Does anyone know how much it costs to upgrade the free basic DP to DxDP? If FD is released we might just downgrade and pay for the extra restaurants oop, but we really won't need the 5 QS meals...

I am really hoping free dining is extended through December. Right now I'm booked at WL with a 40% off code, but if free dining is extended, I would switch back to POR, which is where I was originally booked, in a second!

When people say they offer discounts to Disney Visa holders first, how does that work exactly? Do they send you an email or something, or do you just have to keep checking the Disney Visa website and look for the offer there? I have a Disney Visa but I've never seen any discounts from it.

You'll probably hear about the Disney Visa discounts here first. There have been some in the past that I never heard about.

You COULD get something in the mail, or you could get an email announcing it, but I have found these to be hit or miss, and typically very late in coming.

I just got a PIN to 2 of my emails yesterday for my choice of free dining or room discount. But when I read through them it's for travel between Aug 15 - Oct 2. I don't know why they do that? Why would I need a PIN for something that has been a public offer for weeks now. I was all excited thinking it was for Oct/Nov/Dec

Somebody else on this thread had that happen too. That must be so aggravating. I mean we all wait for these pin emails and then to find out its just what is already offered to the general public would drive me bonkers. And I am already bonkers with waiting so I dont' need more things to drive me higher up on that scale!

Hang in there, maybe they'll extend the fd or 40% for the rest of the year. I hope so, I have given up on a pin code.

For stays most nights 8/27/09-9/21/09, 9/29/09-10/1/09 and 11/29/09-12/17/09 in a standard room. Also for 10/2/09-11/24/09

I did have to buy a one day park ticket and had to stay a minimum of 4 nights

I used this last year and stayed at ASMu and got free regular dining, not quick service.

Hope something that great comes again!!!!

That's what I thought the one I got might be. I made sure to read through very carefully. We're already booked to go in Sept with free QS and upgraded to regular Dining. I would have been excited if the difference was it would allow me to have regular dining at a Value Resort, then I would have used it for that trip. But to my dissapointment, there was absolutely nothing different about it then what has already been available since the beginning of May to everyone anyway Would love to also sneek in a Dec trip if i could get the free dining again.

I have taken advantage of the offers that are given to DV holders, but I rarely receive any notification of them. I always get my info from the Dis Boards. If an offer comes out I'm sure you will see it on this thread and several others. I'm waiting for December FD too!!!!

I've never seen any discounts from my Disney Visa either.

We have disney visa and my husband will get emails from them re: the discounts. Example, he got the FD discount this year via email 3 days prior to it being released to the general public.

Ah, I wondered how the discounts came. So they email them to you when a discount is available, is there any notice given or the email comes and you book that day? Thanks!

I know! I received it in the mail 2 weeks ago. I was so excited and then when I read it was already for the discount out I went

I received the same Free Dining PIN on June 15th of last year. Mine was vaild 08/23/09 - 12/17/09 & it also upgraded us to reg DDP (from QSDP) for free. Fingers crossed for getting it again this year!
