schmoopiecat (is it Trina?) how is your chain coming along? If it's anything like ours it is a big project huh? At first I was able to "clean up" at the end of the day and kind of keep it under control. Well, it is getting to be so long it is sort of taking over our breakfast nook. We have it almost all together though. If I can figure out how to do it, I will try to post a picture of it when we are done. I am looking forward to Oct. 3rd of this year so that we will actually be in the "under a year" point. There is a slight chance (right now very slight) that will be at Disneyland at the year out date. It doesn't really look like an option right now, but a true Disney fan never gives up hope!

I have a question for all you disney cruise veterans out there. When we dock at Castaway Cay, is there a tram that takes you around the island? I haven't seen anything posted on the threads about this. Or does it just drop you off at each beach?

I have a question for all you disney cruise veterans out there. When we dock at Castaway Cay, is there a tram that takes you around the island? I haven't seen anything posted on the threads about this. Or does it just drop you off at each beach?

There is a tram that runs from just past the dock to the family beach and then it goes to the adults only beach (I haven't been that far on it though). It's more of a time saver than a sightseeing ride.

Hi all! Just wanted to touch base with you. It's been a bit since I got on this thread to check it out. Looks like everyone is finding fun things to do while they are waiting. We have decided to add yet another item on our list of things to do, as if we weren't busy enough. We have made a decision to move from our home to a home a little closer to our friends, work, doctors, etc. This means that we are in the process of working on basic fixes before the house goes on the market and, of course, we're packing. AAAACK!!!!! ANyway, as for our chain, we have a small one for the trip coming up but won't even begin to touch the one for the cruise until we're settled. So our chain won't be nearly as long by the time we move and get the chain done and up. Our hopes are that the house will go on the market at the beginning of September and, if we're blessed, we'd be sold and moved by November sometime. We're up to our arms in paint doing touch-ups and we've got several little upgrades/updates to do around the place so please keep us in your thoughts. It's hot here so that doesn't help us at all.

We're counting down to our daughter's birthday (8/7) and then a week later we head out for our week at Disn.Wor. After that school starts, then the house goes up, then we move, then we hopefully can relax for awhile before we add more craziness to our lives. If I don't get on here often you'll now know why. Don't take it personally.

If anyone else is interested in kinda taking over the "leadership" position that'd be cool. I don't wanna have to worry about my dis'ers while attempting to juggle all this stuff. Thanks!

Kristy, How exciting...you get to move to a new house!!! I hope it sells very quickly for you.

Gosh, no leader now??? I am just not that organized to put together a group, plus this is my first Disney cruise and have no idea what to expect.

Is it a paid position? I'm not sure, but I think I'm on the wrong time zone to be the leader...Since LisaG520 is moving I am the only one on the West coast. Besides they were only laughing at the water cooler because I replaced the water with Tequila. Those were good times. Since we still have over a year maybe we can gang up on the next new person, you know, the one who hasn't posted yet, the unsuspecting dis'er who is only contemplating going on the 10-03-09 cruise, they'll never see it coming, just a thought...

Thanks - we're sort of in the chaos stage right now. The packers/movers are coming Monday and should have everything out by Tuesday. Then we start the drive to Florida!

Of course we are spending this weekend at Comic-Con! Not exactly leaving a lot of time to do things - oh well this will probably be our last con so we're enjoying it.

I got to see Keanu Reeve, Mark Wahlberg, Hugh Jackman, and the casts of Twilight, Dexter, and Tru Blood yesterday. Today we're going to see the Ghost Hunters, Kevin Smith and the cast of The Watchmen.

Kristi, I hope everything goes smooth with the sale of your house and your move, and even better...your trip to WDW. Where are guys staying? We've stayed at All Star Sports, Fort Wilderness Cabins, and most recently Coronodo Springs. We loved the pool at Coronado Springs(especially the water slide) And I really liked the space in the cabins and the scenery there. Our dream is to stay at Wilderness Lodge...some day.
We thought we were going to have to move, but we seemed to have dodged that bullet, which I am so grateful for because I am not a big fan of moving.

Hey DisMom73! Thanks for the kind words on the move. It's a long process but it will happen. As for WDW, we are staying at the Coronado Springs. We can't wait. It looked like a great place to stay. We love Coronado Springs - our favorite resort, I think we've stayed there around 7-8 times. And we're staying there again in December.

Sounds like we picked the right place to stay! I can't wait! The clock is quickly ticking down. We've got lots going on this week to pass the time. Over the weekend we ripped up concrete walkways in our backyard. (Not to hard as they were in pieces already.) Gotta put the new walkways in and while the hubby is doing this (he didn't need my help on this project) I will be painting the hallway (had holes from pictures to fill thus a messy wall) and the stairway (had cracks to fill thus messay stairway). Just an FYI, our house was built in 1924. Therefore, we have that old horsehair plaster walls that crack after much use. So, that as well as lots of tossing out, passing on to others and packing up, we've got a busy week ahead of us. Time is certainly flying.

Kristi--And you stepped down as leader for....??? It doesn't sound like you are very busy at all...ok, maybe a little. I'm thinking, we could just wait here for you, you know until things settle down and your not so busy, then you can be our leader again. We'll wait patiently.
And yes, you did pick a good resort, like I said before, our girls loved the pool/waterslide. I'm thinking this time of year it will come in handy. The margaritas they serve at the pool are really good too . We also really liked the food at the food court. I hope you have a really good time...and we'll be w a i t i n g ...

LisaG--I don't envy you, traveling across the country with two cats. When I take ours up the street to the vet I'm ready to go crazy by the time we get there and she is ready to have a mental break down, good luck with that. How long do you have until you move? Did you say already? My short term memory is not what it used to be. How long do you have until you move? Did you say already... just me amusing myself.

We finished our chain But I think my husband is seriously considering setting up an appointment with a shrink. If I can figure out how to post a picture of it I will. Don't hold your breath. Well, I have to hand over the computer to Riley who is dying to watch a Hannah Montana video...Talk to you all later.

Hi DisMom! Thanks for the response. I think if you all were willing to wait I'd be cool with that. It's not like this cruise is coming up anytime really soon. So, if all of you are willing to wait then I'll resume my "leader" role after the new year.

As for the resort we're staying at, one of the things that excited us about this place was the architecture and the pool. And thanks for the heads up on the margaritas. YUMMMMMMM, I'm rarely (and I mean rarely) have a drink but that just sounds really really good right now.

Very cool that your countdown chain is done. Don't fret if you have to sit with a shrink for a bit cause your hubby think's it's best. By the time you're done sharing with the shrink I'm sure he (or she) will be ready to sign up for the cruise and will be doing a chain too.

Our first chain is almost gone (which is exciting for us). I'm looking forward to having the house sold and such so we can start on the cruise chain.

Well all, it's been real. Gotta go get the kiddo here in a short while. It's church night so we've got classes to go to, singing to do, etc. Until next time!

Andrea, I like the character names that Sandy did for you. I was debating on asking her to do some for me. She seems like she is overwhelmed at the moment. We do still have time, so I may ask her after she is done with her cruise.

I dont think that I can do a chain to count down the days until our trip. If things are left laying around for too long, I throw them away. I guess I will just busy myself with school shopping and then Christmas.
