Oct 3 - Dec 30 FD & Code Watch (Only)

I called this afternoon when I found out about FD We originally had a suite at ASMu and a preferred room for my son and his family. When I called the CM told me there were no suites available with FD so I changed to 3 preferred rooms with 2 adults in each room and she quoted me $1561.30. I paid the deposit and celebrated. I just read this thread and decided to try booking online myself to see what the prices would be. Not only did I find the family suite with FD it was a little over $300 cheaper then the 2 rooms and my sons room was $155 cheaper then when I called. We also paid for the upgrade to the dining plus plan!

Woohoo!! We arrive on Oct 7th...whewwww!! Just made the cut for FD....I was so excited to read the small print that included our arrival date. I called this afternoon and spoke with CM Lourdes who told me that my dates were blacked out.....I quickly read to her the arrival dates and she said let me see what happens when I put it through....I was a bit confused why she didn't have the valid offer dates in front of her and why I had to tell her. But anyway...it went thru and I got FD...I'm so excited!! :yay:

Sorry to those of you that are arriving during black out dates.

Of course my dates of travel would be blacked out.

Boo. =(

TinkerbelleAbbys Mom, I did some searching and found this on a sticky (at the bottom of the first page on the link below):

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684&highlight=getting+park+tickets+before+check+in

"I. Picking up Package Tickets Prior To Start Of Package

In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up.

It is only valid for people staying at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort.

There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.

And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort."

While you would probably have to add another day onto your ticket to use for an extra day, it would only be a couple of dollars vs. $80 for a one-day ticket.

Figures.:headache: Consider my bubble busted. We are going Nov. 6-12 for our one time dream trip. First time for us all and our dates are blacked out. I'm not going to change it because we've already bought plane tickets and made all our adr's and stuff but I could cry!! I feel like $1000 just got flushed down the toilet because of a blackout date. I'm also scared now too that the dates I so carefully selected because of less crowds will be packed with people for some unknown reason. Anyone know what's going on the second week in November or why that particular week would be blacked out???

Woot! Got FD and didn't have to change a thing!!! So excited!

stacyalisa - I'm so sorry you coudn't get the FD for your one time dream trip. Maybe something else will come along. Or they may even open it up to some of those blacked out dates. WOW They've blacked out a lot of dates from Oct - Dec. There can't be something going on in all of those weeks. I'm thinking it's got to be for some kind of marketing strategy

For those who have BTDT, I have a question regarding which promo would be better.

I have booked 10/25 - 10/30 at WL, Woods View (all they had available for the pin I had) with the dining plan, with the 40% monster pin. It will be 2 adults, 1 eating child, and 1 two year old. Would I benefit from the free dining plan?

TIA

Our dates are blocked out too (10/10 to 10/18). :( Unfortunately, we can't change them either, we already did once. Big bummer!

Was it crazy busy? Im so bummed that I'm not getting FD! I was really hoping for it :sad2:! Maybe I'll get a random pin for FD! I really hope so! It'll save $250 more than the 20/30/40 pin! We shall see! Congrats to all that are able to use it!!!!!

We didn't notice much of any crowds... 20 minutes tops to wait for rides (keep in mind we didn't do any "BIG" rides as we were with DD2). I really liked going that week, went the same week in 2006.

I haven't looked at the exact prices, but the dining plan would cost you apx $96 a night. your 2 yr old is free as long as she eats from your plates. I'm pretty sure with the per night cost at WL, your better off with the room discount, but just double check what the full rate would be, and if your saving more than $100 a night your good with what you've got.

PS - just checked and the Disney site shows your room at a rate of $325 per night. Your saving $130 per night with the 40% off.. so keep what you have, it's the better deal. Depending on where you booked through your room might be slightly cheaper (I use CAA and even with the free dining promo they can still give a better price) But I don't think anyone would have been able to lower it enough for FD to be a better deal

Momto8 - thank you!! I thought I had read this on the boards but haven't asked my TA about it yet. I was going to try to search the boards! Thank you soo much!!

EVERYONE ELSE - Don't give up if something was awry when you called in. My TA said she was basically on hold or hanging up and calling back with Disney from 8 am to 2 pm this afternoon. She said she found out Disney was having computer issues. So it may be worth your while to check back if you were denied, unless of course you know you are in the blackout dates. She said this was really a surprise. She even commented that she searched DISboards and it wasn't anywhere to be found yesterday! So all that said, Maybe they have something else up their sleeves to help those of you out who are blacked out now!! GOOD LUCK!! :wizard:

Am I the only one who got the pin code for FD attached to my name?? I am going during a black out period and the CM I spoke to today (confirmed by my TA at AAA later in the day) said I have pin code attached to my name for free dining during the black out period (mid October), but it is not "active" until July 13th. So TA will call on the 13th and get the pin applied.

There is hope for those going during a blackout!

I am going that week too and like you picked it because of previous years low crowds and also because there is a lot of special events that week

F & W last week ends 11/14
MVMCP 11/8 11/11 11/12
OL start 11/8
PGA Tourny for CMNC 11/11-11/14
Festival of Masters DTD 11/12-11/14

Going POP 12/7 - 15 ... Priced out a split stay with FD. It would cost me $262 more :scared1: Looks like I will just keep my orginal plan :thumbsup2

I was curious to find out the details of that pin - I also got it but was told by the cast member that she couldn't tell me much other than that it was free dining, at a value, during our stay (10/27-11/1) - but I couldn't get mor einfo or pricing until the 13th...

I was told I had that pin code too, but after seeing free dining was announced, I decided I should call again to see if I could use it earlier. After waiting on hold for 40 minutes, the CM told me there was nothing attached to my name or to my household. He also said that there is no way to tell of pins for the future and that I could call back at a later date to check. I asked him why I would have been told there was a code last week and he said that they never know ahead of time and he doesn't know how someone could have gotten that information. I'm so upset I can't sleep tonight...

well there was good news and bad news for me today! we wanted to go nov 9th thru the 14th....but free dining was blacked out thru the 11th. so i booked for the 12th thru 18th...YAY thats the good!!! our first disney trip as a family and we got free dining!!

the bad was we wanted to be there the 10th for my nephews bday and now we wont be there that day. but oh well...hes only turning 3 so he wont know any better!

I was also told last week that I have a pin, good for fd, that I can't use until July 13th. I was told that it's the QS for values and regular DP for mods/deluxes. That's all I've got. I'm just hoping when I call on the 13th, it's still there and it works for my dates (Dec. 7-12--blocked out for public offer that went out today:() like the CM told me it would!!
