Just a little info I found for any without passports at this time

Effective June 1, 2009, the following rules take effect for cruise passengers:

U.S. citizens on cruise voyages that begin and end at the same U.S. port (closed-loop itineraries) must show proof of citizenship* and government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license). A passport will not be required for passengers that fall into this category.

*Documents include: Original or certified copy of birth certificate; Naturalization papers; Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by Department of State

All other passengers and/or itineraries (such as cruises which begin in one U.S. port and return to a different U.S. port or any cruise that begins or ends in a foreign port) will require a passport or other recognized document. For a list of accepted documents, see http://www.travel.state.gov.

The good news for a majority of cruise passengers – American citizens that leave and return on their cruise from the same U.S. port – is that the travel document requirements will remain largely unchanged from how the industry is operating today.

Just dropping by to say hi :wave2:

I've been doing a lot of scrapbooking in the evenings so not spending as much time on the computer - though I'm catching up on my DVR backlog :happytv: I'm working on an album from a trip with my sis in niece Oct 2007. I'm a little behind...

Hope everyone is doing well and has a great weekend :thumbsup2

I am reading this to mean that if we don't have a passport yet then we don't need to get one for this cruise?

I think the important thing is the bit about having to leave out of and arriving into the same US port. I think because of this it is very risky to go without the passport. We are travelling still in the height of hurricane season and it could conceivably happen that we might have to divert to another port either leaving or coming back. It has happened that the ship had to leave from Port of the Everglades, but arrived back to Port Caneveral or vice versa. I can imagine that this would make clearing customs on arrival interesting if you do not have a passport.

A passport is also needed to fly home from the ports if an emergency happens.

Good Morning all,

At first I was excited when I heard the passport news but the more I think about it the more I think we will get our passports anyway. It would be a nightmare to be stuck in a port with a family or medical emergency and not be able to get home. Plus I'm sure I'm going to love this cruise so much that I'm going to want to go again so eventually we will need the passports again.:goodvibes

I wish you could have all seen my house yesterday. I had 99 cases (not boxes... cases...12 boxes/case) of girls scout cookies in my dining room. I had to sort them into 9 seperate girls orders and hope that the parents showed up yesterday to pick them up. All but one parent made the pickup so I can now walk through the room again. Now all we have to do is get Amayas orders delivered and my house will be back to normal. If anyone wants any cookies let me know, they freeze well and then I can deliver to you in October.

Have a good Sunday...talk to you all later.

Terri

Well I dont know about one site but most of the ports have at least one webcam, Port canaveral is blessed with three, type into your search engine
'Port Canaveral webcam', you should be able to access the webcam run by the port authority which doesn't always point in the right direction, then try a search Radisson Canaveral webcam, The radisson has a webcam you can control then try www.Cocoabeachnow.com, my personal favorite as you can get good close ups of the ships putting to sea or arriving back and control the camera. This camera is sufficiently good that the occasional dolphin fin can be seen

Key west has a load, just try Key West webcams and have a play, some are really close to where the ship moors.

Cozumel try www.cozumelinsider.com/webcam
Grand Cayman www.caymanport.com/webcams

I am going to go and find the link for the Nassau webcam now, its mostly the Wonder goes to this port I think.

Nothing at Castaway Cay.

Beware, this is totally addictive and I take no responsibbility for your state of mind if you do this on a cold wet day in February. Wonder should be at Nassau today, I imagine the Magic at Castaway quay but she will be in port tomorrow.

Today the sun is almost out and I am in a place called Knutsford in Cheshire, I am not sure whether you would call it a small town or a large village. Its downside is its right on the flight path for Manchester Airport so I can see the aircraft as they head off to warm destinations.

Thanks so much You the best!

Hello Fellow Cruisers,
Yes, I have finally decided to keep this as our cruise date. My family, at least most of them, wil be on this cruise (me-43 (Pam),DH-44(Nick),DD-17(Haley),DD-10(Allie),DS-8(Davis),Mother. This was suppose to be my fathers birthday cruise, but sadly he passed away on Jan. 20th. I have debated whether to change dates or not? But we have planned this cruise with five other families and he would not want us to change. He began taking my sister and me to Disney when we were very small. Let's just say I remember staying in Disney when it was only the Contemporary and the Poly. and you had tickets to get on the rides A thru F (if my memory serves me correctly). Of course Space Mountain was an F. He had a friend who was an orginal architect and he gave us his golden key passes. Those were the good days. Until I got married we spent every Christmas in Disney, so he would not want it any other way but for us to go. He loved DCL and he will be there in spirit. So much for my story...we are glad to be sailing with you guys. We want to be part of the FE, I enjoy that so much. I own an embroidery store, and love the creative part. Hope eveyone is well, I see from previous posts there has been a bug....It is snowing here and boy am I counting the days, until the sunshine.

Look forward to meeting each of you.

Pam

Welcome Pam and family. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad but it's great you guys are still going. It sounds like he would have wanted you to. I too remember Disneyland back when they had the A - F tickets...how things have changed. My DH and I will be sailing with our DD - 9, MIL (who grew up in Winchester, KY, is that near you?) and her brother, my sister and her best friend. ..and of course Dismom73 and family who talked us into this. It really didn't take much convincing. We have had this planned for over a year and I can't wait. :cloud9:

Talk to you later.

Terri

Well Pam----
Let me be the first( ok edited this cause Terri beat me to it) to say "Welcome Aboard":yay: . I will add you to our web page(link located in my signature), where you will find info about all of us, as well pictures. If you would like to be recognized at port U can send me a photo and I will add U as well....as I tell everyone-- on the other hand if U dont want us crazies to find you then dont send a photo. :rotfl:
I am sorry to hear your dad won't be joining us but by hearing his love for Disney he would want you there...I am a strong believer in the spirit and I am sure he will be there!! Knowing you are creative I can't wait to see your FE. I have made my FE gifts and I like to be creative not always as good as others at it but proud nonetheless I took the time to do it!

Hope everyone had a good weekend...mine ok...was dog sitting for my aunt(4 dogs) and her best friend who's a vet(2 dogs)...I appreciate my cats so much more now! Have a good week all!

It truly is A Small World...Winchester is about 2 hours west of where we now live and about 20 mins. east of Lexington, where my husband and I both went to College (GO CATS!!) he went to medical school and did residency. We then moved back home and have lived there ever since. Thank you again for your welcome and keep in touch.

Pam

Welcome Pam. Great to have more families joining us!!! Sorry about your father. I agree with Michelle...he will still be with you on the cruise:angel:
Nothing exciting to report from my end. We are waiting for our taxes to come in to pay off the cruise and then we will be all said and done. We have our passports so we dont have to worry about that.

I hope everyone has a great day!!!! Did I beat Michelle in having a post before her today??? Oh my:goodvibes

Ok just a note to everyone......I have updated the web page as of late and to keep up with your FE's you will see not only have we added Pam's family but my SIL and family also decided to join. Also like I have said we lost a family(NoKidz- i think she said they switched)and I am forseeing we loose at least another cause I have sent PM's since they only posted one time on here and then disappeared and have gotten no responses. So if u are personalizing anything I would wait till July 20th when everyone has to be pd in full. Then I will send out a PM to make sure everyone is still participating in it. Hopefully everyone will respond so that those of us personalizing things can work on them.

Pam when and if you have your stateroom available that would help with our FE list....thanks! I know some of us don't have our assignments yet but the mosre info I can input now the less I will have to do later! :thumbsup2

Yes Robin U beat me....Glad I made ur day with that!:woohoo: I hope when the weather changes ya all perk up....sheesh no-body has anything to say...OMG just can't believe that...I mean some of us have kids and they are always saying something funny or doing something crazy! Like yesterday my niece gets on the phone and says to me"Aunt Michelle, when are we going on My cruise boat" I said soon but I think a lot of the people I chat with would say it's their cruise boat.:)

Well everyone have a good day. I have one home sick, (Sydney has neck pain....I don't freak over sickness but pain in the neck always makes me think the worst thing) lol and one gone for a few hrs of preschool.

Welcome to our thread Pam! I'm glad you decided to go. I'm sure it's what your Dad would have wanted for you and your family. Are your kids ages listed cruise time ages? Just curious...I have three DD's. My oldest will be 15 on the cruise, so I'm sure they will be running into eachother a lot at the Stack. My middle one will be 10, there are quite a few 8-10 year old girls on our thread. Have you guys been on the Disney cruise before?

Hi Pam. Welcome to Disney Dreamers. Glad to have you along. Sorry for the loss of your Dad. I'm sure he will be cheking out the cruise from the cloud in our logo.
I finally was able to get DH to do somethig spontaneous this weekend. We packed an overnight bag & set off for a drive. We ended up in Leesburg VA, about 100 miles from home! Very spare of the moment & him without a map. This is a first. He was a a little freaked out at times when the road signs were a little confusing, but we made it there & back without too much backtracking. I am so very proud of him. Mr. Never Leave Without a Plan has agreed to another trip West on Route 30. Of course I had to concede a map, but only if he gave in to no hotel reservations or set destination. That will be sometime in May. I'll keep you posted on his progress.
Got a few new tops & shorts for the cruise. I still have nothing in the way of FE done yet. Guess I need to get one started soon in order to have it ready on time.
Once again the weatherman was wrong for the Harrisburg area. We were forcasted for 1 to 3 inches of snow over the weekend. Of course we got nothing, Just lots of cold air & 30mph wind gusts. Can't wait for the cruise just to get warm.

Hi all! Just checking in. Welcome Pam and family!

Well FINALLY I can safely say that our family is healthy now. :) Yeaaaaa!!!!!

Anyway, I got our FE in the mail today. :) It's perfect! I'll take a picture of it and post it soon. Lilli noticed it as soon as she got home from school and really liked it. Even the baby noticed it and was all smiles. Richard (the DH) actually liked it as well and had a big smile on his face. :) So all is well with the world. :)

Well, this is my last week at home with the kiddo. Starting next week I go back to full time. :( It's kinda bitter sweet. One day we'll be in a position financially for me to stay home but for now we keep plugging on.

Take care all! Kristi

Good evening everyone. Welcome Pam and family.

I need to ask a FE question. How many of you will be pertaking in adult beverages while cruising? Is there anyone that will be offended if my FE has something that pertains to adult beverages? You can send me a PM. I found something cute this weekend that I wish I had on several vacations and thought of all of you!!!!

Mindi
