Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

When we tendered in it took from about 20 minutes to 1/2 hour. You meet at the Theater and get a ticket and you are directed to sit in a row with others- when there are enough people there to fill the boat, they then take you down. It takes some time to get down the stairs and on the boat. The actual boat ride is between 5 and 10 minutes. It does take a small amoutn of time (5 min)to go through the security/port area once landing- it is very large.

I don't think you will have a problem but you will need to be on one of the first tenders! I believe we arrive at 7:30 or 7:45 so it should be enough time! :goodvibes

Thank you very much. We will definitely be in the theater early enough to get one of the first tenders. We tendered in Tortola but we weren't in a hurry to get off the ship. I didn't know that if people with early excursions got to line up early or not.

Hi all,
I am on this sailing too. Forgive me for not signing up with the Dis meets groups, etc. but we have a group of 19 extended family members so it will be a bit hectic just trying to meet up with all of them.

I just wanted to let you all know the Hyatt is now available through Hotwire for our Friday night. :cool1: I have been checking almost daily all summer.

The only way to make it show is to enter 2 adults, 2 kids. Look for the 4* in the MCO area that has a TripAdvisor rating of 4.5 out of 5. This last part is important or you might end up with the Renaissance.
We got 6 rooms for $74 each + tax.

hth!

Good luck and happy sailing!!! :goodvibes :wave2:

I know this is welcomed news for some. I hope that you will try to introduce yourself to some of us as we cross paths on board. However we do understand with trying to keep 19 members of your group together that may just not happen.

The most I have ever cruised with was 2 other adults and 3 kids and that was hard I cannot even begin to think how difficult it will be with 19 to keep up with.

A very special thank you to our volunteers and donators- this event could not be a success without you! Thanks so much! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for all of your hard work with this - I am so impressed as to the organisation of it, it will be an awesome ToT. My kids are super excited (and me too :))!

Has anyone done the Stingray City Waverunner excursion through Island Marketing? I have not been to Grand Cayman before and I see that we tender. We have a meet time of 8:20 leave at 8:30 supposedly less than a 5 min walk from any of the terminals. How much time should I add for the tender? Or should we reschedule?

Getting antsy.

Thanks,

Linda

DCL usually lets all DCL excursions get off the ship first on the tenders (at least this has been in the past)....get to the tender meeting place early so you can possibly snag a spot on an early one...but realize you may have to wait for DCL excursions first.

I did sign up for meets for our 1st 2 DCs when we had only 6 but this cruise was originally 25.. Last year we cruised with 17. I had visions of relaxing on a deck chair and catching up with friends we don't get to see often. We ended up doing so much, all going in different directions. :guilty:
This time I know better.

I think all your Halloween festivities are so cool. Sounds awesome!
Have a great time.:goodvibes

Have a nice birthday with my family. I got the new Beauty and the Beast movie on Blu-ray!! The movie is very timely since we will all be eating at Lumiere's in 3 weeks. :cool1:

Just got an email from my TA confirming what we already know...

On Monday, October 18 at Noon, EDT, our agents will take part in an exclusive webinar, hosted by Disney Cruise Line®, where we'll get a sneak peek of what's going on at the shipyard in Germany, explore what's new at Castaway Cay, and learn of itinerary plans for the Disney Fantasy.™

We are hoping for some kind of Hawaii repo in 2012.

Jeff

I just want to second and third so many other comments out there. This will be our first cruise and of course planner me googled disney cruise and found this board. This is an amazing place with an amazing group of people.

Lumiere's is my favorite of the rotational restaurants!!

We know we are cruising in 2012 (to celebrate my 50th!) but I'm trying to keep an open mind until I see what the options are . . . I"m thinking if I'm on a Disney Ship, I can't go wrong!!

For those staying at CI&S, who is driving and parking for the duration of the cruise? Months ago, when I mentioned it to DH, he wanted to park at the port. Today I talked with him about it again, and specifically threw in the costs. He now agrees we should park at the Hotel. I think this is great, but then afterwards, I realized that this means something different when we Disembark (hadn't thought of it before, because I never really wanted to even start THINKING about disembarking when we haven't even Embarked yet). I'll be waiting with the kids and luggage while DH takes the shuttle back to the hotel to pick up the van and then come back and fetch us. This means I'll be looking like all thos sad looking people we saw last fall, waiting with their luggage at the curb in front of the construction fence that surrounded the terminal. At first I thought they were all waiting to enter the terminal and couldn't understand why they were all just sitting there instead of finding a porter, and couldn't understand why they all looked so sad! Once a porter found us, I then understood, they weren't waiting to board, they had just Disembarked!!
Anyway, is anyone else going to be waiting with me?:)

Judy when we stayed at the Radisson in the past and left our car at the hotel we all rode the shuttle back & they dropped us & all our luggage off right in front of our car. Does CIS do it differently?

I'm not sure. I know we have to pay for the shuttle per person, so for that reason, figured we'd only send one. Unless the parking fee at CI&S includes the shuttle for all members of our travel party?

Judy,
I just called. I think I remember you did Priceline for your room so there is a charge of 22.20 (that includes tax) and it is a round trip shuttle for your whole family, so you don't need to be standing on the curb with a sad face. :goodvibes

Sheri, You are Awesome!! Thanks for checking into that for me! I think we'll do it that way after the cruise, unless their shuttle will get us there early enough in the morning to enable us to be in with the first crowd into the terminal, if not the 1st in line. :thumbsup2

DD refuses to let me use her flat iron (it's a professional one) for the cruise, but she still has her Licence card for the Professional hairdressing shop where I she can purchase them for around 75% off the store cost. So we are off to go get that now. Tried updating my Garmin Nuvi Maps, and I learned something else! You only get one free update and that was done when it was first purchased. Any others, you have to pay for. So DH has taken it to Future shop where we purchased it, to have them explain how to do the update (it came with no cable other than the charger one, so says DH, even though I asked him how on earth he udated it the first time??????) I think he's lost the computer cable it likely came with. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for this info! You just saved me 100.00 as we had a room reserved for 170.00 and booked the same room through hotwire for 74.00. Yay!! More Konk Koolers for us!! If we manage to meet up, we'll buy you one too. :thumbsup2

Thanks for calling.:thumbsup2 We are parking at CIS and using the shuttle, too. I'd heard so many different stories from people paying nothing to do this all the way to paying $20 to park AND $4 per person for the shuttle.

She told me that the shuttle is included if you booked a "regular" rate room, but if you did a discount ie: priceline it is 20+tax for your entire party. I even specifically asked if it was rountrip (yes) and per person (no~she actually chuckled), it is for your entire party.

This is the first time we are not staying at the Port, because I procrastinated and didn't book a room & then the air show folks swooped into town.

Thanks MJ for the info.:thumbsup2 That is what I thought. I went ahead and rescheduled for later in the morning. This way we can enjoy a leisurely breakfast and let those who need to get off, get off and mainly I won't be stressing about it.
