackiness continues for me........per se, in preperation for my upcoming Adventures by Disney "Backstage Magic" vacation (in approx 60 days), I plan on watching Disney's "Tower of Terror" movie and such.....vowing NOT to hold onto my seat during that ride & to be on the lookout for the Hidden Mickey .....just r-i-g-h-t b 4 you get dropped;).
And approx 1 month later, I will be in TOTAL DCL Halloween mode:cloud9:.

-----------------------------------

Lastly, our DISmeets & PJ breakfast:

Anyone interested in signing up, just read the first posting on this thread & it will direct you where to sign up. Currently, I am looking for what time we would all like to have the DISmeets & PJ breakfast.

P.S. ok this to too funny....as I am typing this sentence ....guess what pops up on my I-pod shuffle??

....none other than Disney's "Grim Grinning Ghosts" :lmao:

Keeping it real down here in Dallas & CYA Sunday.

.........about your initial concerns. I look at it this way, this is an event that provides you with an oportunity to allow your "inner child" to come out & to also get creative in what you will be wearing that night.
It also give you an opportunity to see MK from a different perspective. I feel all in all that you oughta come out & play with us - I feel that you will not be disappointed.

Between that & yes - DCL will allow you to bring any PREPACKAGED candy onto their property, I am looking forward to this.

Trick is, we all gotta buy our tickets first:).

CYA!

Paradise Beach is beautiful and reasonable too. We were there a few cruises back and had a great day. We did the Western in October and had decided since we had been to each port before we were going to explore on our own instead of booking excursions. In Cayman we walked to Margaritaville and they have a pool/waterslide on their roof with a fun pool bar. We ended up spending a few hours there eating, drinking and swimming. They had a super energetic DJ and he was doing all kinds of games and contests mostly for adults but our kids had a great time too. Just a thought!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Two thumbs up for Margaritaville! We went there last time and had a BLAST! The pool is great!!!! Good times! :goodvibes

Sorry guys........

We have cancelled our cruise today.

My DH lost his job last week his company down sized and....... and i have been reluctant to say anything.

I was hoping this would not happen but after thinking it through we have decided to deed back our DVC and therefore will not be cruising in October.:scared1:

Oh Lynn...:sad2: I am so sorry! What a total bummer. I sure hope Mike can find something new quick. Hugs for you guys!

We hate to see you guys go! Especially me since we've been through this together from the beginning (lol). But I totally understand, I just hope Mike gets a new job fast and things stabilize for you guys. :sad1:

I would like to send someone all of the Halloween things i purchased for the DISTOT as i really dont have a use for 24 stuffed pumpkins etc!:confused3

Maybe nenner since she is the closest address as it is alot of stuff.
Nenner let me know.

Sure! Remember we will be in Ft.L this Friday (1/22) and after the cruise Sun (1/31). If you can find a way to drop it off to us or we pick it up or something like that to save you the postage I will be happy to try and meet you...

Or even better- you can maybe leave it at the front desk of our hotel for us and I'll grab it when we check in Friday? We are staying at the Hyatt Place Airport (1851 SE 10th Avenue Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316)

I don't know if that works for you but would prob be the easiest way since I don't know exactly when we'll make it in (xcept that it will be late, Ron doesn't get off till 2 so we probably won't leave here till 3-4 which puts us coming in around 8 or 9 PM Fri. (So it's like a drive by LOL)...LMK if that works for you, otherwise of course I will accept the package. Get with me PM or on FB today or tomorrow and we'll work something out to get it while I'm in town or I'll get you my address.

I would also appreciate it if i could stick around here for a bit if you guys dont mind.

I hope you will hang out!!!!:goodvibes I know it might seem depressing to hear of all of our plans and stuff if you won't be there, but maybe you can be there in spirit and you know we will toast a Konk Kooler to you!

(OK.....go Saints!;)) - it is a seperate ticket and IF my memory serves me right, they went on sale April 09. So I am thinking they are on sale in approx 60 days this year?? Again , just a guess.

LOL I answered you the other day and my post never showed up and I forgot to re post it! But yes you are correct. They go on sale about 6 months in advance! We should hear something coming up in the next month or so since they announce the ticket sales appx. ~1mo prior to on sale date. I listen to a bunch of Disney podcasts so I know I will hear it as soon as the announcement comes, I will be sure to post it here if it hasn't already been posted.

So, to any of us who are intererested in this event, it sure would be kind for all of us to keep us up to date on when they go on sale:).
So far, we have MNSSHP DISsers of:

1) Knewton64
2) Lisa0503
3) Beachbumpirates
4)
5)
6)
7)
8)
9)
10)

You can add us too...our plans are to go 10/28 which is Thursday (as long as I have enough vacation time..LOL ) But we do plan on going. :)

I hear 7 mile beach is pretty great. Several beaches there are also within walking distance from port (or from where you tender to).
Definately going to also be checking into these more myself too.

I've heard great things about 7 mile too! :cutie:

We plan on going to MNSSHP as well but since we'll be at WDW Sunday - Friday before the cruise (but moving Friday to a Port Canaveral motel to take advantage of cruise parking) I'm not sure we'll be attending the same one as everyone else. I'm up in the air as to attend the Tuesday or the Thursday party that week.

We'll be at the Poly for the week before the cruise - I'm thinking of buying WDW Snacks for my FE gifts (like the 95cent bags of mickey head pretzels or the 2 pack coconut heads) but I'm also a little crafty (as is my mom) so we're thinking of making something instead. If my mother keeps adding ideas, everyone will need to pack an extra suitcase just to bring home their FE gifts. It's almost as good as figuring out what to give people for Christmas (which is believe it or not, one of my favourite parts of the holiday - I love finding that great, special gift that people actually use or appreciate).

Anyone planning on doing the wine tasting (assuming it's offered)? I would like to find a buddy since I can't drink red wine and would like someone who could benefit from my allergy (by having my glasses of red wine while I enjoy my white wines).

I plan on trying the wine tasting. I do not LIKE wine :) generally. But a while back, my mother brought a bottle of white wine that I actually truly did enjoy! Unfortunately, neither of us can remember the name of it, nor can she remember even where she got it. Thus, I have become some what of a wine taster, in my quest to find that wine, or one like it! CRAZY?? I have also discovered that I can drink even the most horrid of wines is I add an equal amount of Mango Juice to it! :woohoo:

Hey All!

I went away for a long weekend (went tubing - which was fun but I have determined that I'm too old to be donig that again!) - so I am a bit behind in my updates (darn work has been needing too much attention) - hopfully this weekend I will get all update, add the post number that I think I am up to, and anyone can let me know if I have missed them. . .

I haven't read much - but I did see the question about what time is second seating - when we were on our 10/2008 cruise the second seating was staggered - there was an 8, 8:15 & 8:30 - each restaurant started at a different time - I think the idea was so not everyone was in the picture area at once . . .

It is usually my sanity in the evenings and right now i could use some sanity.
Or i may loose my mind....

I know i am not alone and many people have been in this same boat recently, so i did my 20 minutes of crying like a baby today and i will let it go......so many people have it worse right now than we will.

THanks Guys:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I am so, so sorry!! :sad1: We will all miss you, but it sounds like you are doing the right thing for your family. :grouphug:

Hang in there- I hate this economy!!! :headache:

Ellen

 Dizzi  - Sorry to hear about the reason for your cancellation... hopefully our paths will cross somewhere in the future! Good Luck to you and your family.

Just wanted to drop in and say adios! We are heading out tomorrow for our cruise on RCCL. We are super excited and interested to see if it can live up to our expectations after being on DCL. :)

Hope you all have a wonderful week and I'll talk to you when I get back!:goodvibes

Has anyone ever booked with DU or transferred a reservation to them? If so, how did you find the experience?

I booked this cruise myself onboard and was wondering if I should consider transferring it to DU in order to possibly score an additional OBC. Greedy, right? Yep, that's me.

I wish Jetblue would start posting November flights soon. I can see a good outbound flight for us on October 29th, but I am hesitant to book that until I know what November 6th is going to look like. I found out Southwest will not put up the October schedule until March 23rd and then their schedule will only go up to November 5th!

Have not used DU but have used Small World and they also offer an additional OBC. The agent we use/have used is terrific and seems to either know everything or is able to get an answer almost immediately. They can take over your existing booked onboard res, add their OBC and also the online booking OBC. Check out www.smallworldvacations for more info. And remember it's not greedy when it's OUR money!!! Good luck!

DIZZI... I'm so sorry:hug: ...Your PM box is FULL.

THankyou......I have emptied my box

OK I was ust looking at youtube videos of MMNSSHP...... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

Nenner.....have a great time!!!! yes we have been through alot with all this havent we!!!! HAHA!!!
But yes we are doing what is best for now.......WE can still take a vaca but just not one of this expense i just cant justify it.....We will take a cruise out of Fort Luaderdale on A GENERIC SHIP.....Maybe Carnival or soemthing....WE have seen prices as low as $399 pp for a 7 night to the same ports.

I am currently using them right now. I love them. Tracey is my agent. Normally, I am a complete control freak about vacations. It has been a huge difference to let them (DU), do there thing and it has been a good experience. Mostly, the communication is done over email. You do receive a phone number for $$$ transactions if you don't feel comfortable with online ones. I have yet to have a problem being online. When you email, you get a response FAST. Just today, I needed to make a mortification to my trip, by noon we had exchanged emails several times. When my agent was on vacation, I was still hearing from her. Not as fast, but she was on vacation. I wasn't expecting to hear from her at all till she got back. When you do make a payment, it will say DCL Reservations. NO question is too small or large, and if you need their advice they will give ya a straight answer. Currently, my OBC total $125, if something is better they will get on the phone for you.Hope that helps.
