I think we will save as many points as we can and see what comes up with the new ships.

I think if we really want to do an alaskan cruise a different ship might be better and use our points for something else.

We are looking at a cruise for this coming weekend just leave friday back monday.

We wantd to do soemthing fun for DD before she gets her brace on and there is a cruise we are watching on vacations to go, hopefully it goes down a littel more...right now it is $159 leaves from Miami.

There was one last weekend for $119 hoping it goes down to that.
We were thinking the same thing. The Royal Caribbean ship out of Port Canaveral had some very similar prices.

I do not know about the rest of you, but I am totally excited about Disney in Alaska:goodvibes:goodvibes. Vikki and I were talking about going back next year but now we might go in 2011. With the new repeat cruisers benefits, our friends can book before the 28th, so we might be on the phone with her so both of us can get on. I wonder, will disney still do the fireworks show:confused3

We were too. We were even hoping to do the last Alaska Cruise on Aug 30 and combine it with the cruise back to LA, but there seems to be some down time between. I'm guessing a dry dock. But, I'm torn between that and getting to experience the new ship our of Florida.

Well off to the NY Renaissance fest with other disney fans. We found out it is Pirate weekend pirate:

Les

You passed right near my house on the way to Sterling Forest. I hope you waved Hi :goodvibes

We really enjoy Mama Melrose at Hollywood Studios, Coral Reef, Tappen Edo and others at Epcot, Liberty Tree Tavern at the Magic Kingdom, and Yak n Yeti at Animal Kingdom.

This year we are trying for the 1st time 50's prime time, LeCelliers and Tonys Town Square. I believe we made good choices. Now I just need Ride Max to have everything in place to make our plans. That will not be until 11/1/09. The reality is you don't want to make them too soon as Disney likes to make changes right up to the last miniute. Lois

Mama Melrose and LTT is one of our faves too, although we prefer LTT for lunch rather than the family style character dinner. I find Sci Fi and 50s Prime Time's menus too limiting. You will LOVE Le Cellier - the cheddar soup and the pretzel bread sticks are to die for.

So Lynn are you guys gonna go-next weekend?

We could have pulled something like that off except I have spent about $1K for stuff for the cruise in January the last few weeks or so. (Clearance stuff can really add up!....And I already have one of those huge storage containers full of new clothes, shoes, bathingsuits, etc. for this cruise) Of course all we have left to get are some formal night clothes. The kids have really grown so much since last years cruise, they all needed all new stuff (and so did I) :rolleyes1:lmao:

For 2011 we are focusing on the Dream, probably a 5 day, but we are hoping she'll do 7 days too. I have no information that says she will, just hoping since the Magic and the Wonder will be gone during the Summer months which is when we usually cruise.

Oh gosh I hope so too. I know the Dream will be very expensive but I would really like to spend more then 3 or 4 days aboard!!!

ooh, sounds good!! Le Cellier can be so hard to get during free dining. I thought our meal there was fantastic!!!

Let me know how Ride Max works for you. I have heard good things about it.

I usually use UG/TP and the last plan we used did work out very well for us, even using child swap for all the big rides. My mom is coming with us this time though and she hasn't been to WDW in at least 15 years and Epcot for 25 so I don't think I can get her to go commando...:rotfl2:

Heading off to my ABD trip - cya in about 2 weeks!

P.S.
Gonna 'attempt' to do "Live reports" via my below listed trip report.

Have a great time!! I will be following your updates!

News from D23 if you haven't heard:

Now...THAT is awesome news. I am soooo stoked about it. I feel our MK in WDW has been neglected for far too long. Very exciting!!!

Correct. There is a tentative 14 day drydock scheduled after the August 30th Alaskan cruise so on or about September 6 the Wonder will go into drydock and is scheduled to sail southbound to LA on September 20th.

Never been to Tappne Edo or Yak and Yeti but they are on our list. I had a brush with fame once at Coral Reef. During the FWF some years back, we were having dinner there and Julia Childs came in to eat.:worship: I was thrilled and tried not to stare but I guess I did because I know that she ordered what I had. I was so exited I called my dad back in PA when dinner was over. What a nerd I am::rolleyes: but she really was one of my heroes.

I am excited as well! Now I can't decide to do Alaska or the Med that summer. I want my daughter to see more of Europe, so this is a tough call for us!! My DH and I have been to Alaska, but DD has not!

These are the kind of choices I love to make!:dance3:

I agree, the MK has definitely taken a back seat these past few years. 2 major projects going on now, the Tomorrow land partial make over and now this.

As far as restaurants...hands down for me is Boma. It's always our dinner the first night. We also like the skillet at Whispering Canyon. I am partial to Momma Melrose for restaurants in the parks.

I am still watching the prices, But if anyone is ging now it would just be me.....:confused3 so i dunno.

My DD got invited to a sleep over bday party and wants to do that.

and

They called to day from the Doc and said we would have to pay her whole deductible which is $1000 uughhh so maybe its best she got invited to the bday party,we would have probablly spent that much on a cruise with 4 people and excursion etc

So i am still watching the price if it goes down to $119 i may consider going alone and doing no excursions.

I only have 4 weeks to get ready for the Family Reunion/MNSSHP so i really should use the weekend to get most of our costumes ready.

I also started a project last night and almost finished it today, I had left My Dh Office for last to unpack so mostof it is done and set up. ugggh not a fun way to spend my day off.

It appears that DCL does Trick o' Treating on the ship, but is our group planning on doing additional stateroom ToT or something like that?

Maybe the sea day (Oct 1st) would be a good day?

Mostly just curious if we were doing something above and beyond what DCL might have planned.

WOW- I would have stared, too! Have you seen the movie? I really want to, but ever since it came out last month I have been over- committed. Just a busy, busy time of year. Loved Julia- an amazing and funny icon.:goodvibes

You'll enjoy Yak and Yeti. I should warn you, the first time we went, we were at a table near an a/c vent and were freezing so much that we asked to be moved. I had never been so cold inside a Disney restaurant before.

We booked the three nights before the cruise at the Beach Club!! Now I'm really getting excited!! :cool1:

I think we're going to stay at BCV for 2 nights before, too! :goodvibes So funny you both are. On my last cruise there were a bunch of us staying at AKV before our Western. Hope we'll run into each other at the pool!:beach: Although, last time I said that on a cruise meet thread, i met DISers in the hallway instead.:)

$1,000?!?! OUCH! :sad2:

I think that would be a whole lot of fun! A Dis-or-Treat! :thumbsup2

That's where we want to stay too...... :goodvibes

I would think it would have to be reverse trick or treating, using the fish extenders, because who is in their room long enough to be there to give out treats?
