We told me son about the trip to WdW. What was his reaction? "What is it?" Which was the exact reason why we told him. If we didn't tell him I was afraid that he would associate a cruise as WdW and a cruise together. For the future, this would sorta be bad. After we told him, we thought we should show him what the Disney was from the Dvd they send ya. That was a mistake. He was bored because mostly he still didn't "get it". Although, he knows who Mickey and Co. is, he has always been into Sponge Bob more. OH well, 100 more to go and then we will see.

I just heard on the news that BP has got the cap on that pipe now and for the first time since the blow out, the OIL HAS STOPPED gushing into the ocean!!! YAHHHHHHHHH. Now they all concentrate on cleaning up all the oil that did!

We like the inside aft deck 5-7. It is quite and you can use the aft stairs to get the the pool deck and the buffet.

Is anyone a certified diver? I am planning to go when we are in GC. and possibly Cozumel. If you are certified in Nitrox, Red Sail Sports will have tanks for you. I have the e-mail address. You just let them know what ship and date.

I noticed you mentioned over on the board where the links to that youtube trip report is, that you were wanting to figure out how to do that 20th Century Fox intro. I searched several "How To's" and found this one was the best. If you have any questions about it just ask. I also have the music file for the sound, and can email that to you if you'd like. Once you have the Intro Rendered, you put both that and the music file into Windows Movie Maker or Movie Maker Live, and presto, you have your intro!

I think I missed where I was suppose to send Lynn some money to cover the costs of everything she had purchased. Will you let me know how I can still do this? It was so kind of her to send the goodies on to you even though she can't join us.

You could send her a PM. I don't know if she wants to accept donations. It was certainly very generous of her though!!

I don't know if it will help or not, but my TA put in a request to be Mid ship. Apparently the midship CAT 6 rooms have the clear plexiglass. It was worth the try for me, so I guess we'll see how it turns out. You could always try that request too.

I tried this, but I was told it couldn't be done. The CM was on the phone with me for a while, looking through her computer and said she could find no appropriate section on her screen to put that request in. Bed rails requests go to housekeeping, dining requests to dining, etc., but there was no way to make a request that would get to the attention of stateroom inventory control. And even if she managed to find one, she didn't know how much it would help since GTY's cannot make stateroom requests anyway.

I'm not sure how accurate she was.....I've certainly gotten mis-information before when contacting customer service.

Oh well. I guess I will just have to hope for the best.

This is actually a good argument for using a TA. For years I didn't use one, but one year I was, in no uncertain terms, shown how effective a good TA can be. DCL will not actively monitor your account, nor do they have the technology to alert you once a more preferable stateroom becomes available. A good TA who has your interest in mind will look to see if that stateroom you would like becomes available.

That being said, I recommend calling back on a regular basis, especially as we get closer to final payment dates.

Yes, on the east coast you should be able to book after midnight which is a lot better than it used to be. It used to be midnight on the west coast, 3:00 AM on the east coast, but DCL was nice enough to change that a little while back.

It's harder for those folks "across the pond" since it was 8:00 AM, now it's 5:00 AM, but for those on the west coast it is 9:00 PM tonight.

We are closing in on our August 1 Lanyard deadline.

If you think you might want to participate and purchase personalized custom lanyards for your family members/friends on the cruise and have not already notified me, please do so! Also if you have a preference on the type of lanyards we will purchase, do let me know. (I haven't heard from everyone yet) I'll repost the options at the bottom of the post.


8/1/10 is the "official" close out date for participants though I may be able to accept late entries as late as 9/1/10. I will tally the votes for the design preferences after 8/1 and then will get the official price quote and we will start our payment period. I will PM everyone with their total cost and they will have until 9/1/10 to get payment to me (I will accept money orders, checks if received by 8/15, and PayPal (I am a verified premier member).On 9/1/10 I will place the order.

I will officially hand out lanyards at a table at our DisMeet in the Promenade, but I will be happy to pass them out to you if I happen to encounter you prior to that (Port, CIS, Fishlips, etc.). If I don't meet up with you by the DisMeet, I will deliver your lanyards to your stateroom the first evening of the cruise.

As always if you have any questions about this procedure or also any ideas or preferences or anything regarding these lanyards, don't hesitate to let me know!!!

Long day today, we spent it out at my DH's cousin's Horse Stables. Beautiful piece of property, the kids all had fun learning how to groom a horse, saddle up a horse and then some riding lessons. The younger kids got pony rides. It was HOT HOT HOT out too, I'm wiped, but have a dinner to go to, and OH, I was supposed to be there an a few minutes ago. Better get going............ LIFE, Gotta Love It!

93 days!! Nice! We have 103 since we don't fly down until the Thursday before.
