Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

Sorry to hear about the cancellation, but the job sounds cool. One day we hope to visit Italy. Did you lose 50% of the cruise fare or did you figure a way around it?

Jeff

Hey Jeff...nope, no way around it....we only get 50% refunded.....timing is everything....if we knew a few weeks sooner we would have only lost the deposit.

Glad I didn't book any airfare for her yet!!! Her job will be interesting at least....she got hired as a production assistant (have no idea what they do) on a Lifetime movie about Amanda Knox....her very close friend is Hayden Panettiere (who has done a lot of movies for Disney as well as other movies and things on TV) and Hayden is playing Amanda Knox (U.S. student convicted of murdering her British roommate). DD gets some very cool opportunities but is also very hard worker and very serious about any job she gets. She is currently in London for the premiere of Alpha and Omega, animated movie in which Hayden is the voice of Alpha the wolf.

MJ

Well....DD and my nephew had to cancel the cruise......:sad1:

DD got a job which is a good thing but the job is in Italy for 6-8 weeks in Rome so she won't be able to come afterall.....it was not meant to be!!! My nephew will be away on business in Asia and Europe during that time as well....bummer.

DD is in London now, then heads to Germany, then heads to Italy for work...tough life!!!

MJ

So sorry your DD won't be able to join us - but from her point of view, what a wonderful opportunity for her. At least it is a positive reason to miss the cruise. But I am sure you will miss her terribly :sad1:

Do you have plans to visit her? Seems to me a perfect opportunity for another trip :)

Okay everyone, check out our cool shirts/dresses we are wearing on Halloween and to MNSSHP:

Blimey, they are amazing! I am super impressed - I would not have the first clue :sad2:. We will be the family in the non-matching, boring outfits I am afraid :guilty:

MJ, sorry to hear about the cancellation, but glad to hear you'll still be cruising with us! Sounds like a very cool job your DD has!

On another note, MY DH IS SO SWEET. Hidden underneath that serious exterior, lies a sweet guy, who knows how to surprise! He doesn't do it very often, so when he does, It REALLY is a surprise. He NEVER buys me clothes (unless it's for Christmas and I've specifically pointed out WHAT I would like". Today he came home with some Beautiful Minnie PJ's for me!! It's exactly something I would have bought myself, if I were shopping for myself. They went straight into my suitcase! :lovestruc

What a lovely surprise for you. And perfect for the cruise too! I am trying to make my DH feel guilty by relating your story, but he is transfixed with the buildup to the Chargers / Raiders game :sad1:

I want to visit for sure....but with this cruise and our 2 weeks away in January for the MV of the Dream I have no vacation time left....maybe a long weekend....hmmmm.....

Our other DD was also supposed to come and she did buy her airfare but she was called to back to work and can't go now either....I had not booked her cruise fare yet as I was waiting to see what happened with her work (she's a teacher). At least she can use the airfare for something else at another time.

Jen, they really came out great! How did you elasticize yours? I don't know why I had so much bleeding on mine...

Here are ours. They came out *okay* but I like the iron on ones better ;) None of these have been touched up with a bleach pen.

Mine for Halloween - I'm going to iron on a jack-o-lantern face for each of us.

What a cool job your DD has, I was just reading about them making that movie last week.

It is totally do-able in a long weekend! We once flew to San Antonio TX for a 3 day trip as it was the only place we could get tickets to see Alison Krauss and Union Station, 15 hour trip from our home, via Chicago. I think if you know it is a short stop and make the most of the flight for sleeping etc, it is not too bad at all. I guess it depends on whether it is a once in a lifetime trip, in which case you would need much longer - if only so you have time for our afternoon tea at Celtic Manor :)

Well, Ellen isn't showing up until later and I haven't heard from Angela (SweetDolly) yet so for now it's just you and me kid! ;) Are you going to do the Dwarves? I am pretty sure we'll spend some time in that line. But I can stop by and find you at CHH too. I guarantee we will be easy to spot, check out my shirts at the bottom of this post! LOL!

I'm so jealous of the tye dye! They're gorgeous! I'm still trying ot decide what I'm going to do. I want some sort of costume I can use on land and sea.

Hi there everyone! I have 2 "very" important questions today::goodvibes

#1 is for my DH. Can he bring his DCL beer mug back on the ship for the "cheap" refills????:rotfl2:

#2 is for me.... What is the best/cheapest way to get to Downtown Disney from the Hyatt at MCO? We are thinking about having dinner at the House of Blues.

TIA!!!!:hippie:

1.-Yes- My friend just returned from the Med. Repo cruise and brought it with him. Yeah for discounted beverages!
:cool1::cool1::cool1:

2.-I would rent a car... this is the cheapest. A taxi would be just as much if not more.

Wow, I'm glad you asked! I had no idea that DH could bring his mug back for refills.

What time are you arriving on the 29th? We will be flying in late. I have the Car Service picking us up at 10:30 am on the 30th from the Hyatt. I can't believe it, only 19 more days!!!

We are in MCO about 11:30am... our flight in is really early!:goodvibes So, we thought... cool, we'd head over to DTD. :thumbsup2 We will see what the group wants to do! (I am happy to hang at the pool!)!

Sarah has lost both her front teeth is the last 4 days. The Tooth Fairy is going to go broke, and we thought the cruise was expensive. :rotfl2: Can't wait to see all the great photos at Shutters with her big smile.

I'm sorry! It's been a crazy week and I haven't been checking in very often - I must've missed your post. Where are y'all meeting up at MNSSHP on the 28th? We have a 4:30 appointment at Harmony Barber Shop for DS's first haircut, and then have a 5:00 ressie at The Plaza for dinner. We'll be staying until close, as this is our only visit to MK before heading to the port.

Good for her! My son is trying to yank his out. Today, he came up to me with hard candy in his mouth. I asked him what gives, and his reply was simple, "trying to lose the teeth, dad."

I told him AFTER the cruise the fairy would be much happier about it.

Ah, that gap-toothed smile is just priceless! Can't wait to see it!

Oh, that stinks that she can't join us but it sounds like such a wonderful opportunity!!!

I think I will send it on Friday, 10/22 via UPS. do you think that's enough time?

Be sure to send it air, not ground...then it should be fine. :thumbsup2

I have added bows to the girls' dresses and it was almost disaster when I was heat sealing the ends. Let's just say it's a good thing there is some black on those outfits, 'cause now there's some black on the bows!!!

Jennifer I think your shirts are awesome and I can't wait to see them with the jack-o lantern faces!!! :thumbsup2

When I cinched my heads I tied them off super tightly with about 3-4 rubber bands and they almost made a collar, like a narrow rib that was about an inch wide. I also used a whole lot of plastic to try to keep the bleeding in check- I cut a little slit in the middle of a sandwich bag and slid the MH through and kept it like a skirt between the MH and the rest of the cloth, then after dyeing the MH I wrapped another sandwich bag around the top and then sealed all of it with the Glad Wrap N Seal stuff with even more rubber bands at the bottom (over the plastic).

I don't know the answer to #2, sorry..... but definitely bring the mug! Thanks for reminding me, I need to pack my souvenir drink of the day glasses!!!

That's OK...we haven't finalized anything yet, just tossing around ideas! :goodvibes I thought the one thing I could count on was being in the dwarves line but Ron is grumbling at that so now I'm not sure. ;) We will eat prior to the party so we don't have ADR's or anything like that. I promised no commando but I probably should try to at least make a semblance of a game plan, as it will be a very busy night. About all I know now is we will arrive at 4, we will see one of the parades, we will see Hallowishes and we will Trick or Treat....:rotfl2:

I did not get any real packing done this weekend but I did get everything organized and an inventory of the new clothing done so I can get started on laundry. I got the job I've been dreading mostly complete, and that is the organization and candy distribution for the ToT. I still have a little bit more to do there, but the worst of it is out of the way.

Hopefully I can accomplish a lot this week, as next weekend is a total wash with dance and football taking up the entire day Saturday and a cheer competition for Sav taking the whole day on Sunday. Of course I work Fri night/Sat morning too! :faint:
